I love creating art inspired by the Master Artists, and Henri Matisse is one of my favorites. In this art tutorial we will take inspiration from the famous Matisse Cut-Outs.
We will use hand painted papers and your Gelli prints and roll offs. If you don’t have those you can just paint copy paper with acrylic paints or even use other printed papers you may have on hand.
I love using my Gelli papers as the print making process leaves us with seconds or imperfect pieces we hate to throw out, and this art project gives us a great way to use them in a creative way. Taking inspiration from the masters to create an art piece is one of my favorite things to do as they have so much to teach us about color, composition, line and well all of the Elements of Art! Thanks Ariana, i hope you liked it. I plan to do more process for Gelli, most of these papers were just “seconds” or imperfect ones and brayer roll offs. It’s fun to use them up in collage projects because they’re still full of really great colors and textures.
