Alex Childress I could not have said it better. He will be as great as them. I have full confidence that the whole band will rock the world in ways that no new band has in decades. As they continue to grow into their sound, they will build upon the classics to create something powerful that the world hasn't heard yet, just as Led Zeppelin stood on the shoulders of blues legends to create their signature hard rock sound fifty years ago. I look forward to hearing what Greta Van Fleet gives us.
you act like there haven't been a shit ton of rock bands in the last 40 years. If you feel like there haven't been "actual" rock bands that are for more original and creative than this, then you haven't been looking hard at all.
Just found these guys within the past week... I had given up on new music for the most part, but I heard "Highway Tune" by these guys on my random Spotify radio station (Zeppelin or Jack White) and was in the other room... and literally thought 'What the fuck song is this and what Zeppelin album is this from?" and couldn't figure it out (obviously) and stormed back into the other room and saw the name of this band. Blew my mind. I was almost 100% certain that some unreleased tracks from Zep had just surfaced and were leaked or something... little did I know it was a band of teenagers from my state of Michigan. Very happy to hear it and it gives me hope for the future of music.
Janet Bergman Raven Eye opened for The Darkness at The House of Blues New Orleans. They were Stellar ! Extremely Nice and appreciative meeting the fans too.
Because they sound like some of the older bands, that’s why I love them. That whole entire vibe is what’s missing from a lot of rock today. They’re not a revivalist band, far from it, and it shows. They just want to share good music with every one and they don’t care who it pleases and who it doesn’t! ♥️
They are really good that makes no doubt but I just listened Since I've been loving you (TSRTS version) for the 1000th time and there is no metch to led zeppelin they were gods. Even their debut live in Denmark in 1969 is incredible with insane improvisation. However they are really good and this is definitively very good rock music
You hear so many influences here - not only Zeppelin and Rush, but the rawness of Neil Young, the straight ahead approach of AC/DC, and the 3 piece sound of the James Gang. Wow, good luck guys!
@Jupiter jealous of what? They are not original and they are copying another band from the ground up. I value originality and ground breaking which these guys are neither.
This is my favorite GVF song. Although I love all of their songs, this just hits a different depth than their other songs. That chorus gives me goosebumps every time.
Proof that people will complain about anything. These boys hit all the notes, write great songs, perform live like seasoned veterans, and have their sound mix down cold. And they'll likely only get better. I mean krikey.....they're only teens.
Because it's derivative drivel; they should strive to sound like Greta Van Fleet, rather than dressing, moving, sounding and behaving like Led Zeppelin
Do you know that Rock had hundreds of sub genres.? Metal is a sub-genre of rock. So technically you are right, this is a rock band. But if you want to be more specific, you can go for hard rock
Tom Atkinson I would clarify his statement as “an Actual Rock N Roll band” Rock is a fairly loose term and can group many modern bands into... very few Rock N Roll bands actually come out any more.
Rock and Roll isn't dead, ladies and gentlemen! These awesome millenials are keeping rock alive. I don't care if they sound like Led Zep. Greta Van Fleet is now part of my playlist.
These guys aren't Millennials. Millenials were officially born between 1981 and 1996. Greta Van Fleet are Generation Z. People need to stop automatically labelling "young people" as Millennials. The majority of us Millennials are in our 30s now (I'm 32). Yes, shocking, time moved on :P.

can tell he had a lot of professional vocal training. His form is very particular, great use of vocal dynamics, sings from his diaphragm the proper way., rather than falsetto like most these days. & The part at 3:00, that the rest of the band is playing sounds so much like the middle part of Led Zeppelins No Quarter from the song remains the same. These guys are so good! I'm mesmerized and confused how great they are and their insanely Zeppelinesque sound lol
How this audience can sit there so sedately through one of the most vibrant, electrifying rock songs ever performed is a mystery for the ages. I'd be air drumming, devil's-horns pumping, head banging and/or generally bopping up and down in my seat!
