I was the biggest Debbie downer on the run up to the 2012 London Olympics. I complained about the road closures, parks closures....everything you can think of, I complained. I recall our government advising us not do our daily things and I was complained that I pay taxes I should be able to do what I want etc 😄. However, when it came round, it was a really nice atmosphere. I think most tourists stayed away from London unless they were visiting specifically for the Olympics, so it didn't feel like the city was much busier then a normal summer. I remember embracing it a week into it, when I realised it wasn't the pain in the backside that I thought it was going to be.
Love your new series visiting different arrondissements and will gladly pay for your itineraries/expertise! Thanks for all you do and share! I love your authenticity!
I’m glad you’re charging for your itineraries. Your time is worth it. You also spend time researching before you make the recommendations. Keep up the good work! Still love your channel. ❤
On jay swanson they said 6 million visiters. And very high security everything will be a tjeckpoint you go through. Many locals. Many. Are leaving during the olympics.
Having lived through the Olympics in London, seems very similar. No discounted tickets and a lottery, we got tickets at 3rd draw. It was a wonderful experience, much better than I was expecting. We went to hockey and basketball.
That color is 🔥 on you! I live in the NYC area and work in Manhattan so I can sympathize to a point with the tourists. I feel like Paris just has to be a different level, though!
I get there on the Sept 8th I’m hoping a lot of people will have gone home by then? The Olympics will bring in a lot of money to France. The Vancouver Olympics were controversial for us but all went well and the city look beautiful. Same for Expo.
In general I have been surprised how much better things usually go in places hosting the Olympics. Locals leave, if they can, tourists stay away and things go well. I have always been surprised how many people volunteer to help out to welcome people. You might consider doing that.
I'm sorry I had to pause the video at 7:47 because I am so offended that they did that to your red velvet cake! HERESY!!!!! Red velvet is ONLY CREAM CHEESE ICING!!! Whipped icing, god in heaven, I'm going to have a heart attack. Red velvet cake is my favorite cake too, so I would've cried as well! AHHH omg!!!!!!!! GIRL you poor thing!!!! More exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!
Oh Ariel, for your own well being stay home when you're sick. There is no work that's worth the amount of discomfort you suffered. And to limit the spread of germs.
Lovely chatty video. I must look up some of your arrondissement stay videos. I wouldnt really choose the 10th as I found out (!) it's very noisy at night! I would recommend the lower (scruffier!) (sorry 6th) end of the 6th arr. (not the expensive posh end),it's nice,it's quiet,it's by the Jardin du Luxembourg and it's just as historic and interesting but lesser known. That's my unasked for opinion! I know how it is when you've booked something way in advance, planned it,paid up for everything then you feel ill the day before - but you go anyway because you've paid ALL THAT MONEY! And often it does work out, thank goodness.
are you considering turning your itinerary tours into actual paid tours? and which you answered about the website, but I'm wondering if you would do actual paid tours with a few channel followers?
So I live in Florida but am transplanted from Brooklyn New York. My family (my husband & 2 kids) left after 911 to move to a safer more open space to raise the kids. But Florida has become so overcrowded. First, bc it is warm all year long there is no tourist “season”. That season is all 12 months. Next is the snow birds that come down here from Canada & the northern states. They usually come after Xmas & don’t leave till around Easter. Also, Florida is the no 1 state for ppl looking to retire. The amount of growth since I moved here in Jan of 2002 is staggering. But the state has not been able to keep up with everything that comes with this amount of people. Like schools, roads, restaurants, doctors, police, firefighters, just everyday resources that r needed on a daily basis to accommodate that many people. I’m sure there r still some areas that r still rural but for the most part it is cities surrounded by suburbia.
You should never feel bad or apologetic about charging for your work. This is your job. I think it's totally inappropriate for youtube viewers to always expect everything for free. They don't do their jobs for free.
You turned up on my recommendations , I have watched bits 1 or 2 times before......wanted to know if you were still complaining...eh oui! So I will complain too.....Why do you pronounce the t in croissant??? You live in Paris, you live with a Frenchman....Dorothy, you are not in Hamilton anymore.....or are you " in your head" (chose Hamilton randomly as it sounds like the blandest city in Canada)..... . Not long ago you were a tourist, you moved to Paris and now non, non, non pas de tourists..so if you are going to kvetch continually about one thing or another , good luck getting to 15K.
@pomme800 So you've watched bits of 1 or 2 videos and you just HAD to leave a negative comment. Very sad. Arielle, please ignore these comments. I love that you give us a taste of what it is really like to live in Paris. I have watched every single one of your videos and loved each of them!
I don’t think she should necessarily ignore all negative comments. I get a little annoyed with an otherwise good friend who lives in Paris ( originally from USA) when she complains about tourists.
Wow, what is wrong with you? Sounds like you're either jealous or obsessed. You're so obsessed that you checked to see how many subscribers she has! You must have a miserable, boring life.

Me too so that when I go back with more than 3 days time I will have better references.
Sounds like you had covid. Thank you for powering through so we can see Paris. Peace 🕊️

Traditional Southern Red Velvet Cake has a French ermine frosting. I’m with you, though. I love cream cheese frosting on most cakes.
I love a good Ermine icing on Red Velvet. Cream Cheese icing on Carrot Cake, yes please.

Would LOVE to experience the Sound of Music bus trip with you!!!! Yes!!!

I thought we had learned to stay home when sick 😬

We’re going to our seaside house during the Olympics 😅 bye Paris
Hi. Just wondering do French supermarket chains do home delivery like Instacart?
Not at my knowledge
Best podcast for running sessions! ❤
Thanks jean 😛❤️

Just so you know we cannot hear any of the outside sounds you are hearing.

There's a Costco in Paris?? Lol
Did u test for covid?
If I can say, sometimes your words slur together, because you talk kind of fast, and I don’t understand some of the things you’re saying.
She was definitely buzzing in this video.
Totally fine for me, and English is not my mothertongue. Keep up the great work,Ariel!
I'm staying in 17th🎉🎉

I think that's what her schtick is. At least what I've seen over the past year.
