holy shit. i had no idea there was a relationship mechanic in undone. seeing rando put himself down like that in the low relationship scene is fucking heart shattering and his conversation with buddy in the high relationship. its a tear jerker. a real pull to the heartstrings
In love with the relationship meter. Pointless was the only lisa game that had it before undone, but where pointless was between the relationship between two old men that just met and quickly grew close, undone is about Rando understanding Brad more and more when it comes to Buddy and Lisa. The things he takes up from Brad varying on the ending. Dustin is a very emotional man, as sad as it is, him taking joy seems fitting.
In the lisaverse it's kinda confirmed that the more emotionally unstable you are the stronger are your fireblasts Brad for exemple has his fireball turning into a fucking flamethrower And if the other fan games are canon (Spoiler alert for lisa the hopeful) If you get lanks route he get more fire related moves cus of what happen where benny get shot in the head and cyclop ditching them I know that the lanks (i know its not cannon but the fact it still happen kinda proove that fire is related to your emotions)
It wouldn't surprise me at all if Vega turned into a mudman after the Low Relationship Cutscene Also it's kinda interesting how we have the Dice Roll option to take the bullet for Buddy, it's *impossible* of course, but it gives me some sort of hope that we'll be able to actually do it in a future update... or that "option" just serves the purpose of making the player feel even more miserable
The last few things Rando said to Buddy in the High relationship ending at the campfire. Fuck, man. That pulls on my heart strings. And that ending in the low relationship value made my heart sink...
At the end of the day he’ll down that pill. But for completely different reasons. One instance he’ll feel like the most worthless man on the planet. The other…well we’ll just have to see if I’m right on this.
for some reason on my latest playthrough i got a 4th variant that wasnt in the video, there was high relationship dialogue between rando and buddy, but vega was killed like in medium relationship, anyone know whats up with that?
I like the idea of your actions affecting your relationship with your companions but the results of some of the events make 0 sense. An example of this would be the statue at the Rando Lands, because, even if you confort Rando after he destroys it, you gain negative points. Also changing his name also gives you negative points even though its a decision HE MAKES. I hope this system gets revised when the game gets a part 2
Some things are not really positive even If they seem to be. I see that every event that takes away points in the relationship has to do with his past, and even, you can see that in his dialogue here. I'm not sure about the part where Rando breaks that statue because I haven't encountered that interaction yet, but as for the name change, at first It didn't make sense, I know, but It does start to make sense when you know that he was only known as Dustin when he was exploited in the Circus with Jackie (And also every other thing he had to face before he was the Rando we know) Sometimes It's better to not recall old times when you're miserable there too yknow
@@Apieceofcakeshere yeah, I understand that looking back to the past makes Rando feel like a failure and that makes him sad. The situation on its own makes sense. However, it makes no sense that those things are tied with his relationship with Buddy. In the end, the relation gauge determains how much Rando loves Buddy, so it makes no sense that Rando likes Buddy less due to things outside of her control. An other example would be the bullet sidequest: even if Buddy says that she did the quest in order to help the man, you still get negative points, meaning that Rando is judging Buddy like she had killed the man herself. Im not against the idea that he views events such as the statue or the past cave as negative things, but that, due to this events, he views Buddy as a worse person. It would make sense that these events gave negative points to a different gauge, like a mental state gauge specific for Rando, but I think that would add more problems.
It's not like Rando likes Buddy less (unless you do the akira quest in chapter 4), he instead isolates himself and takes all the guilt and responsability (seen in the dialogue of the low relationship ending). In the end, he knows she's just a child, and no matter what, he wants to do what's best for her
@@Apieceofcakeshere I mean, he never hates Buddy (it wouldn't make sense), but him absolutely reducing Vega to his base particles in the high relationship ending shows that he likes Buddy more than in the low relationship, where he lets Vega live.
I think he only let Vega live cuz he feels what he says is right (He's a nobody) and just lets himself in with the Joy pill, where in difference of the High relationship ending, he doesn't care whatever he says and just annihilates him (He learned that hes something more valuable than the things that made him who he is in the past)
Doing all (or enough) events or choices that adds positive value to the variable! (And doing the best as possible to avoid events that gives negative value). As far as I remember, here are some: * In Chapter 2, speaking to the guy besides the statue in the bubble under the sea and choosing to come up for a theory about it (And not failing the chance) after telling him the truth about you, adds +1 * In Chapter 2, visting the flower guy while Rando has enough relationship value to wear the sweater adds +2 * In the end of Chapter 2, interacting with the box filled with balls and playing catch with Rando adds +1

I have no idea... but for sure doing all events that gives you a negative value, to the point of reaching -20. I would love to find out the certain events and decisions somehow though🤔 From the investigation and checking I've done so far... * Becoming addict to certain substances seems to skip events that would normally occur and add positive value to the relationship. I'm not sure which events you can skip. As far as I know, at the end of Chapter 3, going to the Disco place by proving that Buddy can party and making her dance adds one point in the relationship, in which, If she's addict to any drugs she will take another path to enter that place. (I haven't tested that yet, but I feel It is really like that) * At the end of Chapter 1, changing the name of Rando to Dustin takes you away points in the relationship. As I've seen, it adds -3 to the relationship value. * In Chapter 2, completing the side mission "The Gunsmith", specifically giving the Old Rifle to the big guy and letting him suicide decreases the value by 2. * In Chapter 2, going to the past cave (That one where you can visit places from the past of Buddy and all of the rest of the party members) decreases the value by 3. * In Chapter 2, If you let Rando climb up the hair rope thingy in the hidden hairy place that's in the pathway of the blue forest, an event will occur. Once you get out of there, the variable decreases value by 2. * In Chapter 4, during the speech that Judge Bagnio needs you to do, If you choose to follow his exact words, OR you choose to come up with the words yourself AND FAIL all of them, the value decreases by 3. * In Chapter 4, completing the third mission that Akira told you to do takes away 5 points of the relationship.
