The exercises really do take you very quickly into right brain though. You can and will be able to shift over to right brain and unlock your ability to draw. Just work slowly through the exercises in the workbook and you will be surprised! I do always recommend a 2 phase approach using traditional drawing methods such as outlined in the other face drawing books I've recommended which use proportions, shapes and angles and combining it with right brain techniques to fast track your right brain skills at the same time. Once everything kicks in you'll be drawing well in no time. Good luck!

@@Bellamarcella1212 that’s the other thing… I didn’t realise - from the many reviews - that it focussed on face drawing. I have no interest in that at all! So I think you saved me some money and disappointment!

@@phillewis3108 Im so glad! That’s why I do these flip throughs for people so you can see the books and really know what’s inside. Some of the right brain exercises like faces and vases which are just warm ups and not really faces at all, and blind contour drawing - you can find online and will help you greatly. You can use blind contour to draw anything not just a face. I demonstrate it in my video How to Draw Heads and Faces part 2. It can be applied to anything you want to draw though if you want to check it out. Faces and Vases you can google its a great drawing warm up.

@@karenparker7830 I love gouache which does rhyme with squash. I review the Shin Han and compare it to the pricier brands in a previous video. I’m a huge fan of both. Shminke is a very high end brand and recently released this “student” set. I can tell you it is on par with higher end watercolors I’ve tried and very much like Windsor Newton and contains some lovely granulating colors. A very nice set.

@@djC653 I’m not sure what you’re asking but I use the faces and vases, blind contour studies like the hand drawings as warm ups 10 minutes before drawing or painting class. The other projects can be done as longer studies over a period of time. You can always return to them and/ or use them as warm ups before drawing sessions for as long as you want to even after you have gone through the entire book. Warming up and practicing drawing is something you just do as an artist forever.

The original course was designed as a 5 day intensive; 5 days, 7 hours per day. You can take as long as you would like to go through it at your own pace. But this sound like a riddle, hmm if we did them all in one day - one day right? I use the book as a tool and teach using the handbook. I have always been able to draw but love the way she teaches negative space in such an easy to understand way.

You’re welcome, I’m so glad you liked it! Honestly I use both Gelli and Speedball. I even have a few small ones that a friend gave me that are a no name brand that I expected nothing from that work great, I took them thinking I’d bring them to work because I teach kids, which I’ve used them for but I use them myself too. I really haven’t seen a difference in any of the commercial brands honestly. I started gel printing long before Gelli, when we made our own from actual geletin and glycerin so it’s amazing to have so many choices now.
