    My favorite thing about the quiet luxury vibe is that I find it brings me so much peace and calm; Both in my clothing choices and my home styling. Loved this topic and this video - thank you!

    Your home is amazing. Mid century modern/Scandinavian… simple, uncluttered, and peaceful. I live in a world of comfort.

    Oh, Ashley! This might be a favorite video of mine. It’s nice to have a name for this design style. I’ve always felt “quiet luxury” is a state of mind or feeling of peacefulness among decor that is very thoughtful and rarely experienced. I will be incorporating the Artful Curation of Decorative Accessories by pairing back quite a bit in order to achieve what you’ve communicated in this video. Thanks for all you do!
    Also, I would certainly enjoy your expertise and particular creative view on kitchen backsplashes when a large natural stone slab is not an option. We are building at the moment. Almost there. All the walls are primed and painting will begin Monday.
    And if you had concrete floors, would you choose to polish them instead of staining?

      I’m so happy you liked the video and found it helpful! I truly love when my home has a feeling of quiet luxury. It’s just so peaceful like you said.
      Congrats on your new home, such an exciting time! I usually opt for a timeless option when it comes to backsplash if we are not using a slab of stone. We generally gravitate towards backsplash tile that is not a mosaic. Sometimes I feel like mosaic patterns can become busy and outdated. I love using handmade tiles when we can, a 4x4” square or subway tile. A company we use often is Clé Tile, You can find them online and order directly from them.
      As for concrete floors, we generally keep them unstained in both commercial and residential projects, unless they were pre-existing and in really bad shape. I tend to like the color of the natural concrete and I think sometimes the stain can look a little bit splotchy.
      We did stain one a few years ago and we used a darker graphite stain because we needed the concrete to be a little bit darker than the natural color, and I actually did like it. My suggestion would be to go and see some of the floors that your concrete sub has done so you can see their work and get a feel for what you like best!!

      There are a ton of great online resources. We like build.com because they carry a lot of good hardware lines. Some of our favorites are Emtek, Baldwin, and Rocky Mountain.

    Absolutely love this style and colouring. However, can I ask how you keep it all so clean? I would love my living room to look like this but with grandchildren (both under 9) here most days I feel like I'd be fighting a losing battle!

    Accessories in same color as surface or wall disappear, maybe due to my aging eyesight

    • @mariastathopoulos744
      @mariastathopoulos744 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @marylut6077 I agree with you that white on white, black on black, beige on beige and neutral on neutral, items do recede into the background rather than be highlighted / stand out
      Too much is blended in rather than in harmony.
      Nothing to do with eyesight.

    This is possible for high ceiling large rooms in really big houses. Not possible for middle class people with small houses. Consider designing tips for regular size homes too

      I feel that this style is accessible to all since it relies first on color and texture. Today there are many budget friendly options for creating this look.

      Oh I think you can use these tips on any size home or apartment!! My daughter had a teeny tiny studio apartment last year while she was in grad school and we went quiet luxury with the decor. It’s a nice design style for any size home because you can really focus on being thoughtful with the colors, furniture and accessories and only use pieces that you really love 🤎
