@JosephBelloo Thanks for your opinion now I will give you truth Jesus Christ gave his authority to peter to build his church the bible was put together by the Catholic Church in the 3rd century Christianity didn’t change till the 16th century when a Catholic priest Martin Luther stripped down the bible and created traditions of men(denominations) the rapture is a false 19th century doctrine not based on scripture and divided even amongst the denominations. If you want to follow and understand Christ join his church the one, holy, apostolic Catholic Church

The Catholics were in Alexandria, Egypt, where agnosticism reigned?
Did they transcribe the Codex Sinaiticus, which disagreed with the Codex Vaticanus no less than 8000 times?

      Houston, we have a problem.

    • @o.o.2255
      @o.o.2255 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@n9wff First off, there is no problem.
      1) You mean “Gnosticism?” OR “Agnostics?” Your headline narrative implies false assumptions. I’ll explain.
Catholicism IS and WAS the only Christian Way of converting people, most of the bishops, priests and Christians (before 400 AD and BEFORE there was a Holy Bible of 73 books) were tortured AND killed (martyred) for the beliefs we Catholics still hold today and Protestants heretically reject, almost all 30K+ denominations, each as their own pope differently interpreting the scriptures.
You should thank the Catholic church for defending the faith (1 Tim 3:15) who preserved and died for Christ and His one church. Irenaues of Lyons, Ignatius, Justin Martyr, and many others including Councils debated and considered these “Gnostics” heretics because many of their so-called “Special Knowledge”
Was never taught by the apostles and these so-called hidden writings were somehow only given to them. Catholics fought these ideas. Bottom line, whether you meant Gnostics or Agnostics, Catholics were the only ones Evangelizing in Alexandria Egypt. Today, the Coptic Catholics are of the same spirit - belief unto death. Recently there were 21 Coptic Christians (Catholics) who were beheaded on a beach by Muslims. (In history, protestants hated Catholics so much, they sided with the muslims)… dont take my word for it, look it up.
      2) Codex Sianiticus. Ahh yes, you must FIRST read church history
BEFORE trying to call out the Catholics who were inspired by the Holy Spirit to recognize the 73 books of the bible we all enjoy today. And AFTER the 4 centuries of mortal persecutions to preserve Orthodox teachings when there was no new testament available to everyone and risked their lives to preserve and disseminate those writings to each under penalty of death.
The bible is a Catholic book.
A little church history below in case you were ignorant. I was like you, too and vehemently anti-Catholic UNTIL the Holy Spirit taught me these things, of which now I am sharing with you.
2a) In 367 AD, After Catholic Council of Nicaea, Bishop of Alexandria, Athanasius in his 39th (of 45 annual festal or Easter letters) recognized for the first time, 27 books of the New Testament
2b) In 382 AD, Pope Damasus for the first time decrees a single Holy Bible should be created. Thousands of manuscripts and Letters (remember, these all had to be Collected from everywhere) and adjudicated as either Accepted, Rejected, or “Uncertain.”
The litmus test used was 3-fold:
2bi) Did an apostle or successor to apostle write these?
2bii) these writings ever read in the underground church in the previous 400 years?, and
2biii) Did the writings align with the Orthodox teachings passed down from apostle to apostle to apostle (Deacons, Bishops, and Elders)?
If so, they were admitted as part of the 73 books of the canon.
      3) The Old Testament was fairly easy to admit. All 46 books derived from the Greek Septuagint established by Jewish Greek Scribes in 250 BC decreed by King Ptolemy. All 72 scribes were separated by the King
And when they finished, all 72 copies in the Library of Alexandria showed them to be nearly exactly the same. Talk about Holy Spirit Inspired.
3a) The Septuagint was the OT bible used by Paul and the apostles and in Acts 17:11 by the Bereans who all spoke Greek.
3b) The 4 Great Codices INCLUDING Codex Sianticus included those 7 Deuterocanon books which were removed from Protestant bibles in the 1880s by the British and Foreign Bible Society because it was too expensive to print AND these were converting Protestants to Catholics.
THEN the Gideons widely disseminated these chopped up
Protestant bibles in hotels, hospitals, schools, and prisons eluding to the historically ignorant, that Catholics added 7 books. That’s a recent lie in just past 100 years.
      4) Finally, in 382, 397 & 416 at the Councils of Hippo and Cathage, respectively, the CATHOLIC CHURCH guided by the Holy Spirit determined the 73 books of the bible (46 OT and 27 NT).
4a) St Jerome, who spoke Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, and Latin translated the deluge of manuscripts into one language, Latin, which was the Language of the world at the time (Greek before that and English in modern world today) into the FIRST Complete OT/NT Holy Bible, the Latin Vulgate. THEN, it was translated into the English called the Douay Rheims.
4b) The Codex Sianaticus was NOT discovered until the 19th century and therefore UNAVAILABLE to the Catholic church in the 4th Century when our Catholic monks (scribes) were painstakingly “handwriting” (no printing presses were available yet) The cost for just one complete bible then was equivalent to one full year’s salary today. They were EXPENSIVE but could have been more but the monks were not working for Money, they were working for God so they were almost free labor.
So NO, we do not have a problem, Houston. We have church history facts demonstrating the infallible Bible is a Catholic book developed by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit through Christ’s one church that He established in Matthew 16:18.
Today, modern Catholic and Protestant bibles rely on several sources, including the 4 Great Codices and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Bibles are translated into 3 major categories:
      4ai) Word for Word
      4aii) Idea for Idea
      4aiii) Phrase for Phrase
I hope this helps with some if your ignorance (and many other protestants - I was one of them for nearly 30 years until just a few years
      ago.)
So pray about who has changed and who has always been the same. Who preserved the faith and continued Orthodox teachings in early history, even unto torture and death. It was Christ’s true and single church, the Catholic church 2,000+ years ago. Protestantism began in mid 1500s and only 500 years old.
IF ITS TRUE, IT’S PROBABLY NOT NEW,
IF ITS NEW, ITS PROBABLY NOT TRUE

