YAY! Thank you for featuring my journal for 2024 💜This is definitely becoming a tradition now...and I also love watching you figure out how/why I've done stuff lol you do the best flip throughs! ALSO sneaky clips of Aus. Can't wait to see what trips we do in 2025!
Heck yes for 2025 trips 🥳 Too dang excited! Thanks as always for letting me share your journal with the team 😄 We all love seeing your creativity and consistency 👏 As said, definite reading journal goals 💜
@@Monica.Bibliophilebynight YOUR HANDWRITING!!! Jess isn’t the only one with cuteness aggression over it. PLEASE 🙏 work with a typeface designer to turn your handwriting into a font set! It’s legit a thing that you can do! I watched a whole documentary about an artist who did it. You have such amazing handwriting… and goodness me your reading journal. Total goals. The whole package. 100/10 🧑🍳🤌
Thank you to Monica for allowing you to share her journal with us! This was an absolute treat, all of those stats had me nearly drooling 💜 I love that the layouts are much more simple than they look at first glance - the perfect balance between efficiency and decor. So lovely!
I agree! 💜 I love how they look when finished, and at a glance it could certainly seem a bit too complicated for a beginner skill-level, but I think that when broken down into their elements, they're really approachable 💪
This was so fun to watch/listen to because there's something so lovely about someone getting to admire another person's reading adventures. It's so sweet.
Forever obsessed by Monica's journal! I'm in a square journal this year 100% because of her, and my new monthly dashboard set ups are absolutely inspired by her layouts ❤❤
This is a video I have been waiting for since I saw the last of Monica's Reading Journal Flip Through. I also added this to my favourite video playlist, along with the others. I hope to see this year's reading journal as well.
Simple but stunning is a great way to explain it 👏 I love the small added complexity of the tip-ins, but overall it's a really approachable style that I love to share 😄
I’m awe struck at this much reading but it’s my season of life. I don’t think I ever read quite this much in a year’s time but at one point I would have been in the same ballpark. Wonderful ideas and I’m going to track my books in a journal this year. The book club I belong to tends towards classic literature and at the length of the books I’m not going to need many pages
This is my first year keeping a reading journal and I'm working on it now and feel like I started it a bit too late. However, this video is really inspiring my spread ideas and making it easier for me to put my first reading journal together. I know I'll tweak it as I use it throughout the year but this is such a great start for a newbie to journaling like me! Thank you for sharing this!
Glad you liked it! 💜 We'll for sure have a flip through of 2025 on the channel in Jan next year, but in the mean time, Monica posts still images over on her IG 😄
I love the videos where you flip through her reading journals. I've started doing a few things in my own that she does. It's just so nice to look at hers. Please tell her thank you for letting you do these. They are so nice to look at. I come back to these videos often. 🙂💛👍🏻
Gosh I thoroughly enjoy these flip throughs. Monica genuinely needs to work with a typeface designer to turn her handwriting into a font set. She has such nice handwriting! It’s definitely a thing she could do!!!
@ I would actually pay for her handwriting as a font. I *never* pay for fonts. 100/10 understand your cuteness aggression. Monica’s handwriting is complete goals.
Love Monica's Journal!! Also, I found a new rating system, it is called READS and it is by Beth and Beyond on TH-cam. It can be as simple as you want or as detailed as you need. I thought about your new rating system and wanted to share what was working for me.
Omg brilliant! Why have I not thought to literally just cut letters out with my cricut! I'm going to try this for March cause my February is already planned 🙌🙌
It’s great to see reading journals. Loved this one so much 🥺 Question though: where do you all find books to put on your TBR lists?! I love reading but finding a series or even a new author I want to read is very difficult for me for some reason. I read lots of different genres but I can never seem to find many new books I want to read.
I personally rely a lot on recommendations, whether that's from my friends who read similar things to me, or from creators I see online 😊 I find general recommendations hard because I've got set genres and such that I actually like reading, so when I find people that give "good" (for me) suggestions, I tend to stick with them 😝
Thanks Monica for sharing your reading journal. I read a lot of books but would find it hard to keep up with a journal. I do have a recommendation for you. My Commander by Alanea Alder.
I’m curious about her star rating stickers. Some of them have a 2 above but a 5 in the star. Do we know what that means for her rating, or is that just something for her own tracking? I’m trying the CAWPILE method this year and seeing if that rating works, but I’m always interested in how others rate their books.
These reading journal videos convinced me to never care about bujo influencers' book tastes because phewww, they're so different from mine... But this journal is pretty! I like the idea of a Bookémon Readathon but the execution here is too off from the Pokémon games for me.

Monica needs to start posting videos of her doing this it’s beautiful, I’m taking notes like I do with all reading journal channels
I would be a subscriber for sure!
Haha it'd be great if she had her own channel 💜 For now though, at least we have her IG pictures throughout the year 💪

Monica's journal is GOALS! 😍
100% agreed 👏
Was hoping to see this video! Thanks to Monica and Jess!! ❤
Most welcome! She really did all the work 😂💜
@ but without you I wouldn’t be able to see her awesome work! 💜
Monica’s handwriting is beautiful! Insanely jealous! Love seeing her work (and of course Jess journals too!)
I'm right there with you with the hand-writing envy 😝
Monica’s journal is beautiful, I love how she captures all the statistics and her layouts are simple but stunning.

