Your videos are one of the reasons i have taken that first step and leap of faith towards my passion and actually go for it, for so long in my life I've been hesitant and sort of afraid thinking if I'm ever gonna be successful in something entirely different than what I've been doing my whole life, and i was never happy, but i know im not ever gonna stop this time. Thanks you so much danny! you're an inspiration. I'm so glad i found your channel.
This dude is the most genuine person I've never met. I used to feel anxious about creating but now I am more comfortable with me and my camera. Thanks Danny
Found your channel about a week ago and all I can say is you’re great man. Thank you for your knowledge and being so humble. You are definitely a inspiration brother. Thank you again!
Man man man, i am half way through this video and already paused to say thank you. You know it feels like talking to a friendly friend as I watch your video. Its only 3rd or 4th of your video I am watching and I wana say thank you. You make me believe in the process... Thanks again.
Dude you are a big inspiration. I currently feel like I got stuck in my film making career a few months back. Finding you channel was a big way to get me out that phase and even though I don't think i am completely out of it, you words are inspiring me there. Thanks a ton brother.
Wow this was great! All the things you mentioned in the video I can relate so much! My first camera was a Nikon d3200. My first job in the industry was a BTS shooter. Then it went to PAing now I’m transitioning into camera department. been doing videography and in the industry for 4 years but I’m still learning! my ultimate goal is to direct but as of now I’m still not sure was path I’m trying to aim towards in the industry as I’m trying to achieve that goal but I just love Film so much that I know is what I’m supposed to do for the rest of my life. This what I needed to watch to, to remind myself to keep going and keep learning no matter what! Thank you 🙏
It's about darn time your channel started blowing up! I recommend it to anyone who asks me about a resource for getting into the industry. Keep doing what you're doing, man.
You are genuinely a great person and that is awesome, Im working my first gig next week as a Camera PA, (aspirations of becoming a DP) and I hope I can run into more people like you along the way!!
Holy Hell this almost made me cry a few times, from laughing at the sucking balls part, to realizing that I'm on the right track I just have to stick with the process
I’m sharing this video with plenty of people I know that want to start film making. I love your channel, it’s up there with Peter and others. I’ve been passionate about film for years and I’m finally getting started on my path on TH-cam and then other platforms

Holy moly, man! I'm that user that never comment on other people content, but shit...this is good! I learned of lot and it was your first video I've watched. Stoked to check other videos on your channel and love you too!

I know this video is almost a year old now but I have to say no other video that I've seen has pushed me more to take that next step than this one! Thank you so much for inspiring me hope you know that you do so for so many people, keep on keeping on man, much love!
Danny Gevirtz absolutely my friend. Hope all is well in your world especially now with the current stat of affairs worldwide. Stay safe, healthy and happy Danny!
You video about documenting every day was a next play in my xbox yt. I enjoyed that video and this one played next. I like the way you share your thoughts and knowledge. I like to take pictures every day with my phone is used to keep a 20 times zoom Panasonic point and shoot in my pocket for years. I took a couple of years FB and IG break. It was refreshing to go back and re-looking at the old pics from 2011 to 2018. Have a great safe day or night and enjoy your adventures!
Holy shit, I needed this badly, I've been focusing to much on how to get my first client but what I really should focus on is create create create. Thanks for reminding me!!!
It was Super helpful!! I am student now who wants to be a filmmaker but didn't know where to start. You gave me such a great tips I will start with step one! Love you too :)
I really appreciate all these points. I am working a full time job and I am looking to move myself over to doing film part time for a bit and move it over to a full time gig. Your first point, was to me, the most important, setting up your purpose! Funny thing happened was that I sat and went over my purposes for why I am getting in to film making and not an hour later, I got a call from a Non-For-Profit group that needs someone to film their food distribution that they do monthly and they want me to do this. I have done a little work so far but this will be one of the biggest thing that I will have filmed being that we will be doing 3 different locations. Thought I would share.
Dude, your videos are so inspirational, and funny! I was getting tired of all the content creators on youtube. Your honest way of talking to the camera is really refreshing to look at. Great Job! I wish you the best as a youtuber, and if by any chance you come by Germany, let us know. I would love to talk to you over some cold beers.
Thank you so much for this video, I really needed it. Im a beginner in filmmaking and I've spent countless hours learning about it but my problem is somewhat actually doing something, I'm ultra perfectionist so everytime I think of going out and shooting I think of all the problems I'm facing.. "I don't have anyone to shoot", "nah this won't look great", "this spot isn't good enough", "the lighting sucks" and I just end up doing nothing, I'm super frustrated but find myself still not making any changes. This video really encourages me of going out and do stuff and to stop thinking too much. You are an incredible person as well as filmmaker, thank you for sharing your story and knowledge !
Such best video of advices with integrity and honesty! You are the best also to emphasise spreading love and kindness. I am following and truly a fan now.
This is the best video on filmmaking and trying to start working in this industry that i have seen so far. Thank you very much, for your realistic and practical advice.

Great job Danny. Fun learning all about the moving parts going into your project. I love how kind and appreciative you are of your group. Stay humble...it will serve you well. Very proud of you.

