  • Join us for an early start as we head to Canberra Railway station for the first Xplorer of the day to Sydney. The early start of the cold morning surrounded by birds and Kangaroo s gives way as we watch the DMU head over the picturesque viaduct at the Molonglo River and then on to Bungendore.
This video shows TrainLink's regional train the Xplorer as it makes its way on the Branch line to Canberra
Stay tuned to the end for a promo for an upcoming cinematic exploration of the Picnic train to Bungendore

Hi Barrie 👋 I think you have captured the beauty of the countryside in a spectacular way. However, no memories are unlocked with this one. I will be on the midday service on May 24th, and I am looking forward to the experience. I am catching the coach from Wagga to Canberra and then the Explorer to Sydney.

Hi John, thanks so much. You'll have to let me know what the spotting is like around Wagga, it might be worth a trip. Thanks for your support.

Cracking video Barrie, a pretty poor situation concerning the nations capital, previous state governments electrified the lines to Newcastle and Kiama but didn't do the sector to Goulburn, which is a huge growth area (standing room only on many peak services to this area) now but only served by intercity diesel sets. It wouldn't have taken much to electrify the Joppa Junction to Canberra section and thus attract patronage as I believe the road coach services are well patronised.

It's the number of services per day that surprises me. I agree totally.

Yeah the Murray's coaches looked very full as we passed them. 😂