Mr. Dark he only sounds like that because he's trying to save his voice, constantly doing that is really killer. He knows to only sing his best when he's in the bigger concerts, if he keeps on singing like he does in the recording by the time he's 30 reaching 40 the surgeries won't help anymore
I mean even Robert Plant smoked and did coke and everything, things known for "destroying voices" but honestly considering that's something he was born with I think the odds are more in his favor than against him that he can probably pick up any number of bad habits and retain it. Another thing is touring musicians are constantly exercising their vocals, so idk, I am not saying get a drug problem and be a rock cliche or anything although it is a risk factor, the fact remains the same that no vocal coach in the world could teach him to do what he can do. I am not saying he doesn't work at it, but at the end of the day that's nothing short of talent he has. Period. Can't say the same as much for the rest of his band. They're good, don't get me wrong, but what he can do is like Michael Jackson compared to the Jackson Five levels of talent. At the end of the day though he probably won't roll on his family until it comes time for him to embark on a solo career and I wouldn't be shocked at all if that happened. AMEN, to that. I saw them on 10/03, with extremely high expectations and they EXCEEDED them. I got to meet & hang out with Sam Kiska (bass/keys), Jake Kiska (guitar), and Danny Wagner (drums) after the show. They said Josh was staying in the bus to "rest his instrument"! Lol. However, Josh DID grin and wave at me from the bus window. All I could see were his eyes and his fingers waving. It was cute & made me smile and wave back. The other three are amazingly humble, kind, courteous, articulate, funny & friendly young men. I loved their music BEFORE I saw them. After seeing them & hanging out with them & the other 10-15 fans who stuck around after the show, I am now a LIFELONG fan. Their double EP, "From the Fires," is scheduled to drop on 11/10/2017. It will contain the 4 tracks from their "Black Smoke Rising" EP & 4 additional tracks.
This by far the best band to come out of this decade. I had pretty much given up on the modern music industry until I heard these guys sing. I hope that they achieve the success that they deserve. Well done, gentlemen!
One very important tip: don't overproduce your albums!!! Leave a rawness to them, record them live in studio. Zeppelin had possibly the best produced rock albums of all time, and that makes a HUGE difference in your sound.
It sounded just a tad overproduced but pretty good for 2017 standards. The singer I feel struggles to hit quite the notes he hit in the studio but he might've had a bad day who knows
i know other bands have done this. But it always amazes me that one electric and one bass can musically fill a song like this. So involved. What a band.
Mr. Dark hahahahahaha I just checked ONE comment and you were there saying the same thing again. You really need to take that hatred off you don't you?
Also thats his voice at his worst. He sounds so much better live now. Think he figured out how to prepare properly before a show, which is not always easy for singers.
Definitely like this song more than the popular up-and-coming Highway Tune. His range and precision is damn impressive. I do hope they eventually dabble in the prog-rock arts at some point
This song is special. Instantly familiar through its influences, but unique in its delivery and message. Not sure why anyone would bash these kids, I'm all in.
To all the haters These kids are a breath of fresh air! I have been on the country kick for years untill I herd these guys and I will see them in concert real soon and I just found out we live in the same county! Its on! Keep up the good work guys!
That's better, Real Sound with Dynamic Range. So much better than the Dead Live recordings I've heard so far. I'll be doing an Old Fashioned Thing and buying their CD!
The singer is the best thing about the band. He is realllly spectacular. And you absolutely cannot hope to emulate Led Zeppelin's sound without a seriously good singer. And the most charming thing about him? He just can't help but smile during these songs.
Josh has his own sound. If you listen to them for awhile... they don’t sound like anyone else. People of the 70’s this is what we have been missing for 40 years.
I am blow away,I've just experienced this band.I am a musician and I believe this band brings out the youth in me and when I first heard LED Zep.Real music!!
I had given up hope for music many years ago, but after hearing these guys, my faith in humanity is restored. Who cares if they sound like Zeppelin, that is NOT a bad thing!!
I'm sure it's beginning to sink in, but these kids will hopefully have some smart advice as the months progress. They are as hot as a firecracker and are going to be in serious demand. Right here in Wilmington, NC a buddy in the biz who it tied into concert promotion said, after I pulled them up on TH-cam, he was going to make a call....to get them here as soon as possible. And what's super about them is that in all their interviews they seem to be grounded and unassuming. They're having fun. And I love their story of the little Michigan town, the elderly lady (Gretna) who is getting a kick out of them taking her name, with only removing the "n," and that there are three brothers, twins no less. Damn, I'm 72, and have seen everything from Chuck Berry, Bill Haley and the Comets to Steely Dan and Mumford and Sons....and these puppies are fun. My concert buddy and I will drive, within reason, serious miles to see them. My 29 year old attorney daughter in Chicago sent me three links to their songs and had only one comment....."Enjoy!"
