I am French and born in 1986, I have an 88 fiero formula, I understand why Albert has kept this car all these years because it is a great car, superb line, compact, easy to drive, even in 2023, in short, only happiness!!! Very nice story, I had a great time watching the video, keep it up!!!
I had a 2M6 SE...my favorite was driving at night and look into the rear view mirror and be able to see all the gages from the reflection off the rear window...It was awesome..
The Fiero imo was an absolutely amazing car in every way. Always wanted one and have more of a run then they did. The GT was my favorite from 86 to 88.
Agreed GT was awesome, loved that car as a kid growing up. Just nothing compares to these old beauties with what the produce now. Thanks for watching and commenting
When I drive my Black 1986 Fiero GT, it's a driving experience. It gets a lot of looks and people 40 and under always ask what it is. I can appreciate becoming engaged with going through the gears of the 4 speed manual transmission, while creating the crackle of the exhaust when downshifting. The way the road feels inches below you as you carve the pavement feeling the feedback though the steering wheel. It won't throw you back hard, however it loves to be thrown around a twisty road. Anyone that owns or owned one knows exactly what I mean. That old saying "don't knock it, till you try it" Rings true for the Fiero.
100% well said. Its a great car and those who have them love them... I now see why. I always thought they were cool but after being in one Im happy not to be dissapointed.
I had this exact Fiero to the color as my first car a year or two ago (not the same car but you know what I mean) loved that thing but had to let her go. Glad someone has enjoyed a ride in one just like mine
I have two 1987 Fieros currently hibernating in my garage. One is the 2.5L Iron Duke with a 5 speed, the other is the GT with a V6 and 5 speed. Both have very different personalities, but I enjoy them both! Great design!
Oh wow those are gems! Awesome cars nice you get to enjoy both of them. Getting harder to find every day so glad you get to enjoy your passion. Thanks for dropping by any other cars you'd like to see on the channel?
The technique Albert mentioned where GM used sacrificial lugs as body panel mounting points to be milled to spec once the chassis was assembled was pretty damn clever. The Fiero was really a tour of Pontiac's innovative soul. It's a shame that Chevrolet was so protective of their damn Corvette, too. Frankly, the C4 was perfectly capable of handling itself and I doubt there really would have been much overlap between buyers. I like to think of the Fiero as Pontiac saying to John DeLorean, "Here, this is how you do that."
Agreed such a differnt car. I love the Fiero but could care less about the corvette but thats just me. Guess they didnt see it that way nor want to take any chances. Thanks for dropping in! Hope you check out some of the other cars some unique ones on here...
@@SubdivisionAuto My daily driver is a 1989 Corvette so I see both sides of their dilemma. The Fiero wasn't the first time Pontiac threatened the golden child, either. The first instance was their Banshee concept from the late 60s. Also shot down by upper management.
having 6 corvairs i had to have one to add to my collection mine is a red 84 my boy has a 84 indy an my other boy has a 87 5spd v6 ,,,fun cars to drive
6:27 he's incorrect about driving the car into the mill & drill machine. The frame is just a carcass loaded into the Gillman machine and simultaneously drilled into so that all the mounting pads have the relatively same connection points. The frame doesn't have a drivetrain at that point in the assembly.
@@SubdivisionAutoI saw them new in 1987. Sat in one in the showroom when the trans am gta was on the showroom floor too. Both red fiero and trans am gta with all the buttons on the wheel. I think it’s prices was 16000. The gta was 21k
Awesome video! Had a blast filming this one! Pontiac Fiero is a beautiful car glad people get to see it 🏎️
Thanks for being on the show was great to share your story!

Very cool to see another happy fiero owner. Always thought they were cool cars as a kid cool go see they're good to drive too
That piece of junk has a long standing appointment with the crusher.
Youre better off getting a Citroen DS
I owned a 2m4 and a SE. really liked them both. Weird and fun.

Sounds like an awesome car really quite unique and everyone who owns them always tells me how much fun they are.
Even tough my '84 has the magnificent 😁 Iron Duke, it's my time machine and still dig it! Nice vid!
That's a hell of a good looking time machine
Great video! Well done!
Thank you for watching and commenting guys!

Great video! I am pleased to say I've been for a ride in this particular Fiero! Proud to have Albert as a friend.
Fantastic, Albert is a great friend indeed :) Thanks for dropping by Nicole hope you check out some of the other stories we done ! Cheers
@@SubdivisionAuto Will do! I'm a bit of a gear head, too, but with motorcycles! :-)

Great episode nice to see the Fiero...you just don`t see them around anymore
100%! glad you enjoyed it
I have a 1987 fiero coupe I bought new also. It leaves me wondering how many original owner fieros are out there?
I dont know but id love to hear from them! Hopefully they drop in the comments one day
my sister had a inline 4 version in silver back in the mid 90s.
I drove it a few times and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Rock and roll Willy
86gt 4speed manual. Love it. In had an 86gt auto in the late 90s
Good stuff killer cool cars and a fun drive for sure. Thanks for commenting
I love it he has me beat by fifteen years
What a great video
Thank you Ray. Lots more coming we have begun filming more truck episodes. Along with that lots of muscle cars. Thanks for the comment
I love my 86.5 with its rare manual 5-speed transmission. 😊
Enjoy great cars!

I currently have an 85 silver 2M4 automatic 😁
Probably the first heads up display ever...lol..
These are at their best with the engine swap from a grand prix, supercharged 3.8, turns into an absolute rocket
I've hear this is the way to go. I heard of people putting Ferrari body kits on with that combo
It looks pretty much identical to my 85 Fiero.
Thats awesome lucky to have one of those great looking cars
i have a silver 2m6 too!
He’s right. They killed it as the 89 would have a nicer design as well as turbo and that made it faster than the flagship corvette. Gm said kill it
Thats really too bad because they were sweet cars... unique and had their own look. What made you like these cars?

If you drove a Fiero at night...you know..
"It looks like an airplane... without wings!" 😎
Cars like this is one of the reasons Pontiac disappeared.
