Thanks for such an informative content. Very well explained.👍🏾 Please, is it possible to apply the dpm membrane to an existing building? ...then mix the water resistance chemical to a mortar for replastering? I will appreciate your feedback, since I'm facing rising dampness problem in my existing house.
That will not work as rising damp happens within (inside) the black wall itself. The will have to be solved within the block cavity to stop moisture from rising. Will do a video about this fix soon.
Not at all... In an already built house, the plastering will have to be removed to a particular meters. Then a two way treatment will be done. First, a damp proof injection treatment will be done to prevent water from rising... Secondly, polystyrene insulation is done
Very informative. I have had to scrap bits and pieces of information about rising dump issues in Ghana and what the pros and wonna be pros are saying about it. This really covers it in a lay mans views. Nice work 👍. What would you recommend when no dumproofing was installed? Can it be done during screeding?
Hello sir thank you for this video. We are building a bungalow presently and the Mason is following the GERMAN method of laying blocks. They already put up The walls and we did not yet lay DPM. Please can you advise best Damp proof steps since the face of the foundation blocks is now covered with wall? The foundation is full. The dirt is off the perimeter wall revealing the foundation blocks and the blocks are made with 42R cement and sand. We were thinking 500 DPM in each room for floor Sika top seal in cement plastered on exposed foundation perimeter Bitumen paint over the sika plaster mix. Thanks for your advice please ?
Hi, please recently we joined two concrete roof slabs together and for some reason there is a crack that has formed exactly on the spot where it was joined. How to stop a leak of water through a concrete floor? Can i use Damp proofing on top of the roofing before we do screeding? or mix some Paracaps 10 with malta to do screeding Thanks
@@errolosafo4314 no, it's not meant for surface treatment or mixing with paint. It's meant to be either injected into the blocks (fixing rising damp) or mixed with mortar for plastering (prevention)
Thank you so much for sharing this video. It is very helpful and informative. Your explanations were very clear
Lovely explanation. Much better than by professional surveyors.
Glad you think so!

Hello sir, if you have already completed the foundation, can you now add water repellent on your cement mixer for plastering for some benefit? 😢

@@agoosagoo6859 I will recommend talking to a building engineer. What you're dealing with is not a rising damp issue.
Greetings Aberba, care to show pictorial evidence or any form of demonstration on plastering.
Can i put the DPM in the trench in the foundation
Why don't you put the dpc on top of the blinding before the vacation of concrete foundation
Very important

We want solutions on the defects now not long video which is not giving comfort..
Giving you comfort wasn't the purpose of the video. It says how to "prevent" rising damp. Not how to "fix" rising damp.
Thank you
