Make A Triangle Twist Bracelet: An Easy Silversmithing Project

- This video tutorial shows how to create a lovely heavy Sterling Silver Cuff Bracelet with a twist. Included are some tricks for isolating a portion of the wire so only that part ends up with a twist, and as always, my sparkling personality;). This project involves no soldering. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others, as I've taught people for most of my life. This hobby turned into a fun side gig for me for years while I taught public school. I love suggestions and hearing about others' experiences. What is your favorite project? What kind of tutorials would you find useful?

Another beautiful piece Chad, the oxidation really sets it off. Thanks again for all you do.
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you so much! Great video.
I’m really glad you liked it Linda:). Thanks!
Great video thank you for the help and advice you give love the pick soldering video one too,😊👍🏻👏🏻
Thank you Jakki! Glad you found them useful:)
Great vid! I’ve wanted to try this for the longest time … tomorrow I’ll be attempting it with some copper; wish me luck!
Thanks Kim. Good luck!
I seen bracelets like this without the twist, for a little under $100.,some stamping but would take more expensive tools to make, after much thought i think this is the best idea for sales. That twist has impact!
These ones do sell pretty well, and don’t take a lot of effort. So I usually keep a few in stock. I should probably explore some variations at some point to change things up. Thanks Larrymore!
Thank you so much for making this vid chad❤
You’re welcome!
All I have to say about this video is “WOW”!
Thank you Mary! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching:)
Thank you SO MUCH for making a video using thick triangle wire! I’ve had such a hard time with this wire so I really appreciate you!
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching and your kind comments!

Thank you so much for this video its a great one
Thanks Nancy! I'm glad you enjoyed it:)
Love it, thanks.
Thank you too!
I recently seen a tutorial to make twisted Hoop earrings with square wire, this technique would work with that also,BRAVO!
Absolutely Larrymore! I sometimes put a single twist in square wire hoops for something different:). Thanks for watching!
Mahalo Chad 🌺🤗🤙🏻
Na'u ka hau'oli. Thank you for watching!
Great video !! I’m going to try this but with a vice and some vice grip pliers. Keep up the great work !!
That should work. Just make sure you cover the teeth on the vice grips with something smooth so the silver doesn’t get all messed up:)
Wow I really need to order some triangular wire. I have done twists with square wire before which is lovely & a hammered portion for a twist in round wire. The effect in all of these wires is eye catching. Luv the idea of earrings too.
Would it be possible to add a quick pic of the items you have used during a polishing process in the videos? Not the entire polishing process as already done. Sorry newbie learner here. Thnx.
Thanks Susan! Did I give you the link for the prepolishing video?
If not, here it is: th-cam.com/video/OpllnTnspTM/w-d-xo.html
Love your videos but can you add the materials you use gauge etc thanks
Thank you Donna. I usually try to describe the materials in the video, but in more recent ones, I’m adding that info into the video description so it is easy to refer to. I appreciate the input! Take care:)
Love this! Thanks for solving the mystery of how that is done. Do you think it would look any good with half round wire?
I think I tried that years ago, and I don’t remember being pleased with the results, but I may be misremembering. You could try it and see:). If you do, let me know how it turns out.
Awesome 😎 I would like to know if it’s different process when using 999 silver or 925 silver?
Hello Glowtron8! Thanks for watching. .999 silver, or fine silver is a bit softer, and won't hold a polish as long as sterling silver. Other than that, it should be much the same. Take care!
Love it! Love it!! Did you tell us to anneal?? Did I hear you say you’ll be annealing after you do some twists? Before too right?
After only, as I buy it dead soft. Thanks Konakai!
@@chadssilversmithing ahhh but did you explain that??
How do the clamps not squash the top of the triangle?
They will leave a small indent that can be polished out. You could probably pad them with a bit of thick paper or card stock and reduce that issue even further:)
Id like to practice on copper wire but i cant find any triangle copper wire
Hmm, I haven’t ever bought triangle copper wire. Maybe someone can suggest a source in the comments:). Anybody?
A web site for where you buy your silver?
Hello Gary! I get most from www.riogrande.com/. Not a sponsor, but reliable:)
How much did that #2 wire cost?
It depends on where silver’s at, but generally about 3/4 of an ounce to 1 ounce per bracelet, so right now, probably $25 to $30 per bracelet at a guess.
So where do u get vise grips without grips or teeth? lol.
Those would be great. I suppose you could grind some down flat.
Rio grandma web site please
Hehe. Gotta love autocorrect:). www.riogrande.com/
