I would like to see this method on coily and curlier hair textures. Many of the heads used are extremely similar in texture & density. The cuts and styles are impressive, so expanding the hair types would be incredible.
I have used this technique since the early 2000's and I find this one to be easier than a round brush. Especially for me who has naturally thick curly hair, it does work and the time does go by faster. Round brush always made me feel tired and hurt my hand, I didn't want to deal with my hair. I'm so glad someone is actually showing this technique.
For people that say this would work on curly hair. Look up “deeper than hair” on TH-cam. She does this on Afro textured hair. only thing she does different is use a serum with slip and detangle before going in with the paddle brush and concentrator nozzled dryer. The first time I saw this technique was on her channel and on black type 4 hair.

That would also be beneficial for coarse fuzzy textures! I just learned something too :-)
It works! I have thick hair and the wrap dry takes a little bit longer but the result is awesome. After a wrap dry takes a little work with the round brush if you wanna a very straight look. ❤️
For what they charge for hair styles these days....I do not want to speed "MY TIME" up. I do not want to rush back into the HONEY-DO's. I want to have a girlie moment to last longer then 15 minutes at $80.00!!! Here is another pet peeve....face me towards the mirror so I can watch how you got to the finished look. I love you guys, I really do. I bought the Sam Villa blow dryer and I absolutely hated how the cord kept tangling up and turning into a knot. This isn't rocket science, guys. I had to replace it with another dryer that, so far, outperforms Sam's dryer in the cord dept. Sorry guys. I'm not a fan of the blow dryer but I'm sure in love with the texture shears and dry cutting shears. They rock!!!

Hey, Lance. Are you referring to the Sam Villa dryer? If so, it was just under $100. I literally hated the cord! All it did was tangle up into a ball hindering your drying time.
I actually love using a combo of a bristle paddle brush and a round brush on my curly hair and it gets it straight BARRING proper products in the hair. I've noticed really the big thing that changes the smooth finish to a blow dry session has little to do with the brush (having used quite a few kinds even combs) and a lot to do with products.
I could never get this done with on my long hair and I don't think a hair stylist could either. Clipping hate really doesn't take all that much longer but it gives the person's hands doing the drying much more freedom.
i blew out my shoulder 😭25 yrs in the business and salon owner ....now can't work and weekly app at a pain clinic for nerve blocks.....they said it's from doing repetitive movements and it is the side i held my blowdryer in.....so all you new young stylists ..PAY ATTENTION to your form and how heavy your blow dryer is.... it CAN catch up with you and cause injury.😔💔💇

The art of blowdrying has died over the years. This was standard stuff that was taught to first year apprentices way back when. The trouble is that these days a lot of younger stylists don't dry the hair fully and clients leave the salon with that halo of frizz.

Where I go to school at aveda they want you to do everything with a blowdryer. Waves, straight, curls etc. and don't even really bother going much in detail over using flat irons or curlers unless the client wants an extra step. But I know what you mean because my hairstylist never wants to do a blowout she just rough dries it and always flat irons it lol

course hair isn't difficult AT ALL.....if you know what you're doing. I understand that some hairdressers don't have a lot of (or may not have ANY) clientele with course hair, so they may not know how to handle it. if you're VERY versatile and can do ANY hair type (from 1-4)...than you would know EXACTLY to deal with it. 🤷🏽 #imjustsaying
Hi Crystal, you are correct that it's not hard if you have the information and experience in that fabric. It's similar to our friends that work in Japan... when they have a guest that sits in their chair with very thin or fine hair, it makes them nervous because they are so well versed in extremely thick and dense textures. rainbowboy starting at the nape blow dry the roots with a paddle brush pushing and over directing the hair upward and quickly working horizontally then vertically til you reach the crest, then return to the nape and start twirling that round magical brush.
rainbowboyu great suggestion above! by using a paddle brush to wrap dry the root area, you decrease the time it takes when you come back in with the round brush. Also, like we always say, slow down to speed up... a few very slow passes with the brush will get you to the end result much quicker
I personally rough dry to about 90% dryness and then go back in and round brush. I've seen many people round brush from very damp and it's just not how I want to go about it

For every person out there doing their own or their large family's hair there are 5 others willing and able to allow a professional to do it. Dante Velasquez I work with a lot of ethnic hair and it absolutely works with curly hair. Technique is the key. Hair is hair. Try making your sections smaller nevertheless it speeds up your blow dry time tremendously!
The only way that would work on my hair would be for me to take tiny sections and over heat the hair to avoid a frizzy result which would damage the curl pattern and certainly wouldn't go fast. I wouldn't risk over heating any curly or wavy pattern for that reason and find the ceramic barrel brush does the best job.

Now I realize why youtube tutorial are effective and popular because these people make it fun. They don't teach like it's a job. Professionalism I understand but boy smile or smerk like it's a lil fun. IDK.