Jack Weiss ditto ditto ditto, and me too! I haven't SEEN Chuck Berry or Bill Haley and the Comets, but grew up listening to them on my parents' '45rpm vinyl, but I HAVE seen the Stones, the Who, the Grateful Dead, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, among other great classic rockers, to REM, The War on Drugs, and Børns, and this band also blew me away!
Being completely honest, OMFG! what a great band, I start to listen at them a couple weeks ago and I didn't search any image or extra information besides their music. And now I'm blown away 'cause I would NEVER imagine that they look like this hahaha. I mean, they're so young, talented and sound so old and professional. Amazing! That's when you realized that music aren't totally lost
Triumph...right from the first chord. This has all kinds of elements of 70s stadium rock..I hear Zepellin, Rush, Triumph, even some Grace Slick like others have said. I absolutely love them....we didnt have this when I was growning up in the Grunge era...this is a breathe of fresh air.
I don’t care who they sound like, they just sound kickass...
Tru' dat! That's all that matters!
Fuckin' exactly.
Only criteria I ever had was "will I listen to this again?"
Yes.....the answer is yes.
@@lawsonfan5797 No hate mail here! These young men give it there all, and US as fans, are totally behind them!
Not just sound like but act like, especially Josh, he mimics Robert Plants mannerisms. Still doesn't detract form their performance though.

Three songs in and I'm already an immediate fan.
Jack Of Shades me too!
they only have four songs lol
Me too
Well you’ve only got one more unfortunately. Sure they’re working on more- I hope.
Yep should have 4 more songs on a new EP in a couple of weeks. Hopefully a full 2018 album that will surely be a masterpiece.

Joy Munson 800% that awesome, I’m going to use that from now on. 👍 lol
I was originally hooked with 'highway tune', but now that I've heard more and more I'm convinced -- rock and roll is reborn in 2017.
Jeremy Falkner also, check out "The Lemon Twigs" They also gave life to the dying rock n' roll

Same here, Highway Tune caught my ear first, but I think I like this one better. Their whole album is great though.

They are great. But come on ... LED ZEPPELIN they can never EVER EVER be matched they are LED ZEPPELIN
HAHHAHA
TheRealCritique shh let people enjoy things
IAmStoned. Thaz the way you like to hear them. It's not as doable as you think.
Yeah their stuff is definitely produced quite a bit. Plus in the studio you have 1,000,000x to get it right. And they can splice together good takes.
The first time I heard the greta I fell in love at first. I am a fan of these boys. Congratulations and many successes to the group.
I hate how disrespectful we are sometimes :/ there are people on their phones during their performance!!!
Wenyi108 they’ll regret when these guys become worldwide phenomenons 💯💯💯
thats the generation gap mate people nowdays dont appreciate true talent
To compensate, millions are on phone to listen to them now
Andreas Pavlou the words of an ignoramus
Your comment should have got 10,000 likes. You are so right cell phones for ruin our culture.
what a voice!
BookFreakyTube Yes, exactly!
So, so glad they're bringing back the sort of music I grew up with!
Absolutely amazing! His voice, totally epic!
These guys are oozing with talent, soul and are a God send, thank God we have some real music again, my ears will be happy again.
i know other bands have done this. But it always amazes me that one electric and one bass can musically fill a song like this. So involved. What a band.
Are you kidding me??? Seriously??? Is this real??? what a band...... DAMN!!!!!!
MrDavidhasslehoff Lies
Yes its a real band asshole
Josh's smile! 😍😍😍 Also damn what a voice! I just love GVF.
They all must get all the chicks
Too bad he sounded like complete shit..... This was far from his best....
Mr. Dark hahahahahaha I just checked ONE comment and you were there saying the same thing again. You really need to take that hatred off you don't you?
Mr. Dark what are you talking about, he sounded almost like he does on the double ep, ya this isn't his best he's had better but this is still good
Also thats his voice at his worst. He sounds so much better live now. Think he figured out how to prepare properly before a show, which is not always easy for singers.
