    Good morning, Nurse Jar
I love watching all for your videos. I am with Credentia. I failed my skills test again on yesterday, I will not give up until I pass this test. I am much older trying to better myself. I have been in the medical field for a very long time and everything that I have learn is on the job training. Some of the skills we are tested on we do not use in a hospital setting every day. Like, one ambulation with a gait belt we have physical therapy in the hospital setting for those type of skills. I let my anxiety get the best of me on this day. I will keep on pushing until I pass. I just wanted to thank you so much for being in our lives. 🥰❤

You should never tell a resident that you are taking his/her respiration. They will change their breathing pattern.

Hi, Sylvia! You are correct. In real life, you do not. But, for testing, you are required to do so. These are "training" videos for certification testing, not videos demonstrating how you would perform nursing tasks in real life.

@@NURSEJAR Hi Nurse Jar! On the Generic Nurse Aide Test Checklist for Prometric, it says, "candidates are allowed to tell the resident that his/her
pulse is being counted or vital signs taken, instead of
stating that respirations are being counted." How would you verbalize the reading after if you said pulse was being counted and then you only have the respiration number to give them since they are tested separately??

    I have a question
Is it right to tell a resident you wanna do his respiration?
