I might be wrong but I don’t think an orange tip will make the gun legal if you spray paint the rest black. The law talks about principle colour, aka a slide, receiver etc. It would be a bit in the grey to have your coloured principle colour just to be an orange tip.

Yes, do not use acetone on plastic. Also, chances are the plastic isn't painted, but dyed, so there's no way to get rid of it (hint: buy a replacement parts or spray it)
It’s not against the law to do this, UKARA is just a license shops require for you to purchase the gun. There is no law for having a replica airsoft gun but you need to put it in a locked box/safe when it’s in your car or out in public, stupid UK laws either way😂

@@mrfantasticxx since I said that. I have also used your technique and scrubbed blue off. The blue comes off metal easily and looks good. But removing it from ABS was a pain and impossible. I removed what I could and then had to re spray it black. Which looks good. But was a pain. Thanks
@@justmyopinion8875 I work in a paint shop. From experience, covering paint up with more paint isn't great, it makes it easier to get damaged, it can go lumpy and look crap. It's worth spending the extra bit of time scrubbing in my opinion.
Ah. Since saying the above.. I did the same. It came off metal easy and clean. But ABS it does not. It 'clouds' which means that it comes off mostly but leaves an ugly residue in the plastic, so its fully stained. Once I had removed aa much as possible I then masked it off and used plastic spray paint that is suitable for ABS. From Halfords. It's a matt black. I painted it and it looks perfect. Sorted.
@@iridium_LC I would also go for airsoft guns that are mostly alloy or steel construction cost you a bit more but much easier to take off and repaint to your liking and get a much cooler effect aswell

It should take around 1-2 hours depending on what rifle you have For a Pistol (mine is a Glock 17) it took me 45 minutes because I had to remove the barrel instead of everything else on the gun so it was easier to take off

I just sprayed mine over the top with black spray, 3 or 4 light coats. Much less hassle then removing the blue.

Well, the paint could just scrap off, this way It shows the manufactured part with no other pain to peel off.

it should just be solid plastic underneath but i would test it in a area you cant see first

Yes there is black paint, two toned guns are the original plain black gun just painted red, blue or green to follow the law
