Bought this monitor at Best Buy here in Toronto, Canada area. Worked great for three days and then went to use it and the screen did not turn on. In a dark room you could see that screen was trying to turn on but was unsuccessful. My region was currently under lockdown so I couldn't return/exchange it, so I called Samsung to do a warranty repair. Shipped out the unit and waited about 9 days for it to return. Got it back, set it up and within 5 minutes the screen issue happened again. Once again, packed up the monitor and sent it back to Samsung warranty repair centre. It's been about 11 days and I'm still waiting for the monitor to come back. Really wanted to like this monitor as it has features I haven't seen before but this is really unacceptable. My best bet is when I get this monitor back and if it still doesn't work, taking it back to Best Buy and seeing if I can get a unit that was manufactured at later date to see if they fixed the issue on the assembly line. At this point I would say buyer's beware.

One of the best thing about this monitor is it has HDMI ARC for a sound bar to get 5.1 surround sound. With that said, there’s early previews of the M8 (successor) which still has 60Hz (no 120Hz) and 400 nits of brightness (use to be 250 nits). The only model of the M8 displayed was white and it had a detachable web cam. Not a fan of white.
Bought mine earlier this year, I saw this video before purchasing and I was super happy with the monitor, having type c connectivity was one of the main reasons I decided to purchase. important to know for future buyers. Type-c connection after a while just stop working and Samsung support can't explain why and it doesn't seems to have a solution. after doing a lot of research it seems to be a common issue that type-c connection just dies and force to work with HDMI only, which you might think is not that bad, but it only runs at 30hz. downgrading from 60hz that type-c connectivity provided to 30hz is just awful.
I am just wondering about your comment : Why can't Samsung fix a problem or replace the device as it's under one year? Secondly , is it true that HDMI would give a lesser refresh rate than Type C ? Sorry to ask you again , but I couldn't absorb it as it's nowhere on M& specs that different ports has different refresh rates.

Hi! Macbook Pro M1 user here. Also, my monitor does not include any usb c cable. It doesn't display anything when I connect it using my usb c charging cable from my Macbook M1. It only charges my Macbook but doesn't detect any display in usb c source. I also tried another usb c cable, no luck. This is the first review that has spoken positively about the built-in speakers. From my experience with this monitor, the sound is very good. I do not understand what the other reviewers were complaining about in terms of sound quality.
@@mentos93 the monitor is sufficiently bright. I keep the brightness on the lower end of the scale. I tried setting the monitor to maximum brightness and my eyes started to hurt. I am sensitive to light when it comes to electronic devices. Take reviewer's critiques with a grain of salt; they are too focused on specs rather than real world use. The M8 is a piece of garbage in many ways despite is supposedly prettier appearance which is the reason I chose the M7. The only flaw, for me, is black is not true black in terms of the screen blackness; in standby mode light is emitted from the screen unlike my true black HP Z27 and Z37 monitors. I bought the Samsung M7 in part because it is the ideal compromise size-wise between a 27-inch and a 37-inch monitor.

(1:58) Interesting, because it seems that Samsung is only offering models with only 1 HDMI port in Singapore, according to their website (EDIT: I checked another page, which mentions 2 HDMI ports, like the model shown in the video is). There goes my hopes of using one as a bedroom TV (I use pay TV, so a DVB tuner isn't important to me), especially since the only Samsung TV model they offer here in the 32" size has that crappy "HD Ready" resolution (that's 1366×768, or WXGA). Eww! Why are Samsung, LG, and some other brands offering such low-res TVs in the year 2021?!?!?!?!?! Oh wait, maybe it's for people on a budget, and/or for big-box electronic retailers to give away with purchases of larger TVs?!?!?!?!?!

