Awesome to hear! Hopefully starting a flat track style sportster build soon! Also was going to ask you In the wheelie game you think a stock 88 twin cam could wheelie or would it just beat the bike to death trying to learn on a low power Harley?
@@ProjectDadLife lots of the wheelie dudes actually prefer the 88. I did a vid featuring geno leonati a while back. Search his name on my channel with dyna and you should be able to find it. He does a walk around of his bike/set up with the 88. Flat track would be pretty rad!
@jonsmotogarage heck yea I don’t know how I missed that vid! He’s running a stock belt also. Awesome thanks bro! Defiantly gotta get that clutch lever setup carb swap is next on the list also.
Fantastic. Just got an Fxdx about a month ago and just loving what people do with these bikes. Thanks for the video, can't wait to check out more of your videos!
Great video. Audio and picture is really good. Love the bike also. Thinking about getting a Dyna instead of a car (im 16). Ive ridden dirt for some time so i know the basics.
Love this! Thanks for being transparent about costs and sharing links. Easy to get down about owning a nicely built bike when people are pretty commonly spending $30k - $35k on a bike. Absolutely crazy. Time to sell my Yamaha and get building! Only changes I'd make - would love to do an FXR fairing and some mini bags.
Bike is killer man. I just traded my sporty for an 04 fxd. I have the danmoto pipes on the sporty, I'll be getting a set for the dyna for sure. Nice job.
amazing build came out great. you being a harley tech in the past i have a 2002 dyna superglide as well do i need cable extentions if i do a set of t bars? any advice for doing the change?
Great video! Just got an 01 FXD and looking to do the same type of mods. The video is very helpful! Wondering how tall you are? I’m looking to do the same riser/bar setup as you but wasn’t sure how tall of riser to go with or a pull back?
Im starting a fxdl build not even sure what im going for yet just adding some love, you guys/gals have any ideas on some cool budget builds for a fxdl?(Dyna low rider)
Just found your channel. I grew up in your area. Still have relatives there. Sure has changed in the last forty years. Nice build on your bike. I ride a '10 FXDC. Back to binge watching and thanks for sharing.
Bike is beautiful man, enjoy. Just found your channel, much love from Puerto Rico ✌🏼 btw have you considered rising the tank a bit. Usually gives those FXD's the final touch on the bodylines.
How did you tint the windshield? What is the height on it and how bad is the wind buffeting effect at speed? I'm looking at T-sport and considering different windshield options..
That's awesome! I am looking into building myself an old Harley but no sure what to build. I like the club style but I just want something more custom bagger which means I will probably cost me more. Nice job on your HD. Love the color and that old school decal is awesome. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work. Looking forward to more vids.
Thanks for this video man. Are those 10 inch risers or 8 inch ? Also if they’re 10 do you think the 10 inch risers with the kickback can work with the stock cables
3 times less than what I financed my fxd for, & yours is BETTER!! nice job, love that you are doin this w/your boys, I hit the subscribe button, look forward to more
How are you liking those bars still? I think I’m sold on them but kinda nervous about quality and strength for that cheap of a price. Maybe going 6” risers since I don’t have a fairing
Cant find those decals anywhere I want the black\grey ones but hard to get I can only find ones for a sportster not a superglide and afraid the won't fit like yours do
Great wrap up vide!!! Quick question, could you have gone with 10" Biltwell risers and gotten away with stock cables? I have an "05, prefer the 10" risers but trying to keep $$$ down ...thx, loving the channel!!!

Badass man, I don’t think that’s a lot, under 5grand for a bike that is custom to your like/taste is do-able... which is what I’m trying to do on my 99 stock dyna. I got it a month ago but will be doing everything little by little as I can. Thank you for the content and the time you spent putting these video together! 🤙🏼
Thanks man I appreciate the feedback! I’m waiting to find a deal on a sportster for a flat track style build next! Love the dynas though best Of luck with your build
Yes sir next on the list! I’m gonna do just the simple tensioner pad replacement. I might put some adjustable push rods also just to take up some wear slack in the rocker arms but leaving everything else stock. Thanks for the support
Did you rejet the carb, and if you did what size did you go with? I have a 2000 fxdx and am getting the Dan Moto exhaust like yours . Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks. By the way great looking bike, you did a nice job.
Dude, that's stupid cheap. I spent more than that on my 07 and its got a long way to go before I'm done. Right now I'm just digging riding it. This winter the fun starts .
Beautiful bike except for that ugly ass windscreen tint. Did you steal that off a grandpa's Goldwing? You need to swap that out for a clear or smoke screen.
Great bike, great video! Love the backing music towards the end

I paid that much for my bike alone, it is a '14 tho. thinking about dropping a cam in!

