It’s a shame Eden was treated the way he was by the other sculptors. I hope bro can relax a bit and get back on check mentally and that he knows we appreciated his work. And pay cut. What a soul. That being said. I think Hiya are gonna bounce back. It’s a weird transitional period. I dunno why people are going to immediate doom and gloom right off the bat. Yes, it’s unfortunate, but it’s not the end of the world lol Hiya isn’t going anywhere. Give em a chance to really get their footing back.
dam so sad seeing that these “co- sculptors” were to stubborn and selfish, not very open to criticism. almost childish, costing us a very good sculptor just trying to do a good deed to the collecting community.
I bet it was a mixture of laziness and not being as keen on each detail as Eden, is quite an assumption I know, but just makes sense to me if they were petty enough to go out of their way to not do what they were told.
What a toxic work environment. Eden Buster sounds like a real upstanding figure in the official Godzilla merchandise space! I’m very glad the uncooperative employees have moved on to other things, it means the issue is hopefully over before it could become too big of a disaster.
Very interested to see where this goes. I knew the Hiya bubble was going to burst at some point, this might be it if they can't sort something out. Still excited to get my hands on their incoming releases
Thank you for sharing this story man, much appreciated. Sounds like Eden is an incredible individual and someone us fans would hope to be at the helm of sculpting Godzilla or other kaiju/monster figures. Also I would like to know the figures he worked on. Definitely getting G2000, as well as G91 and Ghidorah 91. Hire him NECA, and do some Gamera figures ✨️
Honestly, I’m actually more disappointed with the other sculptors who happened to be ungrateful bunch whom Eden has to deal with since I feel like they deserve to be punished and fired by Hiya Toys’ higher ups. My sincere apologies if I ranted out my own thoughts about the unfair working conditions he went through because I knew what it’s like to be treated without respect. But nevertheless, I do really hope that the working conditions will improve so Eden can able to work with Hiya Toys once more, but with newer sculptors who are more respectful and open-minded, especially to supervising.
The other employees need to check their egos because their recent figure is looking kind of trash in comparison to earlier outputs, Eden was definitely carrying them
My biggest concern here is that if this was the guy responsible for making sure fan-feedback was heard and things corrected on figures, then it could potentially lead to the same lazy complacency that affects SHMA and other big brands that know people will buy their products regardless of how much effort they put into it.
Glad you were able to clarify the situation. It’s too bad that the other employees let their egos get in the way of Eden doing great work. Wherever Eden goes next, I hope his work is appreciated.
Hopefully Hiya can bounce back from this by either gettimg Eden back or finding another good sculptor. Their cost helps give them their edge so i also hope they can maintain that. I still think the 2002 figure looks fine, I am impressed with how far up they displayed its head tilted.
yeah its very early so i expect it to look a little off. Hiya is still new and they also seem to be bringing the drafting into the marketing and working the changes with feedback directly. Im not too worried about that. Only thing Im worried about is price hikes...if the exquisite basic line goes above 70 then they lost their main market.
I have that w dragon Godzilla 2000 and it goes freaking hard so clearly Eden buster is a skilled sculptor. Sucks to hear the other workers didnt think so, my assumption is probably blinded by jealousy or ego. If Eden does come back to hiya hopefully he gets new people who are understanstanding and helpful to work with and don't constantly get butt hurt when he gives criticism.
Why love for the whole company tho? They have many other franchises and probably different sculptors for those seems a bit odd to lose hope for the whole company when it was just certain individuals he was working with
@@sharktopusvonjr2374 I was using it as an example it’s strange to lose some love for a company when there are multiple different employees for each part of it when only certain individuals were the problem it’s essentially doing that thing that teachers did where they punished everyone because one kid was being annoying
Its looking like the the big villain of this story was Pride. These other sculptors were too proud of themselves, did not want criticism, and they seemed to be threatened by Eden’s presence, so they wanted to make the experience hell for him. Its sad
Damn, that’s unfortunate, though honestly they should of listened to the guy that knows how to make the figures look more faithful to the source material then just get stroppy over it, at least respect what he is trying to do to help.
I really hope re returns because let’s be honest he was one of the reasons why they’re so perfectly accurate and I know the only way he can work there again is with a new team, let’s just hope it happens sooner but I hope he’s doing alright and he’s happy now.
This is definitely sad as he has been part of making some of the best figures made from any company. I do hope he makes a return and they stay on track.
I feel like those other sculptors need to be punished, what they did wasn’t very professional and they should learn there lesson. Edan is a great sculptor so I hope he comes back to hiya and keeps sculpting great figures. I hope if he does this he will be treated more nice
That definitely did not sound like a fun experience for Edan. Hopefully he'll come back at some point b/c he contributions to Hiya has been quite significant.
Well seems like a big loss regardless with now two Hiya sculpts fan were less receptive too and absolutely glowing praise from the ones he helped sculpted.
@ROUGEBLOCK Actually no one would win because the prices would either be the same or more expensive. Even if Eden took a pay cut, no way Tamashii Nations would budge on lowering the price tag.
Eden did not deserve any of what his coworkers at Hiya Toys did to him, that is beyond messed up. As for Hiya Toys, I hope they continue to listen to the Fan Feedback and continue improving their Godzilla figures(both Toho & Monsterverse) and hopefully if they hire Eden for more work, hopefully his coworkers will learn to respect him more.
Same with other companies. Shma makes figures people don’t like sometimes and people say hiya will trash Bandai or some weird stuff like that. The only big toy company to lose the Godzilla license was Neca. I hope we don’t have a repeat of Neca anytime soon.
This sounds like a toxic work environment he being experiencing. Now, if these co-sculptors were a bit less stubborn, prideful, and etc. and had good communication and what not with Eden than they would been making some great stuff without the drama and the nonsense. Still, when the time is right, he'll return to Hiya Toys.
Edenbuster's story sounds like a case of burnout. It also sounds like a case of dyed in the wool bruised egos and professional jealousy on the co-sculptors' part.
I think Edan is a fantastic sculptor and if he does return to Hiya I look forward to his figures to see what they are like. Though ay hopes I had for Hiya have literally dropped to the point its not helping considering the massive delays of figure *Cough Godzilla Evolved and 2014 Cough*
Pretty insane and sad story for Edan. Let's hope that if he returns to HIYA, the coworkers will respect him more.