Historians no longer spend much time discussing Abraham or Moses, on the grounds that they are clearly mythical. To give one example, K. L. Noll just says in Canaan and Israel in Antiquity: A Textbook on History and Religion, “Abraham and Moses are fictitious characters”.
"I’ll start with what most historians believe regarding Moses, because if Moses did not exist and the Israelites were never sojourned in Egypt, the link is broken and Abraham, by default never really existed. After two hundred years of searching and never finding a scrap of evidence that the Israelite people fled from Egypt in a great biblical Exodus, nearly all historians now say the Exodus never occurred-Israelites were local Canaanite people and the Exodus story was just a foundation myth. There is no evidence for any of the events surrounding the purported Exodus from Egypt and therefore no evidence that the biblical Moses ever existed." Maybe you need to take off *your* tin foil hat and face some actual facts.

I noticed Dr. White didn't discuss any of this nor did he discuss any writings prior to the 3rd century AD.

    • @PreacherwithoutaPulpit
      @PreacherwithoutaPulpit ปีที่แล้ว

The reason I believe in the God of the Bible, the inerrancy of Scripture and that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.
We have a reliable collection of historical documents written by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses. They report super natural events that took place in fulfilment of specific prophecies and claim that their writings are via divine inspiration and not from men alone.
The super natural events are important in that they show the divine nature of God.
Jesus Christ cast out demons, healed the sick, blind, deaf, dumb and paralyzed, walked on water, fed thousands with little, and was resurrected all of which have eyewitness accounts.
The feedings alone were witnessed by the thousands He fed on the two separate occasions that we are told of in the Gospels.
John tells us that there were many more miracles than what are recorded in the Bible/Gospels and that it would have filled volumes of books upon books were he to have written them all down and that it would have taken more than one lifetime to do so.
The claim that men wrote the Bible so it can not be true means that no other book ever written should be believed, no matter the topic as they're all written by man.
The Bible is not just a book it is a collection of books written over a period of thousands of years of which all those books are linked together by One Divine Author. In this collection of books there are over 40 authors but only one Devine Author who links them all together via the Holy Spirit. Those authors wrote down His inspired Word given to them by God.
      66 Volumes/Books in the Bible.
The bulk of the New Testament was written over a period of around 50 years. It was in 49 AD to 53 AD when the Scripture writings of the New Testament are thought to have begun. With the last living Apostle John dying in 100 AD.
Over a period of around 1500 years it was preserved and passed on:
      In 3 Languages
      On 3 Continents
There are 66,360+ source documents that have been found for the entire Bible of which there are 24,360 and counting source documents for the New Testament alone.
5,839 in the original Greek, some 2 million pages
18,524 translations of that Greek into other languages
Some of the oldest sources date to 125AD which is within decades of the completion of all the books that were canonized as the New Testament.
The New Testament cannon, (Gospels of the Apostles/writings, Epistles/letters to the early Churches, all sources and eyewitness accounts that were to be included), was decided at the Synod of Carthage in 397 AD.
Those asking for "Scientific Proof" about the Bible are either ignorant or asking with evil intent. An intelligent person knows that the scientific method can not be applied to verify the Bible.
      Scientific Method is:
      1) Has to be observable.
      2) Has to be measurable.
      3) Has to be repeatable.
Therefore no history can ever be proven via scientific method.
You must use the historical method based on:
      Eyewitnesses accounts.
Documents from the time or as close as possible.
Make sure the story is corroborated by as many sources as possible.
Look for anyone/anything that attempted to prove any of it false in that time period or as close to it as possible.
Did anyone successfully prove any of it untrue?
If they had/have why is there no record found anywhere of it ever being disproven?
      Luke = Historian
A man of science, a physician, an educated and logical man who researched and gathered the accounts of eyewitnesses. He recorded the actual eyewitness accounts of our Lord and Savior, those who had heard Him speak and were present/saw the signs/miracles He performed. He did this because the life of those eyewitnesses were coming to an end due to age and he was inspired to write them down via the Holy Spirit before they could be lost or perverted by time.
      John = Evangelist
John is organized around 7 specific events/signs/miracles all seen by eyewitnesses and corroborated by many. So he also provides proof of accuracy/truth.
Mark = The shortest of the Gospels and is very direct or "Just the Facts" if you like.
Mathew = Was written to the Jewish audience and that's one of the reasons for the extensive genealogy of Christ. There are also more references to the Old Testament in his gospel compared to the others.

