Hi Zachary, having a good vocal range is really an asset for choristers like us. I started out as a baritone and now I sing Tenor 1. Best way to prepare singing any type of song is by vocalizing. For quick songs the best exercise to do is lip muscle exercise like Lip Trill. Facial exercises and mouth stretching helps too.
