SprayWay, I use to own my own car audio store about 10 years ago so I have done quite a few fiberglass jobs but always sent out my pieces for paint. Now fast forward 10 years with a whole different career and thinking about a project that I always wanted to do with my teenage son and watching your videos I really want to do all of body and paint work myself. I would be starting off from scratch but am excited about the journey. Seriously please keep up with all of the knowledge you are feeding the young people (and some of us older diy'ers). You cannot pay for your experience.
SprayWayCustoms hey man I have a quick question I know it's late but I wanna do the same thing as u except imma take off the sunroof of a 2005 jeep grand Cherokee and the car imma put sunroof inside is a 2007 jeep grand Cherokee but mine doesn't have a factory hole for the factory and they told me they couldn't install it because it's not gonna open and the water is gonna get in if u reply I appreciate it man
GorillaGrown420 dank nah man I couldn't do it went to a body shop that has done repairs for me and they said that I have to cut the whole top part of the jeep and then put it on mine which would be like 1800 $ just for that
Not that is what I call good old fashioned "Making it happen, Captain". I love people that have the ambition to figure out how to get a job done. Anybody with money can go get a sunroof installed, but how many can grab one from a bone yard and put it it in there car??? Plus doing it all out of a one car garage. big thumbs up! You can't buy brains and you can't fix stupid.
Man we need more dudes like you on yt fasho. You show the real ground work and do it in your own way. Keep going man, bring the world more videos like this. Keep applying pressure to these folks!!
I'm on TH-cam so much that it has become my "reality show" I try to catch all your videos and either learn something new or re-fresh and old memory!...it's guys like you that keep guys like me BUILDING! ...keep it going "Sprayway"
That's talent folks! I've been doing bodywork and customized projects like this for more than 30 years and that's a nice job done right there. Took the extra time to make clean cuts, ground all welding surfaces and fiberglass material over your welds. Nicely done! Thanks for the video.
->> Awesome job on the whole sunroof. From the junkyard to the chevy... I see you still have a ways to go on the chevy. I know I’m not the only one that wants to see the finished build... Keep the videos coming. 👍🏽
I just want to say thank you. I have been wanting to do somthing like this but never had to courage to cut my roof open in my truck lol. But between these videos and your painting along with your fiberglassing have taught me a lot and have learned a lot from your videos. I’ve watched some other people a but you go in way much more detail. You should open a shop and teach people stuff like this. I know a lot of people would love to attend a class from you
This came up randomly on my TH-cam feed and i was blown away. The video was great and your work is remarkable! Keep on doing what you're doing, you really have an amazing talent.
One of the best step by step sunroofs videos on TH-cam period. Detailed from the pick at the yard to the near finished product. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see the finished product.
I'm glad I saw this completely changed my mind about a sunroof install. This is factory not the cheap cut a hole trim ring it will leak manual flip up's that are out there. Nice job on the fill and finish.
There's no reason on earth for anyone to hate on what you do... The talent you have is God given. Your bodywork is seamless & clean, now my wife's peepin just for the music.
SprayWayCustoms not sure if I am send this proper because I'm not sure how to fully use youtube but your videos are amazing and super helpful. I have a few questions but not sure how to reach you
Fam u really gave me the faith I can get a sunroof done in my 2dr box properly, cats up here telling me they gonna leak...wish i could teleport my whip to U lolol...great job
Your videos are the only ones that I let the ads play on. This is some top notch work. I always have to take a step back after watching one of your vids because it gets me all over confident like I'm ready to take a sawsall to my car right now haha
I'm shocked, I was wondering if this was possible... Im curious to see how the interior turned out with the motor and other stuff in the way, but it looks amazing on the outside. Im looking at doing this with a late 90's suburban. maybe two sunroofs, hard to find one with it.
Came up in my feed randomly and I gotta say at the start I thought you'd do a terrible job but it turned out so professional and stock looking! Well done!
Spraywaycustoms your one badass dude! Myself an many others are grateful you take your time to show us that hey, "it ain't that hard this is all you do." With your lil elaboratin and a bit of demonstratin you sir, Inspire me.
i like your videos man you have talent working on cars my respects to you but i want to know if you can give some idea or make a video working on a chevy cobalt i have one and i want to turn it on black and white for inside can you give me some ideas to star my own project
This was the first video that hooked me on this channel, I've learned an incredible amount from spraywaycustoms. Learning through this channel pulled me through a bad 10 year relationship and believe it or not gave me the know how to restore my 82 suburban and said goodbye to that mean ass cheatin b#tch. Working with your hands and doing Auto body work and paint just brings you to life. Hopefully y'all subscribe and learn a new skill or improve a current one, god bless 🤘🤠🤘
Hey Spray you do such good work. It looks like the car came with that sunroof. I'm learning allot about paint and body work while watching you do your thing. Thanks for the great videos.