Wow this journal setup is such an inspiration. So wonderfully organized!

One Dark Window was also my favorite of the year. ♥️
Good to know others vouch for it too! 😄💜

I went and followed Monica on instagram purely based on your vids of her journals. They’re gorgeous and inspiring and I could never 😂
I love her dedication to the craft 👏 Very inspiring! 💜
ok i’ve finished the vid now - LOVE the journal, as usual, Monica 😍 please please let us see your 2025 rejo 🩷

38:06 “they bought books . . . I followed them around” haha such a mood and I love that 💖
I just got to enjoy being part of the party 😂 I eating a lot of matcha ice-cream, haha
Monica is a champ. You can tell much love and much work goes into keeping this. And the writing style. I'm envious too :D
Glad I'm not alone in the hand-writing envy 😝
I really love these flip Through!!
Glad you enjoy them 🥳💜
I love these flip throughs.
Glad you like them 💜😄
Her handwriting is so neat that it almost looks like printed font. Beautiful!
It makes me super jealous 😂💜
I've been waiting for this! I took so much inspiration from her for my journal this year! Thank you for showcasing her reading journals!
Most welcome! Really she did most of the work 😂 I love her consistency in her reading journals 💜
Woahhh…that journal is PERFECTION!!! I’m totally using most of em layouts 😜👍🤗🩵😽🩵
Glad you liked it! 😄💜
Wow, in one video I made it into both a Jess video and a Monica reading journal! All kinds of bucket list items being ticked off over here!! 😂😂🎉
Haha 😂 Part of ittttt 💜
The clips from Sydney are cute! I’m missing my book crew!!
Must be fate that I was commenting asking for this video in your previous lives and here you are! I love Monica's spreads.
Haha I just spotted your comment 😂 Great timing!

I love Monica’s journals!! You two inspired me to start my own reading journal. Finished setting it up a few days ago. 😊
Oh awesome! 💜 I hope you're enjoying it so far 😄
Definitely going to rewatvh & take notes later! ❤
I added some ideas to my list from this one too 😂💜

Glad that one is working for you! I've gone with my own system (called VIBES, lol) and am looking forward to using that 😄💜
@JashiiCorrin I like your system too. I think rating systems are individual to the person.
My favorite ways of making repetitive spreads is designing and printing on sticker paper! Really love this journal
Always great having those ways to make the setups faster and easier 👌
WOW, I was just looking for the reading journal videos last night because now I have to redo mine!
Glad it was timely for you 😄
I have to come back to this tomorrow. Monica’s journal is something to be fully enjoyed and unfortunately I have to go to bed :(
Hope you enjoy it when you get a chance to watch! 💜

Niceee 💪 I'm hoping to learn how to do that this year myself 👏
Oooh!!! So pretty!
I started a [very small] reading journal because of you guys. 2.5 books down so far this year 😂
Great work! I'm on 2.5 books too 😄💜
her journal is such an inspo to mine

Pausing to add more books to my TBR..... 👀.
Haha very fair 😂
I don't think I ever hit play so fast!
Haha 😂 Well it is the most anticipated video of the year, so fair 👏
Monica has a stunning reading journal! Mine looks nothing like this! 😂
I always love looking through hers 👏 She does excellent work
do you know what pen she uses to write her reviews? i love the blue and how the ink sits on the pages!
I use a lamy fountain pen with a 1.1 calligraphy nib 🙂
Thanks Monica for sharing your reading journal. I read a lot of books but would find it hard to keep up with a journal. I do have a recommendation for you. My Commander by Alanea Alder.
What kind of printer does Monica use for all of the book covers?
She uses a HP DeskJet 3720 💜

If there's a 5 in the star, it's a "point 5", e.g. 2.5 star rating 🤙
@ ooooh! That’s so clever! Thank you!
Please where are those stickers in the beginning from, they're giving me cuteness aggression, jess said paper shy? or am I wrong
Paper Shire 😄💜 (might be one word 🤔)
Soooo neat! Definitely inspiring 😊
And I really love the use of tip-ins.
Do you know...is the black pen like a .02 mm or something? Lol
She uses the 0.05 mm nib 👌 So smol 😝
Yeah, i think i am going to steal monica's book battle idea😈😈 just kidding😂😂😂
Bloody book battle 😂 I cannot! 😝
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeah
🥳
These reading journal videos convinced me to never care about bujo influencers' book tastes because phewww, they're so different from mine...
But this journal is pretty! I like the idea of a Bookémon Readathon but the execution here is too off from the Pokémon games for me.
I'm not sure how the Bookemon Readathon worked, but I believe all the graphics used came from the creator who released the challenge if that helps 😊
@@JashiiCorrin Thanks! I might look it up 😊
Why are you showing her journal? Sorry I probably missed a lot.
Because she lets me 😂 And because it's always nice to showcase other examples of how one could set up and use a reading journal 👌
