Everything is In God's hands. Don't try so hard, the human body can get so stressed in wanting something so much, for some it can be difficult to conceive. Always encourage each other, always be open to communicate as y'all did and take a walk as you do, putting God first.... Love is powerful Trust in God, He knows what He is doing. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding, and in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path.
They might seem illogical but have deep esoteric meaning connected to creating life etc .You would have to do deep research to understand the true meaning of these laws and customs .On another note the time that the couple are " separate " physically gives them a chance to deepen their relationship through talking ,connecting with true intimacy .After all we are souls having a physical experience not vice-versa.
Sometimes person knows he can become father but his surroundings doesn’t allow him to marry and have kids perhaps their own wrong doings or taking anchor of religious matter. Don’t know.
Religion is so toxic and detrimental to the human spirit. The fact that these sweet people are made to believe that they cannot conceive because “they must not be ready” is such a terrible thing to be forced to believe. And when they’re both in pain from finding out they haven’t conceived and they can’t console each other because she’s on her period… it’s awful how cruel people are forced to be because of the customs of cruel old men.
Absolutely, makes one think that they don’t yet “deserve” something good, or that it’s somehow right that they can’t conceive. It seems like thinly veiled, sad and forced optimism. I think it’s liberating to be able to openly complain about sad things once in a while
She has to get a ritual cleanse after having her period because she is “unclean”. If that isn’t misogyny I don’t know what is. Men thousands of years ago terrified of the female body interpreting it as inherently flawed and faulty, not complete like a man’s.

On average religious people tend to be happier, so how is it detrimental to the human spirit. People believing that everything even setbacks happen for a reason often help them get through life.
My eldest took 4 years till they had their first child. During that time my wife and I were very careful not to put any pressure on them. First of all, it's painful enough for a couple that want to conceive to monthly discover failure to conceive. Why add to their pain? Secondly, it adds to their stress and stress is a factor that can prevent pregnancy. My advice to them is not to focus so strongly on having a baby. The anxiety can prevent conception. Let it go. Just focus on each other and building your relationship. Many times when people aren't focused on having a baby that is when she gets pregnant. If within another year she doesn't get pregnant see professionals. Also, at one point it may be good to discuss with your Rabbi about the option to adopt. Adoption allows couples that don't have kids to fulfill that role of being a loving parent (and those kids need someone to love and raise them). Also, at times adoption has been the catalyst to becoming pregnant. (Read - "The Bamboo Cradle") Of course, it goes without saying, PRAY! Good Luck! 🙂
What i find difficult to accept is the custom of the wife has to cover her hair. No effort is made to improve on nature.Sore skin red nose.Badly dressed They are not poor so it is a custom?
Sometimes I envy deeply religious people for their quick and easy ways to crack down on superficial viewpoints like these. While we're busy worrying about not looking good enough, they spend their time meditating on the meaning of life. Even though I don't think their fundamental assumptions are right, I certainly think they have their priorities straight.
this was a beautiful and honest telling
When she said they were already a family and he didnt agree..... Yikes. 😳
I'm not Jewish but these seem a really nice couple, I would be happy to be friends with them
Shalom to all my Jewish bruddas out there man's got you still
This was really moving, thanks for sharing

My grandad always used to say never to go to bed without making up.
it's sad she feels like a worthless woman because she hasn't has a baby.
she said she disagrees
She didn't say that. She said societally there is stigma.
Look up Yeshivat Chovivei Torah - Rabbi Linzer. “Keeping Niddah does not need to get in the way of becoming pregnant.” In terms of time of ovulation
I wonder if there are any updates. I'm guessing this video us a few years old.
They are so cute! 😍🥰
The rules seem cruel and illogical.

However it seems to outsiders, it is their custom. So many blessings to this couple.
May Ha Shem bless you with as many healthy offspring as you desire. ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉

I'm with you generally about religion, but 'Nidah' keeping is nice idea, even or especially, modern times. It's like a 'cheat day' during a diet.

Sad tbh
Hey BBC, will you feature the Metzitzah B'Peh?
they need to get a pet.
Keep trying or adopt.
This just reminded me of how much I loathe religion.

LOWE Sonia
But your rules are not theirs.
Saying “sore skin, red nose, and badly dressed” is you just being rude and making fun of her appearance.
