2016 Ford F450 Platinum Owner Review

I've owned this truck since Oct 16 and just rolled 2000miles on the ODO. Here is WHY I traded in my 2011 F250 for this beast. I shopped all trucks and wasn't loyal to Ford, but ended up with another Super Duty.

That was a really good walk around of your F450. I found it was very interesting. I totally 100% agree with you that the Ford Super Duty Tow mirrors are easily the best in the pickup truck industry for functionality, and appearance. My F350 is a 2001 and it's got the same sort of tow mirrors and they work fantastic, there is virtually no blind spot whatsoever when driving around in my opinion. I was actually surprised that this newer F450 only had a 3 Leaf stack in it, with 1 overload spring. The thickness of each leaf does apparently add a considerable amount of strength and integrity to each leaf from what I've read online of spring manufactures and on forums. If a person was so inclined you could add either Fire Stone air ride bags, or the Hellwig Pro Series 2500/3500 series helper springs that U Bolt right over top of the factory leaf springs. I also agree that there is no doubt in my mind that the F450 can & will carry a lot more weight than an F350 dually, due to the Massive drive axle, springs, beefier front end components as well as the rigid frame rails with arguably stiffer/more added cross members on the frame rails than an F350 dually. But Ford has to dumb down the GVW on paper for DOT reasons and for liability as it is still considered a light duty pickup vehicle in this form of configuration with the pickup bed etc. and not as a chassis cab configuration. Nevertheless I would have no doubt that this truck could and would tow practically any loaded 40' gooseneck trailer without even breaking a sweat and it would do it confidently and safely both in stopping power and get up and go bottom end power sheerly due to the massive rear axle with 4.88 or lower gear ratio, and the beefy commercial components as well as the bigger rims, tires and brakes.

On 2011-2016 superduties you can get a fully boxed frame from the factory like my dad did for his f-450 work truck

im gonna assume that white is platnum tri coat? if so how different is it from the true oxford white? do u like the platnum tricoat white better than the oxford white?