@@JoeGillian0 I have now purchased the Monitor and so far so good. I'm enjoying using it! 👍
@@162sam it would be even better with googletv rather than tizen tv :-)
@@162sam I know this might be a long shot, but is the monitor still holding up? Thinking of getting it
@@feelnowayss The monitor is absolutely fantastic. We use it on a daily basis for work and also the kids use it for their games. I thoroughly recommend it honestly! 👍
Samsung support does not also know what is the problem. lmao
HDMI is working with my hub but it defeats the purpose of using only 1 cable which displays the output and charges your mac at the same time.
LOVE it Tim, BEST REVIEW I ever see ... thanks bro
I hope you will reach 1 million subscribers LOVE YOU 😍
That was a nice review Tim well done
Where are the 2 black screws that keep the panel and stand connected? I just purchased the monitor and can't find them in the box.
Me too lol.
Im curious if i can adjust the brightness of the monitor on the mac os when it's connected with macbook with usb c cable.
Hey Tim, have you tried this with your MacBook's clamshell mode? How did you connect it? I know there's airplay but I'd prefer to keep my laptop in a vertical stand with a closed lid.
You just have to keep the macbook on charging and then close it .
I can't get audio from my monitor while connected to apple usb c thunderbolt 3 cable. I've already tried all the settings.
what i am interested about is...how good the picture quality is? i need something that has really, really good quality!
Samsung always has a good pic quality. even on FHD monitor i am sure that they have good quality
it is weird. the colors were off/didn't feel like 4k. returned it after it crapped out on me within 3 hours
@@semmiboi damn...thats bad!
@@Allen7 strange. i have another 32 inch 4k curved monitor from samsung and i am pretty happy with it.
@@IwatchYuTup i am not talking about others, talking about this particular model ;) + i dont like curved
Great review! I understand the monitor have bluetooth support for keyboard / mouse. But does it support bluetooth headset like Bose 700, Samsung Buds, etc?
Yes, of course it does.
This is the first review that has spoken positively about the built-in speakers. From my experience with this monitor, the sound is very good. I do not understand what the other reviewers were complaining about in terms of sound quality.
What about the brightness? I keep reading about that its not bright enouch.. not sure if i should buy it
@@mentos93 the monitor is sufficiently bright.
@@0x007A thanks for your comment. Yeah i never thought about brightness before i started looking for a new tv, came across this smart monitor while browsing i will mainly use it for stuff like netflix, youtube and to play some games on my ps4. I haven't seen better tv's either for in the same price class. What do you use this monitor for if i may ask?
Looks very slick! Thanks for the video. I am a long time Samsung user for over 10 years. But I'm wondering why there are various user review comments saying this monitor won't turn or or died quickly? Also, it would be nice if Samsung comes out with another size larger such as 38 or 40 inches.
There were problems in december but seem to vlbe fixed now
43 inch announced today
Hi 😊, I would like to know how you connect your mac m1 air with your 32 inch 4K display. I have tried my M1 air to my same as your Samsung 32 4K monitor. But not connecting. Could you please tell me what type of cable you are using.
I have this same question. I was just about to purchase a different 28" 4K monitor by Acer, along with a usb-c to display port 6' cable. I too have an M1 MacBook Air. You may want to check the Air's display settings once you have the cable connected directly to the MacBook, not via dongle/adapter. I hope you figure this out on your own or with the help of others, as it appears nobody has received a response to any question(s) on this video, for over 9 months.
That was crazy!!! Hope I can get it❤️
Its 35% off on amazon right now
6:50 - what game is he playing?
Apex Legends. It's free.
what about brightness and colour accuracy?
Cannot compare to IPS displays.. IPS produces much richer and darker color
Love dex and internet browser love the stand even the speakers inside seems great
i just picked up this beauty for $299 Cdn. super deal and yes the 32 inch 4k M7
Can we use usb soundcards or dac/amp on this monitor, since there is no headphone jack?
Very cool video Samsung Monitor M7! Thanks for making this video Tim Schofield.
Can i ask? My basic apple charging usb c cable is not working on the monitor/tv. Do i need digferent usb c cable to stream video thru cable? I dont like the airplay
I picked up an OPEN BOX version but it lacked the remote. I’m stuck at the choose your language and can’t get the command to answer with the single joystick option at the bottom of the monitor. Does it only work with the OEM remote?
Would the 27-inch pair nicely with the iMac 2021?
Hi Tim
Can i ask you if USB-Type A or USB-Ttype C can be used for Ethernet connection with an adaptor?
Thanks
Does it support 4k @ 60hz via USB-C ?
Purchased the M7 32" model and will send it back. Cannot get any wireless mouse to play well with the monitor. Severe lag. I havet to plug my Samsung Note 10+ in so I can get the wireless mouse to work properly. What' the point of wireless Dex if you can't use a wireless mouse?
you cannot use exist mouse doungle to USB port ? are you using bluethooth mouse?
If i run this with my m1 MacBook pro using airplay 2 , can i get 4k on the m7 or is it too laggy?
Does the audio come form the monitor speaker when we connect a display port USB Type C cable. In mine the display only comes at 4k and no audio from monitor
What usb c you using?
I’ve use apple’s usb c cable (came with macbook pro) > It charged my macbook pro but display not detected.
The one that came with the Mac is just a charging cable ....
Man Tim this will be the monitor I buy later on. Great video and stay safe brother 🙏.
Hi. does Samsung S20FE can connect to Samsung Monitor M7 via wireless Samsung dex? pls answer
