  • First flight in windy and gusty conditions with our brand new club plane. Love the stick and the glass cockpit.. if only they could put these two items in our pipers too... which are more stable in windy conditions

Doing my private in the Sportstar. It's been a blast. The wind keeps it challenging for sure.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like an old dispersed military airfield?
Recently uploaded training in right gusty crosswind with the Eurostar myself.
We also have the Dynamic WT9, which I believe now has 24 kt demonstrated crosswind allowance.
That´s pretty much for the UL-category (microlight).

Nightfighter it is indeed a reserve military airfield which can be activated by the military with a 3km long runway of which we use only the middle 799m.
It was my first flight in this plane in bad weather conditions and my 3th flight ever in this plane. Coming from Piper aircraft, which arent so sensitive, was a challenge.

Yes, I can see it´s a bit turbulent and not a smooth ride. I guess all those trees must add thermals as well, making a pass a bit jumpy as default? Landing looks good though. Maybe from my perspective the nosewheel could have been held higher.
Here´s when I overfly a similar strip in Sweden (Björka), with a WW2 anecdote.

what is it that you keep twisting with your right hand?

TheOriginalRaptor That is the throttle. You can slide it in and out for big changes in engine speed, or twist the knob for fine changes.

Glad you asked that. Seen that on several vids and was wondering why.

      Its called a Vernier throttle.