On minute 13 of the video and finding this incredibly valuable. Thanks Danny for your insights into the industry - your channel is helping me find direction (I'm somewhere in a mix of steps 5-8 right now) at a time I feel kind of lost on where to go next. Appreciate you!
These videos are perfect. Just found your channel today and it's been perfect inspiration to get back at filmmaking and not let things discourage me from my dream. Thank you!!!
I just found your channel today and I’m binging every video. There’s something I find uniquely encouraging about your voice and the way you frame these topics and ideas that so many people on TH-cam are covering that is motivating me. Right now my next step is to get on set and start working as a part of a team instead of doing everything solo. Keep up the great work Danny, i look forward to tuning into this channel regularly
I love these videos!! I've built my business editing videos for all types of TH-camrs and I'm actually pretty happy. I want to be a youtuber someday in some capacity and building a strong business editing for others has taught me soooooo much. I felt that this was a huge step for me because looking 5 years into the future I realized the only way to learn what I need to know is to find the people and ask. That grew into editing and here we are 1 year later with 8 clients needing weekly-daily videos. Lowkey, I was scared at first because I know a lot of people have immediately thrown me out when I mention only wanting to work on youtube because they see it as lesser than... But that is when I knew I was in the right place because all that makes me want to do is create more youtube videos. I've found a solid revenue stream, I have consistent work, I control all my own time, and now im starting to make a name for myself as a youtube video editor and getting pulled to bigger projects just because I doubled down on what I want to be doing. It's been just over a year and I'm already helping a celebrity launch a youtube channel and editing videos that millions of people are seeing a month. The beauty of the film industry is even a kid who dropped out of college to make youtube videos can find their way. There is no right path.
the best advice I ever got and similar to #5... "If you need a years worth of work, go work for a year." I think about this every day as I edit new things. Each one is just a tiny bit better than the last
Great video Danny! This video and your last video with the on set tips are a great resource for beginner filmmakers. I will be sharing both of these with some friends who are just starting out. Keep up the great work!
thank you for this video! I'm at the why step now, and it gave me confidence when I realized how many whys I can name. I enjoy your editing style and the simple blue background.
I didn't skip a bit. You are an inspiration bro. I am stuck in my career now. But after watching this video i could tell that i am going to try my best to become a filmmaker. Thanks for your advice man. Love your works
If you ever get bored with videography, I see a great future for you as a modern day philosopher. It might not be the best way to earn a living but you have a gift for putting your soul out there, Danny. Living proof that, in show business, there are some very special folks behind the lens!
I use a canon rebel sl2 and i know it’s not the best but I feel like it really forces me to get better at composing shots to compensate for quality. Forces me to work with what I have and focus on the story or feel that the video produces.
Well done on this, I’m only at the bottom of this filmmaking mountain, and it starts with the basics. It took me forever to understand exposure, composition and what looks “cinematic”. Once that clicked, my growth became exponential.
I've been holding off on kickstarting my journey for the past 2 years due to work and stress. I've just recently purchased an anamorphic lens and now saving for a cine camera. Thank you so much for this.
Your first video shot on Nikon looked amazingggg!!!! Thank you so much for the insights on how to build a career in filmmaking. I really think it's important to go back to the 'why' why did i start filmmaking, why did i even pick up my camera in the first place? I think it's a good reminder everyday to remember why I or You started this journey in filmmaking. Thank you!
As someone who has recently just developed a huge love for video making and story telling, I really look up to you Danny! Each one of your videos is so inspiring and authentic. Keep going man!
it seems that you've really made my day and movitaded me , thanks for your advises , your words i've really liked your videos , at the same time they are simple and beatiful and you're really creative i like the style , Thaaaank youuuu

Thanks for this video dude, so honest and humble and I think many of us wanting to get into this will have a similar path to yours, so this was very insightful and inspiring!
This popped on my feed and I'm already well on to pursuing step 8! But I have seriously related to this story soo much. My journey I started out making videos of me and my friends goofing off and then someone casually asking me to make a video for them. Nearly a decade later and I'm still grinding man. Great story, and thanks for sharing your experience man. Keep crushing it Danny! Cheers!
I am B and C at the same time 😃 I know it will sound weird but after watching your video about a day of a filmmaker I have quited smoking since last week. I feel so lucky to find your channel, I appreciate so much to all the effort you putting here! Thanks Danny and I hope I can work someday for you as a camera assistant.

Thanks so much man!
Only found you’re channel yesterday. Your are a legend sir. A truly humble and very talented man, thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much Matt! So happy to have you man
If you ever get bored with videography, I see a great future for you as a modern day philosopher.
Thanks man!
Always positive vibes and motivation. Love you and your work dude! 🙏🏼💪🏽 Greetings from Germany

Thank you!

Cheers!
So happy to hear you enjoyed it and could relate man! Thanks so much Sean!
Fun video and great breakdown on steps - also, really liked the little Dannys that popped in! Keep on creating my friend, your work and words inspire
Skyler! Thanks man! It’s been too long

I feel so lucky to find your channel, I appreciate so much to all the effort you putting here! Thanks Danny and I hope I can work someday for you as a camera assistant.
Ah man so glad to hear this! Congrats on quitting! Youre saving your own life. Maybe one day it will happen!