Watched the entire video. Great work. Came for the knowledge, but stayed for the slice of adolescence bumping that music at 18, now 27 and it still ride. That moonroof is mechanically just Like my infiniti g35 coupe. I always wanted one just like it in my 96 impala SS. I have a parts car 2002 infiniti i30 with the moon roof. I need to cut that out before i crush it.
it was nice to see how you did that. i tried years ago with a blazer sunroof trying to install it into a s10 but i didn't have the original curved sheet metal roof section that is curved to fit it. I failed and ended up scrapping the truck. now i saw this I'm thinking about going for it with the silverado i have now. I thought you were going to attach the sunroofs sheet metal to the underside of the roof and then build bondo up on top of it but you laying the sunroof metal on top of the original roof worked out well. that's a reassurance for me should I try something similar. I learned alot from watching a few of your videos. kudos
Your the shit for makin these vids dude. Aint got money to pay people to do this shit. But i got the skills. Just needed to get a mental starting point. Now i have it.
Much props bro!!! Makes me wann get into body and detail work and pull from flippn wrenches....glad to see someone enjoying what they do and can teach others the basic ropes. I may just go and touch up my 86 long bed needs a little body touch up..you were very detailed and direct on your steps.....wish i had a garage.
I am Speechless. So now, I need to learn how to will Too? Yes, you now have a new fan. The video I watch with you.... I was like, thus dude??????? But all I have learn so so much from and I'm all over each and every move..... my hat is off for you my dog. Trying to be just like you. I have way too many questions for you!!!!
Good job man I want to put a second sun roof on my 4x4 z71 Tahoe im about to solid axle swap.Funny you was talking about a Montero sun roof that's what I was at the junk yard a few days ago looking for, just to have one in storage ready I might have to check for a quest NOW!!
Very nice. I would have liked to see you build up the bondo though. The transition from the sunroof to the roof looked high after welding but it looked perfect after the bondo.
This popped into my recommends; damn good job, young dude. Very impressive..make me wanna clean out my garage and get it in! I got some questions, though...
thanks for the vid man. ive been trying to find/learn how to do this and nobody wanted to do it for the fact of the leak risk. you do good instructional videos and they never get boring like most of them keep up the good work man.
Dude, I got so much respect for what you do to go pull that top out of that van. Then put it in the lac. You must be a Florida boy. That's some straight Florida you know what. Awesome job, I got to come see you one day. I'm in the A
That came out very good, only thing I would suggest is to spray weld through primer over all the bare metal before welding, because I know you still got some bare metal that is exposed to air someplace on that roof, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Jermaine...that should be pretty easy, just use another LS as the donor vehicle...unless you going after market..I'd rather go custom to get that factory look....stay tuned and subscribe!!!
Fabricate the headliner from the car the sunroof came out of and the headliner out of your car. You basically using the outer part of your old headliner and around the opening of the headliner from the donor car.
Thanks brah it a blessing to have the hands you do, but you humble as well. Im 30 and in richmond va so there is a lot of negative around me. But I joined dblock car audio club and I get to be involved in car club scene making sub boxes and I love it. Thanks again
Good job dude..I never thought about doing it that way. The welding looks good enough to me. Glad you still doing yo thing playa...inspiration for all of us.
man i love yo step by step instructions you do better than superb work man, very inspiring I'm good with all the tools you use, but don't know how to weld at all and your welding looked pretty good for not being a welder, once again love the job keep up the good work
Thanks....I'm not a welder myself...I just searched TH-cam and did my homework before I jumped on the task...that's what I do for everything even if I know how to do something because you can always use more knowledge
i see you gave me a shotout fam. I honestly and truely appreciate it fam. It does mean alot. Im gonna alwayz support what you do fam because I myself do custom work also. My man smart as hell and know his craft/art very well. Awesome!!

Awesome thanks for the video. You've inspired me. Think that what fit 98 Dakota extended cab
Thanks man. I'm not real sure because you got to make sure it'll slide back
SprayWayCustoms after looking at the Dakota I don't think it will.
What kind of vehicle should I look for to put a roof in a 83 cutlass? I think a nissan quest sunroof would be too big.
2000 and up Monte Carlo, Grand Prix or Impalas will work fine. They're top sliders
All I can say is bruh the TRUTH on that automotive restoration. love the videos Bruh!! keep up the inspiration got me trying new projects too lol
Thanks for the support and staying tuned in bro
man i love yo step by step instructions you do better than superb work man, very inspiring I'm good with all the tools you use, but don't know how to weld at all and your welding looked pretty good for not being a welder, once again love the job keep up the good work