Wish would exist a smart monitor ultra wide. The 32 for working with files that we have to split screen seems to short
Nice video, very informative specially the wireless connectivity with android and macOS. However, I would like to ask you something. Do you know the difference between the m5 and the m7?
The m5 has 1080p resolution and also has a 27 inch option. M7 has 4K resolution and only has a 32 inch option.
Hello, I got this monitor about a month ago and I love the monitor with one exception.. the audio doesn't always play from the monitor to my laptop when I have this playing using the USB-C cable provided and also tried a thunderbolt cable with no luck... Does anyone else have this issue? or if you haven't had this issue, what is your wiring set up? I hope to hear back from someone.
from your experience, would you please, let us know the 8 ms response time issue? as i see this monitor is wonderful in most of the digital applications, what about 3d animation, games? is it not affecting the final quality of games if it is 8 ms response time? thanks for this video.
I wonder if it's great for gaming via Xbox Series S and Nintendo Switch
what is the best setting on external display to get sharp image? have the 32" M7
I am thinking about running my Ipad Air 4 through USB-C as my main computer while using the built in features when I do not need ios apps for certain tasks. any thoughts?
What's the text like On the monitor? Is it slightly blurry? I have the 34" ultra wide but whne I connect my apple the text is slightly blurry which is kinda annoying
I am heading out to the store to buy it on your recommendation.
Can a webcam be connected directly to the monitor and used for zoom calls without the need for a computer? Because I think we need to install drivers for webcam right!!!!?
Is this recommended for pc gaming? I'm not a hardcore shooter type so I don't need more the 60fps.. But, I just font know since with a PC, all those apps are available 🤔 I DO have a galaxy S21 so there's extra functionality there.
Can I buy two and put then on monitor arms to use dual monitors ?
Wondering if you have the part number for those screws that mount the stand to the monitor? Or if you know the size of those screws?
Does it have anti-glare surface? it isn't been mentioned on their website
Yea it does
Love this monitor!! I'm trying to connect two computers into it through both hdmi ports but won't recognize my comp in hdmi2... any tips? Much appreciated!
It doesn't have PIP or PBP
how color accurate is the screen? i mean i do (non business) Photography, and 3D modelling/animation.. so for me, its an issue if its not accurate enough...
Does the monitor have IP control and wake on lan in the settings? It should be under expert settings in the network settings, if it has it
thanks for making this!
Basically a TV without a tuner, it probably can't receive TV broadcasts.
Not bad, could do with more monitor features like 120/144hz, G-Sync/Free-Sync
120/144hz, G-Sync/Free-Sync
cost more. sync need additional graphics card.
Does it have PIP PBP Multi View switching between the USB C & HDMI (Wired) inputs? Esp on 43M70A?
Hello great Review, have Huawei desktop?
Sir,, is screen share wireless connect to laptop good enough to work ??? I want a BIG SCREEN to work when im home via MACBOOK . Since i dont wanna buy iMAC and Macbook both . Can i also connect imac trackpad ???
can I plug both mac and pc and use same time? or switch between both system?
I just bought the 27 inch one to use as a kitchen tv/computer
Does it have PIP PBP Multi View switching between the USB C & HDMI (Wired) inputs? Esp on 43M70A?
Good content bro 👍
appreciate the review, this is just the info I was looking for ! quick question: sounds like it doesn't have audio-out of any type, do you think a USB-to-headphone jack would enable some exterior studio monitor speakers I have? trying to avoid having to plug several things into MBP to get up and running. TIA for any input !
Will this work with the new Mac mini?
...obviously...
Can I use this as PC without any other devices connected to create home music production?
Any idea why my usbc connection with Mac doesnt work? It detects it, but not showing picture, only charges it
are you using the usb c cable that came with your mac? I think it must be a 3.1 cable at least.
@@Lassavins thanks for replying. I did not get any usbc cable with the monitor (common for EU), tried with some old ones I got home. Now ordered new with 4k video support, hope it will work.
@@whacheyayo yeah, it must be a thunderbolt 3 - usb c cable. Im on the market for the same thing. Apple's official one is 45€, for example. You can find cheaper ones, but with Apple you ensure you won't get any issues. Thats definitely the problem you're facing :P
Sir can we connect lan cable using usb adapter?could you please get clarity from company!
Would this monitor work great with a mac studio ?
In the 1210.5 sw version there is bug. Monitor is not able adjust screen illumination at right level and continously go from the lowest to the highest level. This is very annoying.
Does anyone know how do the speakers in this monitor compare to MacBook Pro 13" 2018 speakers?
Is the wifi required on this moniter for Samsung dex ?
no wired works better.
Can you power this monitor just via the USB c cable
Can We Use USB PenDrive Watching Movies And Audio Songs In This Monitor!!!And Any
ArcHDMI Port???
Thanks for the great review. Might have missed it - 1) Type C port - does this have power delivery? Can it charge a Macbook Pro using this port? 2) Does this have an app store as well like the SMART Tvs? Thanks
Yes it will charge upto 65kw,so laptop n phone.

Can someone tell me the current software version of your M7, please?
can i connect my laptop to it using usb c and is it a good monitor for video editing ?

Is it possible to connect a wored headphone via usb?
Can you tell me if it's only 30hz though usb-c???
Considering if you have correct cable that support display, you can get 4k with 60hz plus charging.
