- This is a review of the DS-2CD2347G2-L(U) ColorVU Camera by Hikvision.
This is the Gen 2 version of the world-renowned ColorVU Camera.

can you listen to live audio while looking at live view ( I would be using blue iris) also its pretty chunky

Annke NC800 - HikVision OEM of the 4k version. You can even use the stock HikVision firmware.

Could you make a comparison of the picturequality between this DS-2CD2347G2 and the new 4k version DS-2CD2387G2?
I´m not sure if the 4k really is so much better in practical use and its worth the higher price?

Hi! Can someone please help me get the white light alarm to work . This setting doesn't exist in my settings here in Canada. I can't seem to find any of this ,hikvision told me the one I have doesn't have strobe light ,is this white light alarm is a strobe light ?
Very clear and very calmly spoken explanation. For me, here in the Netherlands, a reason to subscribe. I am very curious about the continuation with the explanation about the firmware update. I have now ordered a 2.8 and 4.0 Turret, so the option to set the supporting white light really appeals to me. Thanks.

4mp is good enough for residential IMO.
Great. Is there a turret 2MP version w ColorVu & Acusense? Only a 4MP surfaces and so hard to find /filter anything on these sites…
I have just downloaded the latest firmware from hikvision Australia V5.7.1 211009 DS-2CD2347G2-LU as I live in Australia but did notice led nor siren strobe linkage Method didn’t appear should I go Global or UK in firmware ??
What’s the best event type to be certain that someone is on driveway, ie not just a reflection of headlight, a sensor light turning on or even sunrise. Most of the events like cats and moths I have been able to fix using minimum but having a hard time with lights triggering it.
I thought line crossing would be best but still get false alarms, I already use smart events for cars on road late at night so I can quickly scrub to them but I might need to mix it around. Thanks

Is it possible to have the motion detection (human or vehicle) trigger an external flood light, rather than the small built in white LED?
Yes. Plenty of Motion activated Lights nowadays.

Hi there. I wanna use that cam on my property and since we have a lot of wild animals I wonder if it would be possible to use these not humans or cars as a trigger for the white light... That would be wonderful to see them clear at night

Yes you can. You simply don’t select the filter humans and vehicle checkboxes

I’m not aware of any limit to the amount of devices or users you can add via Hik-Connect. Will be fine to add your iPad

Hi, I need your help. Can you help me please? I have this camera called DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL and my problem is that if I put it from 4k to 1080p, the camera zooms a bit in which means the FOV shrinks. I am unable to understand why. I want to have it run at 1080p with the 111H and 59V FOV. What am I doing wrong? Any idea why it's happening? At 4K it's normal.
This is simply due to lowered Screen Resolution. What you can do is try Settings and switching from PAL to NTSC which either gives you square shaped Image or more rectangular.
Hi, I'm in the UK and have updated the firmware to V5.5.150 build 200927 which seems a newer firmware to the one you have but it doesn't have the white light alarm feature, do you know why this not added to a newer firmware?
this is a custom firmware, that I requested.

@@doublezero6974 I'm really not sure. HIkvision are funny with their regional settings. Please let me know if it works and I'll let people know.
@@SecPerth I installed your firmware and it actually displays the Firmware Version as V5.5.134 build 201014 its working fine, I have setup the light light alarm so will see if that works as it should later tonight, I have an SD card in mine and I did have to reformat as it was showing an error after firmware update so I did loose previous recordings.

@@SecPerth That's something I haven't been able to figure out from the Hikvision site or other videos, do I need an Acusense DVR or NVR to use an Acusense camera?
Do the new Gen 2 colourvu cameras only come in 4MP or is there an 8MP version as well?

Love the colorVU but the # plate portion is a bit far fetched, that demo example has 2 car photos and one car drivign with no headlights, once the headlights are on, both black/white older version and the colorVU fail completely. I dont know of many cars that drive at night without their headlights on. It's the only downside I could pick when deploying the colorvu's but it is what it is unfortunately.
It's from their brochure. I'll be sure to do my own tests in future.
@@SecPerth that would sound right. We replaced front of property cameras with these colorVu's in the hope for better number plate recognition in addition to the absolutely ridiculous night video it can take, the night pictures/video are just amazing. Most people dont believe it, the # plate part though is bad, however I'm not sure if any camera can be configured to deal with headlight glow, even when its not directly pointing at the camera, it struggles. Apparently manual focus point + higher exposure can help? not something i've toyed with yet.
The best thing if someone was being unlawful would be to go against the thought of 'lights off so nobody can see us' but instead hve lights on, lights on = camera will pick details of the car but no # plate, if lights are off you will get a # plate easily.