Facts
Eden buster leaves and they end up with one of themost hated sculpts. Bro was carrying the squad
By hated you mean nitpicked since this is Hiya and the figure isn't really bad
dam so sad seeing that these “co- sculptors” were to stubborn and selfish, not very open to criticism. almost childish, costing us a very good sculptor just trying to do a good deed to the collecting community.

i’m worried about hiya
Sounds like he had to deal with terrible coworkers, it sucks man
Hopefully Hiya can bounce back from this by either gettimg Eden back or finding another good sculptor. Their cost helps give them their edge so i also hope they can maintain that. I still think the 2002 figure looks fine, I am impressed with how far up they displayed its head tilted.

Dang I never thought that the sculptors can affect the pricing on figures. Learn something new almost every day.
yeah I bet there's a lot more to that we don't know, I mean we're just a bunch of nerds buying Kaiju figures lol.
It kind of makes sense of co sculptures being difficult. One of them that worked on the G 2000 was involved with drama in other fan projects

The other sculptures have a skill issue
I’m glad that he didn’t have problems the leadership but shame on the other sculptors
Yeah, if the leadership is against you then you pretty much lose.

Shouldn’t those employees be fired instead? Like that’s feels discriminatory in terms of work ethics
He didn’t say if they were fired or not just that they “moved on” I think it’s vague enough to not say for sure

THANK YOU! shma and Hasbro constantly have dumb issues with sculpts and workers and people never get this dramatic about it

Infuriating!! Edan should be granted his own line in Hiya Toys like his idol Yuji Sakai's case with XPLUS. Don't let other suckers be his free riders.
Well even if Eden doesn't return at least these figures look better than NECA
If Hiya lost him, I'm afraid that the current Godzilla 2002 design will stay the same, and I'm afraid the next releases will be not as good as before

I fear Eden's well being considering how "People" in that "Country" takes their revenge.
According to Kyle's interview, Eden said it's not the company.
Hiya is cooked?
Does Eden have an Instagram?
Yes, if you look up EdenBuster you should see it. Relatively new account
