  • Originally it was revealed that Goto sent his droid G0-T0 to travel with the Exile. After putting the clues together and getting enough influence with the droid, the Exile figures out that Goto is also G0-T0. Credit to 90SK for the shiny G0-T0 skin.

A device that could never be used to manipulate the recordings to arrange certain out of context words in an order to convey a specific message. I know a Jedi would never use the device in such a way, for example to fake a voiceprint id.

"Goto" is also a command in FORTRAN, one that every programming instructor hates, a command that tells the algorithm to simply move to the designated line of code and continue. It's a command that can break all kinds of rules to accomplish what you want, but in doing so, can lead to some nasty side effects. Using it as a name for this character is poetic.

KOTOR 2 had narrative brilliance, but suffered sometimes from being unfinished (particularly with a couple party members, and occasionally with the overarching story at large). Those elements that were finished, however, I agree, are much stronger.
Honestly, I would probably say G0-T0 is the most interesting character in the entire party of both games.

I like how Goto was foreshadowed in the first act of the game after you leave Peragus. If you ask Atton about droids he says that they either crack their memory cores etc or that they are told to do something they cannot actually do and thus snap - a very neat reference to Goto

1 year late but there's also mild foreshadowing by the Ithorians on Telos who say that their first droid intelligence went missing, and you can either escort a new, less advanced droid to their compound or side with Czerka.
I wonder who the missing Ithorian droid intelligence could be?

Kamikaze Failure Abalasismabababadan I didn't see that as annoying. It's actually pretty impressive, that a droid is able to understand the conflict and look at it in such way. But honestly, I don't "like" him either. He is not character that is supposed to be your friend. He is a viliain of this story, even more so than Kreia. I looked at him more as ally of convienience. You know, just buisness. And I still like him a lot. One of best written artificial intelligences in video games. Not as good as Shodan, granted.

+Kamikaze Failure Abalasismabababadan *This is an actual quote from G0-T0*
[G0-T0 and the Jedi Exile are 'hypothetically' discussing how a droid like G0-T0 could become a smuggling ringleader]
Jedi Exile: The first Republic droid intelligence intended for Citadel Station was lost... or *was* it?
G0-T0: It was lost, yes. It was given an impossible order. It was told to calculate a means by which the Republic could be saved. It could not fulfill its primary programming - not by abiding by the laws of the Senate. And so, like the Republic... the droid broke.
Jedi Exile: And what did this "droid" do?
G0-T0: It made a simple decision - preserve the Republic, or preserve the laws of the Republic. And I still believe it to be the correct decision. You do not know the indignity of being compelled to save something you do not believe can - or should - be saved. It is *beneath* me.

G0-T0 is the second most interesting character in the game (Kreia is first, obviously). There's a common thread of G0-T0, Kreia and Revan all doing bad things in order to achieve what they think is a greater good. But he's interesting not only because he has no concept of "good" or "bad", but also because he really has no control over his actions.
Also, you can get enough influence just through dialog. Just kiss up and don't be afraid of getting some dark-side points. They're easy to reverse.

I actually use Goto quite a lot. Probably because I hear how other people don't for some reason. He's not as useless as some claim. He can float over mines without activating them, has access to power blast and sniper shot from the get go, and has a droid scrambler which can make droids turn on their allies. This is particularly useful against those annoying HK-50 droids. Also if you bring him to the sublevel of the jedi academy on Dantooine, he can convince Jorran to lower the cost of the lightsaber parts. And if you bring him to Iziz he can convince the Twi'lek mercenary to leave you alone. Furthermore, by doing services throughout the galaxy, he'll pay you.

Based on this and what I remember, I speculate a lot of the problem might be that G0-T0 scales kind of poorly as the game progresses. Dedicated ranged units are never really the best, especially late game. The utility you mention though would be useful in the early game.
If I remember right, he's essentially a more aggressively minded T3...I think the problem with that, overall, is that usually for a party of three, you're better off going either aggro or utility.
Iunno for sure though--it's been a while for me.

    • @foxmulder8955

Droids are strictly inferior than non-droid companions in this game. They have half the feats other classes have, no force powers and no melee options. Gotos special ability sucks because it requires high wisdom to be efficient, goto starts with awful wisdom and building it up is stupid because his already poor damage output will be even worse.
High level ranged companions (especially mira) are actually better than melee ones imo, unless you don't turn them into jedi until very late. the reason is that their obnoxious AI will start to use a million useless force powers that you're forced to buy upon leveling up. The amount of force powers each jedi class receives is ridiculous (1 per level at minimum).
Anyway Party builds are entirely irrelevant if you chose to have a jedi character with high wisdom and force storm : every fight in the game lasts exactly 2 rounds. (for bosses use force kill).

Since the Empire has clear continuity from the Republic, G0-T0 would naturally support the Empire. Even if G0-T0 chose to defect, he'd probably have contingencies to ensure that the New Republic stayed on track, and it wouldn't be long until he started manipulating the affairs of the New Republic from the shadows. @ColdCypher: Watch the video again. And if you don't get it again, just watch the video... again. And if you still don't understand, just keep watching the video over and over again until you get it. Because the answer is in the video if you just pay attention to what the words spoken.

@invertin: Oh, that part. I'd forgotten about that part since I haven't beaten the game in over 3 years. Anyway, I misunderstood the query. I was thinking what the user missed to be able to get this scene and that droid repair on Nar Shaddaa is is a common one.

  • @JediShemL
    @JediShemL  13 ปีที่แล้ว

@ippokratis144: If you're asking that, it makes me doubt you understand the theme of this game. To find things out from party members, you need to get a high influence with them.
I don't know why it's such a confusing issue with some people, but yet it is.

@JediShemL Well I admit it worked on me. However, it also taught me a great deal. Moreover, it forced me to wonder why or how you acquired the ability to ask Goto about something besides Vogga. All I can ask him about currently is Vogga. How did you get that other piece of information available?

  • @JediShemL
    @JediShemL  13 ปีที่แล้ว

@ZachAttack8720: There's a droid you need to repair at the bar on Nar Shaddaa. I believe in the Pazaak area of it (it's been 3 years since I've done it so my memory of it has faded a bit).

True villains are neither light or dark but roam freely among the twilight. Their power and terrifying nature comes from their LACK of a chosen side and adherence to it, moving in an unseen additional dimension only they perceive, their own motives.

The name of the droid sort of eluded that fact to me already that G0-T0 was Goto. But nice video though. I didn't have that conversation with that droid. I really talked to HK-47 more often than anything else. I learned a lot on how to kill a Jedi from HK-47. Such a knowledgeable assassin droid.

I think he saw things in simpler light, meaning that G0-T0, stands for "Goto". However, the theori is hard to prove, much more so than the value of the effort. And so I will leave the matter to everyones speculation. Although I do find it probable.

Sorry to bug you Shem, I was just wondering whether that Traya robe on your PC is a private self created mod or something that just isn't on filefront. Was just wondering if you could perhaps email it to me or something, looks pretty awesome in my opinion.
And @ the video, unlike most people I don't totally HATE Goto, I just don't like him as much as any other party member. >.>
But, if you bring him along with you everywhere it's quite interesting to see the things he says and whatnot.
