Mine were rusted badly. Nuts got stuck on rusty threads and hex head stripped round when I tried to force it. In typical renault fashion I had to saw the stabilizer links off.

There's no need to do this, there's usually a flat on the back of the thread where you can get an open ended spanner on it.