These kids are amazing. This is the first exciting rock band I've seen in decades. Well done guys, keep it going.
mercster What about Ghost? They’re fantastic and actually sound unique.
Already wearing their shirt with pride😎💪😊
Instant fan. These guys will make history
Definitely like this song more than the popular up-and-coming Highway Tune. His range and precision is damn impressive. I do hope they eventually dabble in the prog-rock arts at some point
Shit. This is 70's rock in the 2017. This band is killer. Just like Zep in the 70's.
what a singer, what a band!... best wishes!
I'm so impressed by these young brothers from Michigan. It's been a long time since a we've been treated to some fresh rock n' roll talent.
Pure Badass Rock, these guys don't fool around.
studio wise I hear moe Robert Plant. But live I hear more early Geddy Lee. I wanna hear them cover some old Rush.
John Stramiello as Much as I do too it would set them a step back. they’re not out to be a cover band.
they'd be better as a cover band
@@haydenharris4611 i don't think so, they could do one song, no need to be a cover band
love these guys, oh to be a teenager again..
Right? They came along about 30 years too late for me! ;)
Até quem em fim surge uma banda de rock de verdade depois de anos.
Forza Motorsport Brazuca concordo
Rock and roll voltou
Kkkkk I believe in miracles!!
Putz tô louco com o som dos caras! Sensação de que o rock não acabou.
Foda se as outras banda só quero rock roll nos meus ouvido
It's like watching 60's and 70's rock music live but in HD.
Crazy how far they’ve come since this performance. Josh has really found his voice.
One of the best live performances of Black Smoke Rising
This is my favorite version of Black Smoke Rising
just when you think rock n roll has lost its soul, bam.. there it is
Wooooho, right on man !!
Never thought that before
they are just ripping off led zep, they are pathetic
Rob D. Wow, what kind of music do you listen to, or what don't you listen to, to think R 'n R is dead? Rock 'n Roll never dies
DiamondDave
So fucking true. Blatant rip off
His voice gives me chills
This song is special. Instantly familiar through its influences, but unique in its delivery and message. Not sure why anyone would bash these kids, I'm all in.
To all the haters These kids are a breath of fresh air! I have been on the country kick for years untill I herd these guys and I will see them in concert real soon and I just found out we live in the same county! Its on! Keep up the good work guys!
That's better, Real Sound with Dynamic Range. So much better than the Dead Live recordings I've heard so far. I'll be doing an Old Fashioned Thing and buying their CD!
What's range if you can't control your voice?
The best new band in years, wow, awesome
Everytime I see them play I’m just blown away. This isn’t supposed to happen.
The singer is the best thing about the band. He is realllly spectacular. And you absolutely cannot hope to emulate Led Zeppelin's sound without a seriously good singer. And the most charming thing about him? He just can't help but smile during these songs.
Rock n' Roll may sometimes fade from the charts. But young bands like these guys keep the fire raging on! I'm a fan now.
I grew up with 70's Rock and these guys are throw backs and seriously talented. To me, they are like an Offspring of Led Zeppelin and Rush.
Someone needs to make a video: “The Evolution Of Jake Kiszka’s Back Bend”
Even those voice cracks sound angelic
They are just gorgeous...
I love this band with all my heart
magic pure magic
I had given up hope for music many years ago, but after hearing these guys, my faith in humanity is restored. Who cares if they sound like Zeppelin, that is NOT a bad thing!!
did... did i just hear... music??? new, music??? from an actual band?
If you like this, check out Rival Sons, The Temperance Movement and The Answer
Bruh you need to listen to more music
Piss off
I know ... its still shocking to me
@@OscarJTrump whatever
Jack Weiss Do you like Dion?
Jack Weiss ditto ditto ditto, and me too! I haven't SEEN Chuck Berry or Bill Haley and the Comets, but grew up listening to them on my parents' '45rpm vinyl, but I HAVE seen the Stones, the Who, the Grateful Dead, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, among other great classic rockers, to REM, The War on Drugs, and Børns, and this band also blew me away!
Jack Weiss That's a good daughter you've got there!
Jack Weiss Fantastic
Muita qualidade!! Parabéns..
