    Being from Jersey, this one really hits close to home. I’ve always wanted to go bouldering in Central Park but I think I’ll pass honestly and just go to the vital rooftop 😂
    Awesome video keep it up boys

      Boulder in Sourlands Preserve in NJ or Governor Dicks Park in PA

    • @Greesher
      @Greesher ปีที่แล้ว

      @@82Seannn I’ve gone to sourlands actually once! Really awesome area but definitely scary with the hillyness at the first set of climbs with Polar bear and impact factor.
      I absolutely love outdoor bouldering

      I think central park is still worth the visit! But that Vital rooftop was so fun!

      Its not great. Pretty hard but the rubbery shit takes away a decent amount of impact.

    the central park polishing is actually so insane, im from here so rat rock east is like, my little wall i try and go to once a week or so, your feet slide off it like its wet despite it being a week since last rainfall, so sick to see you guys climbing my "home rock"

    • @NoahKane

      If you want ropes, go to The Cliffs, LIC or Gowanus. And frankly at this point I'd go to The Cliffs for bouldering too until Gp-81 opens back up. But CRG and Metrorock are cool too.

    Is there anyone who's a regular at vital? Went there a while back while on vacation and its super fresh but the grades felt really soft compared to EU

    • @hs_s1d
      @hs_s1d ปีที่แล้ว

      It's gotten harder now. I think they got new route setters too from GP81 when it closed down

    • @Aaron-xq6hv
      @Aaron-xq6hv ปีที่แล้ว

      The grades there are incredibly soft. The first 4 colors there are basically V0.

    • @Angus_fO
      @Angus_fO ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Aaron-xq6hv i thought so, like hardest I've bouldered last year is like 7b and i walked in and flashed most v8s, couple of v9s and did all their v10s. It seemed a bit too good to be true

    • @Aaron-xq6hv
      @Aaron-xq6hv ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Angus_fO Yea that sounds about right to me. Honestly the Kilter board (and the spray wall) there is probably the best climbing in the gym.

    • @stor314
      @stor314 ปีที่แล้ว

      i used to be a member there. felt kind of soft when i was but when i went back recently it felt like it had gotten harder. kind of has a strange vibe though. feels like a wework climbing gym. or like a modern coffee shop. definitely cool to get a day pass though as the roof is pretty awesome and there’s just so many problems

    I'm gonna be that guy, but the hold you used on the Polish traverse right above / next to the Sloper is actually off. Also, next time you come here please go to a better gym and not Equinox-with-Bouldering.

      Vital is one of the best gyms in the city and its great to climb on the roof on a nice day. Just because its bougie doesn't mean its a bad gym, get over yourself

    • @sssspider
      @sssspider ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kevind668I’ve been to both their locations in NYC and they’re decent. Grading is a bit on the easy side compared to my home gym though.

    • @Aaron-xq6hv
      @Aaron-xq6hv ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kevind668 Basically any of the rest of them. If you want ropes, The Cliffs at either LIC or Gowanus is your main choice (Harlem is bouldering only). Whenever GP-81 opens up again, it is *the* bouldering gym, and the direct opposite of Vital. The Gentrification of the area around Vital stole their building, but they have a few leads on opening back up. You can see the Magnus video where he goes there if you want. Beyond that, CRG and Metrorock are fine, BKB is on life-support and Bouldering Project hasn't reopened yet so I can't say much about it. If you're on a budget and want to go to the OG gym then Manhattan Plaza is fun, it's not bad, but it's definitely a time capsule into what gyms in the 90s were like.
      One thing to know about CRG in the city, they're bouldering only (one gym has like 3 routes shoved behind a staircase) unlike the other CRGs outside the city.
