My flap is closed. Did you have to open the flap before removing the s tube?

It should be closed when off or idle. When you remove the hose it should stay open at all times. Sorry for the 9 month later reply! Lol

I do not think it really has a negative impact but maybe ask a BMW mechanic. From my understanding, it is more about muffling the sound at low RPM's and less about performance.

+Wamii Yamii I got them at autozone. They are carburetor caps. I think they were about $2.
