Seigo, such a stud. GripS2K? More like StudS2K
It's good to have an engineer who actually likes to drive, maybe a little crazy but has a really good feel for the road. ;)
I’m anxiously awaiting this truck ❤
Looking forward to footage of Seigo slaloming the Telo through some cones!!! Meanwhile, looking more forward to mine getting here...keep moving, team!!!
wish you guys best of luck and do better than canoo
I remember in the 90's automobile design students would be designing concept car renderings similar to the Telo and also Robotaxi designs. Crazy how long it takes for the industry to change and even now it really hasn't much. As an outsider view it never seemed like the auto industry could shift away from what it currently profited from. Hopefully Telo can sustain itself without much profit for a good amount of time.
You can understand that a viable manufacturer would generally continue to “go with what they know” and what they’ve invested it.
They’re going to have to find a home for the manufacture of the Telo. Perhaps a contract manufacturer that’s a match for the volume and methods they intent to use here.
That’s actually the hard part. They could complete awesome demos, have a really competent package, and arrive at a “If only we could sell it for $75K we would have a business”.
I haven’t seen manufacturing engineer types show up on the core team yet (though they may be on that). Everything they’re doing now will only truly matter if they put 5X the energy into establishing a viable manufacturing path.
So interesting to watch!
1:16 The bi-color (on the right) could be a great solution! 👍
Incredibly interesting to have a ringside seat throughout the development process of this vehicle.
Hypercritical will be continually validating that there is a high value path for the manufacture of each and every part, sub-assembly, and final assembly. “Working the costs” is something you do as you’re designing and testing, not something you “find out at the end”.
First shot out of the gate with a new team attempting to lay the groundwork for viability @ $50K for a product of this complexity is an insane challenge.
Loved my Kei Atria van, probably why I was so drawn to this design.
Can't wait to ride in one of these!
At least the TELO will have actual crumple zones, unlike kei vehicles that use the occupants bodies for that role. 😊
I'm sure the Office theme was Drew's idea.
Seigo would clearly appreciate this:
Tesla is known for their Plaid Editions.
Well known that it will kill a Hemi.
But we're into work trucks now, and there's that Raptor R out there.
And we need to compete with that. And win.
Therefore, as a customer, I humbly request a performance variant. (We pay more for these things.)
Again, it's a work truck, so...
May I suggest we call it a Flannel Edition?
Tell me you couldn't see it with a little swatch on the tailgate.
Nope, it's better to focus on the existing plans for single and dual motor with standard and long range packs. They will already have sufficient performance for most customers.
You’re right of course.
Since ordering this vehicle, as I've gone about my travels/tasks, I have continued to ask myself how the Telo is going to work with what I do. Both personally as well as commercially.
Today for example, I have to swap the F150 SuperCrew (5 1/2' box with cap) I happen to be driving for the E250 (8' inside) simply because a pickup I was just informed of, won't fit in the F.
The Telo would have done the job with the fold-down feature.
Have to say, I think the design is really sweet.
If ever there is/were a vehicle that I think will take off once we're out and about with them, I'll bet this is it!
It's going to do many things very well.
Enjoying meeting the Team!
It’s been 2 months since Aria received the first chassis. So approaching 1/3rd of the way, timeline-wise against their contribution, if I understand the schedule.
- Will we be getting an overview soon of their processes and progress?
- Will one of the 2 demos have the cap on it?
Exciting…
Yes one of them will, progress is coming along nicely. We’re excited to unveil them soon 😉
Perfect! Thanks for responding so quickly. You have a lot to do & appreciate you taking the time.
I hope to see a cool hot hatch(3 Door).
Random question for the Telo Team: What is the current height from the box floor to the underside of the cap opening? As in, if you slide in a box, how tall of a box can you fit?
Audio sync in this and previous video is not good.
This is vaporware. They don't even have a prototype, and it can take a year or two after a prototype before a car can be manufactured. Pure pipedream nonsense.