Peter = He lays out all the proof for the Bible and it's accuracy in 1 Peter Chapter 1. He makes the arguments that justify it all as truly what happened and that it all happened as recorded in the Gospels, the entire Bible.
All of the Apostles were eyewitnesses of Jesus and/or of the resurrected Christ. Including Paul whom Jesus came to as he was on the road traveling to Damascus to persecute more Christians. This would have been the resurrected Christ or a form of Him that came from Heaven.
There were at least 300 eyewitnesses still alive when Corinthians was written who could have disputed it but no one did.
Mathias became the 12th Apostles after Judas hung himself so the argument of there not being 12 Apostles comes from ignorance or evil intent.
There have been over 25,000 archeological digs in which there has been absolutely no evidence found that proves anything in the entire Bible false but in those digs many things have been found that prove it true.
Other cultures and non believer's historical documents show or corroborate people, places, wars and many things that are in the Bible. Yet none of them prove any of it to be false but they do strengthen it.
Word for Word Translations prove just how accurate what we have is when you consider there's no way anyone could have falsified any of it, be it via intent or mistakes.
Many church fathers in history have made extensive notes that include scripture throughout the centuries and no matter the time or place all those references to scripture corroborate each other. Which shows just how accurate translations have been throughout time and still are as long as they maintain a word for word ideology during the translation.
To falsify any of it they would have to change every single source, do it in three languages, on three continents, over a span of thousands of years, with no one catching any of it, no one ever talking about what they'd done, leaving behind no traces that they'd done it.
Not to mention they'd have to steal all of those sources to change them, changing them would be a massive undertaking considering they were hand written in those times and then put them back without ever being seen or caught during the entire process.
      My last statement is this:
Simply put the Bible can defend itself like a lion just let it loose.
(Use Scripture to defend Scripture because it is a collection of eyewitness accounts that has been proven true again and again).
There's a very good movie titled "The God Who Speaks" that covers much of what I've said above. If you still have doubt I would recommend you watch it and even if you don't because it was very well made and presented.
      Take care and God Bless.

@@everythingdefensivecarry1108 Umm No, the Cannon was ratified in Carthage 397 AD. So according to that council and church fathers there are only 66 books included in the Bible. They reached that determination after years of debate. The reason the "lost books" weren't included in the cannon was due to there being to hard to prove, to many variations existing that were supposed to be authentic, authorship, or divine inspiration ie far to many errors in them to be inspired by the Holy Spirit. Look into church history and you will find the details of what I'm letting you know. Take care and God Bless.

Recently I started seeing TH-cam videos questioning Dead Sea scroll’s authenticity, did Jesus really exist, the true meaning of Yahweh, etc. I’m into apologetics and well grounded in my faith and these scholars have shaken me a little and I frantically prayed and searched asking the Lord to show me the truth and give me clarity to understand the holes in what I was hearing. I want to be able to explain this to my family who have been infested by all the so called scholars sowing doubt. Thank you Dr James White! I will re-listen to this and other resources.

