    • @truthgiver8286
      @truthgiver8286 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    • @truthgiver8286
      @truthgiver8286 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @LightThatCigar How can I provide a coherent response for you when you seem incapable of understanding the simplest of things. when judging the reliability of any book one of the first things you would ask yourself is who wrote it and your answer is what does it matter. A set of books about Jesus that don't know his date of birth contradict themselves on who his grandfather is and claim 3 completely different phrases for his last words are not very reliable and it would seem the authors did not know Jesus at all so the telling point is not that we don't know who the authors are but that the authors were not Matthew, Mark, Like (🤣) and John. ooo look another typo

    • @truthgiver8286
      @truthgiver8286 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @LightThatCigar I am saying if he was the son of god he would be the most important man that ever lived so how come nobody knows his date of birth. Three kings or wise men visited and called him king of kings but did not record their visit or write a solitary thing about him. Joseph and Mary travelled back Bethlehem for the Roman Census but the Romans never made the people go back to their home town for any of their census and they had a few but none between the years 1BC or 1AD
      Matthew said Jesus war born in Bethlehem at the time of King Herod. Luke say it was while Quirinius was governor of Syria unfortunately Quirinius was not governor of Syria until 10 years after Herod’s death. Matthew said Jacob was Josephs father but Luke said it was Heli. There is no consensus but nothing at all was written about Jesus during his lifetime Theist's put the first writings at about 30 years after he was supposedly crucified non theists reckon it was later. is this critical enough for you?

    • @truthgiver8286
      @truthgiver8286 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @LightThatCigar Your ignorance is shining through. You can not refute anything I have said so the best you have is call it absurd nonsense that's been thrown around for 2000 years. What isn't absurd nonsense is that your claim can be refuted by a simple wiki search which provides the answer :-
      "In Christian tradition, the Four Evangelists are Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, the authors attributed with the creation of the four canonical Gospel accounts. In the New Testament, they bear the following titles: the Gospel of Matthew; the Gospel of Mark; the Gospel of Luke; and the Gospel of John. These names were assigned to the works by the early church fathers in the 2nd century AD; none of the writers signed their work." The only thing you have managed to get right is the typo in my first post

    Are the gospels legends?
    Another point is that on that view you would have to regard the accounts of the Man as being legends. Now, as a literary historian, I am perfectly convinced that whatever else the Gospels are they are not legends. I have read a great deal of legend and I am quite clear that they are not the same sort of thing. They are not artistic enough to be legends. From an imaginative point of view they are clumsy, they don’t work up to things properly. Most of the life of Jesus is totally unknown to us, as is the life of anyone else who lived at that time, and no people building up a legend would allow that to be so. Apart from bits of the Platonic dialogues, there are no conversations that I know of in ancient literature like the Fourth Gospel. There is nothing, even in modern literature, until about a hundred years ago when the realistic novel came into existence. In the story of the woman taken in adultery we are told Christ bent down and scribbled in the dust with His finger. Nothing comes of this. No one has ever based any doctrine on it. And the art of inventing little irrelevant details to make an imaginary scene more convincing is a purely modern art. Surely the only explanation of this passage is that the thing really happened? The author put it in simply because he had seen it.
    C.S. Lewis, "What Are We to Make of Jesus Christ?" (1950)

      Well said James. My question for Pastor White is always the same. Where is faith in your presentation of the Reliability of Scripture? He always states that we can trust the manuscripts, but his sources (mss) are questionable. Codex Sinaiaticus is the one manuscript that MCT advocates lean on most, yet the manuscript itself is questionable with the inclusion of pseudepigrepha (Apocrypha, Shepherd of Hermas and Gospel of Barnabas). Not only is the manuscript full of holes, but it propogates false doctrine and is the exact source of the greatest division the church has ever known. If a translation was done without the use of Sinaiaticus, I would consider it. As it stands, I summarily reject Codex Sinaiaticus as a trustworthy manuscript. How can any spirit filled believer trust a manuscript that came from a monastery, that has been protected by Islam for more than 1,000 years and counting?
      The reason why I love and use the NASB in counseling is that the Lockman Foundation used all the manuscripts in translating the text. The inclusion of those texts that are in question is evidence of this. While they are bracketed, it is no different than the notes in the side column of the KJV. The Pericope Adultere', Latter Ending of Mark and Acts 8:37 are some key texts that were restored. This cannot be said for the NIV, CSB or ESV. How can we base our faith on a document that was given to us by Islam? Look for yourself on Google Earth and see the Quarter Moon symbol of Islam outside the wall of Saint Catherine's Monastery, as well as the Mosque inside the walls, designed for Muslims as a place of rest. I submit to you and all who read these words...Codex Sinaiaticus is a work of Islam. It was either written there or inserted by Islamic Clerics. That document was written by Satan! The division that it has caused in the church is devastating. How can it be trustworthy?
      The KJV, NKJV, MEV, Bishop's Bible, 1560/99 Geneva and others; these are the trusted texts that come from the Byzantine textual tradition. These along with Stephanus 1550 and Beza 1567 are all I need for serious study. I have a consistent family of manuscripts that agrees one with another, and produces the most trusted translation the world has ever known. ____ _____ _______ fill in the blanks. Blessings to you sir, in Jesus name.

      ---The New American Bible (NAB), originally published in 1970, is the first American lexicon-oriented Catholic Bible. The translation was compiled by Catholic scholars from the original biblical languages: Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic-as a base text instead of the Latin Vulgate.

      >>>>Released on March 9, 2011, the NABRE consists of the 1986 revision of the NAB New Testament with a fully revised Old Testament approved by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in 2010. Leviticus 25). The jubilee year was called every fifty years and was a time for forgiveness.
      That is according to the Holy Bible.
      The RCC says: How many years is a jubilee year?
      25 years
      In the Roman Catholic Church, jubilees began to be celebrated formally in 1300 AD and are years of forgiveness of sins and reconciliation. They are celebrated every 25 years. The most recent year of jubilee was 2000.
      --CC says: How is this Jubilee different from other Jubilee years?
      The Jubilee of Mercy that Pope Francis has called, from December 8, 2015 - November 20, 2016, is an Extraordinary Jubilee. This designation as an "Extraordinary Jubilee" sets it apart from the ordinary cycle of jubilees, or holy years, which are called every 25 years in the Catholic Church.

    Yes, people who have not attended college get their "academic kick" from the intellectual talks by these college-educated speakers.
    However, what would Jesus think?
    Our young people certainly are not impressed because once they leave the family nest, they do not choose to go to church.

      @user-rk1qo6wi5n My standards are not reality-based? Let's start with our definition of reality. I'll begin:
      Reality (Capital 'R') is the realm of all real phenomena. A real (little 'r') phenomenon is that which occurs at a particular point in space (location) at a particular point in time and is _observable_ at such location and time. This includes objects, events, entities, processes, substances, systems, and beings. If it occurs at a particular point in space and time and is observable at that point in space and time, it is a _reality!_

      There are people out there that claim Jesus is God.
      THen tell me. when Jesus was praying in the Garden of Gethsame (Luke 22:42 ) “Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me-nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
      WHo is Jesus talking to?? Himself???
      On the cross-----John 19:11 11 Jesus answered, "You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin."
      Since Jesus is on the cross--who is Jesus talking about???
      -----Luke 23:46 46Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit”; and when he had said this he breathed his last. 47The centurion who witnessed what had happened glorified God and said, “This man was innocent* beyond doubt.”

      32:Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
