That's a lovely bag. You did a brilliant job with it. Have a great holiday down here in Cornwall. Hope the weather will be good for you. Look forward to your next video. Hope your machine comes back working well. Thank you. 😊💐
I have just made the Merchant&Mills Orton Bag, lovely too but huge! I thought this one looked too tricky but you have changed my mind! Can I ask what make sure hole punch is? I don’t want to risk buying a rubbish one!
That was interesting and fun Sally, you've inspired me to look and maybe buy this pattern. We returned from a holiday in France on Monday 22nd and tested positive for Covid on the 24th! So as I'm starting to recover after a rough three days, it's an ideal opportunity to catch up on your videos. I hope Cornwall was lots of fun and that the kitchen replacement has gone well.
I can entirely sympathise with you about the kitchen situation! I'm right in the middle of mine being done - at the stage where everything is messy and the dust is horrific. I hope yours is finished without mishap! Love the Jack Tar bag, it's been on my radar for a while. I can't decide whether to make one or not!
Oh gosh it’s horrible isn’t it. We were washing up in the bath for a week or so. Just waiting on the tiling for ours now and then it’ll be done. I hope you enjoy your new kitchen too xx
Do you know I didn't use it as much as I thought I would during the holiday because I didn't want it to get dirty and sandy haha!! I have used it since though and can confirm it holds a lot of stuff. I think I'll avoid putting anything too heavy in this one because of the fabric I've used but a stronger fabric like a leather or cord would be great x
I loved making my jack tar bag. I added another long strip into the top with a clip on for keys. Sewed into the top with facing and it hangs inside pocket
I think a few people have made them as presents, such a lovely idea! I think for the size it is it would benefit from a more hardy fabric such as faux leather just because you'll probably want to put a lot in it as it's so roomy x
Can you buy an air-conditioner where you are? I'm kind of confused why you don't have air-con. I know your houses are built for winter but we've always just bought one. They aren't cheap but 40°c is way too hot. None of our houses had air-con till we put it in. Can you buy them there? I love your top so pretty.
Most public places like shops etc are air conditioned but houses and schools that weren’t built recently generally aren’t. We could buy one but 40 degrees is still a rarity in this country at the moment, if temperatures continue to rise I guess we’ll have to consider it. Thank you for watching xx
@@SecretLifeOfASeamstress that makes sense. I hope it doesn't continue to be so hot. I'm from a warm country and 40 is too hot here as well. Makes a great sewing day but only with air-conditioning.😳😄
Wow! Great bag.
Thanks so much xx
😂😂😂Whoops! Watched to the end and you answered the question for me
Haha I'm glad I did, thank you for watching x

Lovely bag Sally hope you enjoy the holiday good luck with the kitchen.
Thanks so much! Can't wait until it's all sorted now, I feel like I haven't sewn in ages haha x
I made a bag years and years ago and it was a lot of fun. I love the fabric on your top, I can't seem to find lovely florals like that here in the US.
Thank you! I think I was lucky with this fabric find, have you tried Minerva, they have a lot of florals and ship worldwide x
Thank you , lovely xx
Glad you enjoyed it x

A lovely bag and nice choice of fabrics. Did it hold up well during your holiday? I hope the kitchen refit is going well! X

That’s a great idea I might have to steal that for my next one haha! X
I love your Jack bag. It would make such a nice present for someone. I shall definitely give it a go. Did you find it too big? Diana

Beautiful fabric your top is made from Sally. Where is it from? 😊
Thank you , question , do you put snips in the base as well as the sides please ?
Oh gosh I can't remember it was a while ago I made this. Are there notches on the pattern?