@@JoseSalloum Sister Tajji, please don't listen to these people. They like to spread lies to promote their propaganda of King James Onlyism. They believe the King James is the only authorized version that should be considered the word of God. This is laughable false, and there are many debates online that show this plainly. I made the switch from NKJV to ESV a few years back and haven't looked back since. Still love the KJV and NKJV for it's beauty of language, but accuracy to the original is a wholly different story. You must know that God our Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, that although He hates the sin, He loves the sinner. If they will just come to Him and repent in their heart of hearts of all their sins, and proclaim Him as their Savior, their Lord, the Son of GOD.
      Luke = Historian
A man of science, a physician, an educated and logical man who researched and gathered the accounts of eyewitnesses. He recorded the actual eyewitness accounts of our Lord and Savior, those who had heard Him speak and saw some of the many signs/miracles He performed. He did this because the life of those eyewitnesses were coming to an end and he was inspired to write them down via the Holy Spirit before they could be lost or perverted by time.
      John = Evangelist
There are also more than a few references to the Old Testament in his gospels.

      Take care and God Bless.@@JoseSalloum

Besides the end of this chapter says Jerusalem will no longer be destroyed as Nebuchadnezzar did. However, we all know the siege of Romans in 70 DC actually destroyed all. The only way to understand this, assuming this chapter is ok, is if we interpret this text as a spiritual way, not literally.

      Luke = Historian
      John = Evangelist

Mathew starts with the same reference chapter 5 verse3. Isaiah end with as the new heaven and earth same as Revelation. This shows us that God set the cannon in his perfect order.

And yes, all Scripture is ultimately from God. But it was the Catholic Church that discerned what was or wasn’t inspired Scripture and defined the canon. Note that there are lots and lots of texts that claimed to be Scriptural, but only 73-not 66-books were discerned by the Church to be God breathed and were then included in the canon

23:40 It baffles me how White decides that all of a sudden, after 15 centuries of the existence of the Church, Erasmus (not even by claiming Divine Revelation) had the truth regarding the Bible and decide what should be in the Bible and what not. So, nobody in the Church challenged the supposed changes in the scripture as they were taking place for 12 centuries? It makes no sense. Here, White's argument is not different than that of Bart Ehrman.
23:53 Funnily enough, White is implicitly admitting that the original Church is what he calls the "Roman" Catholic Church, as a petty-cheap attempt to diminish the Church of Christ.

Funny you assumed that the Church (which I think you're referring to the Roman Catholic Church) existed for 1500 years as it is today, papal infallibility, church councils when the metamorphosis of the said church was a gradual development and was only close to what it is today only during the Council of Trent, and that included the decision of the said Roman Church which of the books are included in their Bible. And also, early centuries after Christ died, it was more catholic (or universal) than the so-called Roman "Catholic" Church. With that being said, the 66 Books of the Bible that is recognized by the Protestants is not one that is approved by the Church as Canon, but the rather attest themselves to be God-breathed, thus, would be sufficient basis for it to be called Canon.

We also need to know how the gospel material was preserved until they were written.

    • @PreacherwithoutaPulpit
      @PreacherwithoutaPulpit ปีที่แล้ว

Originally it was the retelling of eyewitness accounts be it via the Apostles, those they appointed and taught who were also witnesses or simply the many eyewitnesses to Christ Jesus as well as His signs/miracles or those that He preached to during His ministry before the Resurrection and for 40 days after before He went to sit at the Right Hand of God.
The Gospel is recognized to have originally begun to be in written form in 49 to 53 AD and it was done to preserve the Word as a lot of the eyewitnesses were beginning to go to sleep/die.
The New Testament was written over a period of around 50 years and had been pretty much completed at the time of John's death in 100 AD.
We also believe that there were of course earlier written documents as well but the earliest piece found to date is from 125 AD about 25 years after the death of John the last living Apostle.
I truly hope that helps, God Bless.
If you're interested here's a few months worth of research I've been working on and if not I hope my short answer above helped you.
      Luke = Historian
      John = Evangelist

There is only one Church established by Christ Himself, and Protestantism pridefully split from that Body. Protestant doctrines are found nowhere in the Early Church, and can only be found in Scripture by doing violence to the text and misinterpreting it.
