    That's definitely the perfect tool for cutting box straps. That's how it's done... Nice!!!

    Question: with the tons of unrecognizable brands of e-bikes, how do you know which are the best quality? When I start looking online, I just get lost. LOL

      It's a pretty odd thing to be honest, and I don't entirely understand it myself. It seems to me that a lot of them are actually very similar, or at the very least use a lot of very similar components. Almost as if it's just a bunch of marketing teams picking out specific components from a list and then either designing or refusing a frame. If I was to look for, and one, I'd find a few I liked the look and capabilities of. Then figure out what components they're using (motor, controller, brakes, etc.) and figure out which is the best from that. The good news is, a lot of the components are easy enough to source, so technically, the "brand" of the bike itself is almost unimportant at the end of the day.

    Seems to be a new ebike review out everyday and they all have strange names like mukkpet or some other random collection of letters. I seriously doubt that one is really any better than the other.

      True!!! It's definitely not a brand game when it comes to eBikes, at least not the budget ones. The trick is to look at all the components, that's really what separates the meh, from the decent!

    I walk 3-5 miles a day to try and stay in shape for dual sporting. My dad, who is 74 use to walk with me but he had a heart operation a few months ago, and has gone through therapy, but he can’t quite keep up with me on our somewhat hilly route anymore, plus I have always walked faster than him anyway... I would like to buy him an ebike so that he can pedal when he wants to, and have the freedom to just twist the throttle whenever he chooses. My dad is about 5’8” with a 31” inseam, and weighs about 200lbs. I can only spend about $1000-$1500. Do you have any recommendations?

      I'm sorry to hear he's having a hard time, but glad he's still able to get out a bit with you. That's awesome! You should be able to get something pretty darn nice in that range. I don't have anything specific in mind, but I'd go with a 4" wide fat tire for stability. Step through frame, with a low - wide seat and probably rear suspension for additional comfort. The longer the wheel base the better for stability. I'll let you know if I come across anything!

      If he doesn't need to sit, you can get a lot of scooter for that kind of money, and if he is a rider, he may enjoy that.

    • @airadaimagery692
      @airadaimagery692 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@patring620 that’s a thought... But I have 2 questions, will he still get some sort of exercise riding one of those? And are those things capable of traveling over slightly hilly grass covered embankments? I know nothing about scooters...

    • @patring620
      @patring620 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@airadaimagery692 likely no exercise at all right in a scooter. However, for that kind of money, you can buy an all-terrain scooter, with dual motors that will go up the steepest of hills at a high rate of speed. There's a guy on TH-cam that does scooter reviews and I find them fascinating Even though I am not in the market for one. Hope you find a solution that you can do with your dad. My dad turns 86 in September, and I just missed being able to ride with him, as he was riding his old triumph until he was 85.

    I wonder if you can modify these e-bikes?🤔

      It's certainly not my area, but I guess people do all sorts of crazy things with them! I actually just sold one to a guy who was talking about converting it to all wheel drive with dual motors!