Thanks man! Yea I love the danmoto exhaust! Check out vintage cycle restorations on eBay for the decals.
Cool, didnt look for them on ebay. Hoping I can get just a black set. I plan on painting my bike white and think black would look clean
Lucas G yea that would look slick! I think he has a gray to black similar to mine
Great job!
Thank you
Love the video man!!!!!!!
With the windshield not being made of glass, did you have to use a special tint for it?
Hey man thanks for the support! It’s actually just regular window tiny
amazing build came out great. you being a harley tech in the past i have a 2002 dyna superglide as well do i need cable extentions if i do a set of t bars? any advice for doing the change?
Thanks man! What size t bars? Or what’s the exact bar your using? I’ll look them and check for you
DadLifeFXD biltwell 12” Tyson drilled or the 10s does the diameter of the bar matter?
Bad ass build and where did you get those gloves?
Yeah, where did you get the gloves?!
Check out Motostuka - looks like their Oak Shank gloves

Awesome video, but you forget the link for the exhaust.

Great build! You've inspired me to do something very similar. How do you like the width of those bars? They're pretty narrow compared to stock.
That’s awesome man thanks for watching! Yes there about as narrow as you can go! There right at 28” wife I love em
Keep it up! I can't seem to find the link for your pipe?
How did you tint the windshield? What is the height on it and how bad is the wind buffeting effect at speed? I'm looking at T-sport and considering different windshield options..
I just used standers yellow window tint. It’s 11” no buffering at all. This is my favorite fairing.
Do you know what company makes the the yankee gold powder coat on the wheels?
Teach us yours ways Grand Master 😁
Thanks man!
I'd do it....leaves a lot of room if you wanna go north of that....motor work and what not

Love the bike… how did you mount your gauges?
Thanks man! I actually enlarged the gauge pod holes and mounted it to the stock headlight bracket holes on the upper triple tree. Worked perfectly
Was it hard to tint the windshield?
You built a nice bike for that price. 👍
Thanks man I’m still loving it!
Thanks for this video man. Are those 10 inch risers or 8 inch ? Also if they’re 10 do you think the 10 inch risers with the kickback can work with the stock cables
Thanks for the support! There 8” risers and my clutch and brake line are maxed out.
The cables had enough slack to put the taller bars on?
yes they did 8" biltwell risers with iron tracker bars! fits perfect thanks for the support
What a beaut!
Nice build! $5k isn’t bad at all
3 times less than what I financed my fxd for, & yours is BETTER!! nice job, love that you are doin this w/your boys, I hit the subscribe button, look forward to more

Trying to find your air cleaner to match on my 06 FXDCI was that OEM in '00? Thx Love the bike BTW give us an update.
You did good.... I guess you didnt do gear drive in this? stock cam chain tensioners ?
Thanks! No cam chest work yet! in the future for sure!
Those gloves look like what i use to do yardwork lol nice bike tho
Lol yea there similar they work great! Thanks for watching

I still
Love them there perfect. No problems yet. Thanks for watching
@@ProjectDadLife awesome thanks!
Forgot about the Horn bro . Who needs that? Lol
Beautiful build, from your experience with Harleys, a Dyna from the 90s with the older Evo engine is worth it to invest on her and customize?
Cant find those decals anywhere I want the black\grey ones but hard to get I can only find ones for a sportster not a superglide and afraid the won't fit like yours do
Nice bike! Do you think that it’s possible to add/buy the same rear fender that you currently have and put it on a dyna wide glide?
Broo
Yea man sorry just saw this comment! Yes this rear fender will fit any Harley Dyna from 99-2005 I believe
How did you get 3 into 1 exhaust for 290??
How tall is the bar/riser setup in total? I like the idea of a riser and mx style bar and was looking at this setup
Maybe around 10 inches or so
That yellow windscreen gotta go lol Nice bike
Great wrap up vide!!! Quick question, could you have gone with 10" Biltwell risers and gotten away with stock cables? I have an "05, prefer the 10" risers but trying to keep $$$ down ...thx, loving the channel!!!

Awesome you'll love it! those are stock
i wouldn't say 5k is a budget build but it turned out very nice!
