One year the cherry tree outside my old apartment was dying, one day I saw a woodpecker going to town on it leaving a big gash in the trunk, the next year the tree was healthy again, I guess he ate whatever was killing it

@@clarabellcutting8745 any luck yet? Keep after it, they'll come! One of my favorite pileated "tricks" is to get a small cedar log. Use a hole saw and drill two to three 2" holes, drill an eye bolt in the top for hanging, and stuff the holes with suet. They love hanging from those.

Very beautiful! I found one around 2 to 3 weeks old, unable to fly in the balcony of my house before 3 days. Hoping to be of some help, I took it in to a safe and isolated spot in one of the rooms with some water and crushed almonds. Today, when I went in to feed, it was able to fly around the room, however, not in a way that will help her on the outside to survive because I feel it's still very young. So I decided to keep it till it's capable enough to fly away. I fear because there are many birds of prey around where I live
Can you please tell me what it is that you are feeding in the video? Appreciate!
