*Correction: 7:50 - ''You never had these types of vision prior to the SCHISM'' (not vision)
I'm starting to realize that orthodox opinion about any Catholic issue is seldom good. The dogma of the Immaculate conception was defined before Lourdes apparitions, not after. These devotions that implies communion have the impact of making us fall in love with communion (that is with Christ) every day more. And I think that's the commitment of Our Lady, by the way
What about James the apostle getting a vision of Mary in the year 40?
@@ijp7578 I never heard of that. Mary was still on earth then. Can you tell me about it?
Karen Bartlett sure! You are right that Mary was still on earth, she died around the year 60-63. The apparition is therefore a bilocation. I’m not aware of any Eastern Orthodox saints had this ability but I know there are tales of St Padre Pio having it (if you believe it that’s put to you). So Mary must have been bilocating and appearing to James who was in Spain. The story tells us that she appeared on top of a pillar and told James to build a church there and that’s what happened. I might be wrong on this so I will give you a link to a better explanation. www.catholiccompany.com/getfed/first-marian-apparition-our-lady-pillar/
@@ijp7578 Thanks, bro. I'll check it out.
There is also the icon of the Theotokos "Unexpected Joy". An Orthodox Christian led a very sinful life but still prayed before an icon of the Mother of God and the Christ child. One day while praying he saw blood pouring from the hands and feet of the Christ child. Scared, he yelled "what has caused this?" Then he heard a voice say " every time you sin, you crucify my son anew. " This encouraged him to repentance and the joy of brought to him. Again, this did not change the dogma of the Orthodox Church.
The fire of Jerusalem is still good to venerate, but as you said the Divine Liturgy is also as great a miracle.
Divine Liturgy is a miracle that is absolutely necessary for our salvation; Holy Fire is just neat :-D
One thing everyone should remember is that, even when an apparition is approved in the Roman Catholic Church it is not required to believe in it.
@@Gab3784won dumbest comment of the year
@@BKT_04 Catholicism is even more dumb
"If you have never seen the holy fire, every Liturgy is inconceivably more miraculous than that"
That is beautifully put. I know I take for granted the mystery of the Liturgy and seek signs and visions. But I miss the greatest moment of theophany in my life, that occurs at the altar ever Sunday at Liturgy. I see my Christ, my God come to his people, and offer of himself for our salvation. Who needs any miracles or holy fire when we have that?
Wow, that is a beautiful statement, from you both. Glad I read it, 3 years later.
I’m a Roman Catholic priest and I do enjoy your videos and am grateful for your ability to share your talents. You’re very level headed and I appreciate that the most. Which is why I’m thankful you call certain segments “rants,” as they typically do not flow out of the same researched, logical platform, that your other videos stem from. Your humor is gold, and it is smart. Still, I’m sure even you know, that the presentation you gave on Catholic declaration on dogma and Marian apparitions are, well, caricatures, as opposed to icons of the truth of the stories. Still made me laugh, which I appreciate. The apparition at Lourdes, by the way, which voiced the Mother of God as saying “I am the Immaculate Conception” occurred 4 years after the dogma of the Immaculate Conception was pronounced in Rome, not before. Remember, brother, it may not be a dogma in the east, but it sure is in your prayers, and “the law of prayer is the law of belief “- an axiom that ties us both east and west into the hidden bond of Tradition. In the west, this title (Immaculate Conc) was necessary beyond piety, as further research into the subject might reveal to us, that in certain periods of history, developments and declarations and authentic apparitions have taken place in the various churches for reasons only in retrospect can be detected. Plus, it gave the singer Madonna a catchy title for her music album. So there’s that? Peace!

Brother these Mary apparitions are the fallen in disguise. Leave your flock to the only truth, which is in Jesus Christ. Blessed be the Most High
I think you are incorrect about when the dogma of the immaculate conception was made, it was after the lady of Lourdes apparition in France by Pope Pius the 11th.. the appearance was what spurned the dogma
@@St_Augustines_Cry8 It was defined as a dogma on December 8, 1854. The first apparition at Lourdes occurred February 11, 1858
1. 40 AD ( Bilocation of mary to st James)
2. Dogma is not defined by an apparition
3. Not all visions have a consequence
4. Fatima... conversion of Russia ( convert Russia from communism and from the revolution)
5. First 5 Saturdays devotion
( first Saturdays of 5 months....go to confession, communion, pray for the pope, meditate of the life of Christ,go to mass)
6. Lourdes ( Mary appeared to st Bernadette in an apparition telling her to pray for souls and their conversion.....the dogma of the immaculate conception was made a dogma even before the apparition at lourdes )
7. Since mary is sinless then she is the immaculate conception
1854 - Pope Pius IX declares the dogma of immaculate conception
1858 - apparitions in Lourdes where Mary calls herself Immaculate conception
First the dogma then the apparition. And this is the only case of appartion having sth to do with dogma (I believe).
Yes, big mistake on my part. :-)
In the apparition of Our Lady of Good Success,
" infallibility will be declared a dogma of Faith by the same Pope chosen to proclaim the dogma of the mystery of my Immaculate Conception. He will be persecuted and imprisoned in the Vatican through the usurpation of the Pontifical States and through the malice, envy, and avarice of an earthly monarch.”
~~300 years before both Vatican 1 and the making of the Immaculate Conception as dogma
Thank you so so much, I am becoming Orthodox and am so grateful to you and The Holy Trinity.
Great video. We need to be very careful about dreams and visions since Satan loves to use ego to entice men to sin. Jesus said clearly "Blessed are those who believe without seeing." In the case of Fatima the Roman Church was very careful about accepting it and many of the ideas surrounding Fatima are not accepted by the Church. I have been Orthodox for 35 years now and I appreciate the caution the Orthodox Church proceeds without making everything a dogma. Good point on Our Lady of Guadalupe; Our Mother Mary is very humble and any vision that creates a dogma that is not likely to come from a very humble and God fearing woman is false.
Amen that’s my thoughts exactly! Not all miracles are from God.
@@A.S2400 the virgin mary appears with this omph and your first thought is "OH MY GOD SATANIC - ITS NOT COMING FROM GOD"
I am an orthodox and I visited Guadalupe with a typical orthodox smug attitude. I said I would not buy anything from there, but I changed my mind at the very last minute and I bought a small icon, just in case I was wrong. And at that exact moment, I felt the grace of God upon me. That taught me a huge lesson. About the other catholic miracles, I consider them rather cases of mass hysteria.
Our Lady of Guadalupe converted 8 million pagans.

On what authority do you judge that one apparition is authentic and the other is mass hysteria? Based on your feelings?

Over here in France, the Orthodox usually believe in the Lourdes apparition. It is on March 25th - the feast day of the Annunciation - that Mary said she is the Immaculate Conception, and therefore the Orthodox interpret this to mean that she was talking about the immaculate conception of Jesus.
Also, Catholics love Medjugorje over here. I know a deacon who wouldn't stop talking about it.
Interesting re the Orthodox, but there is ALWAYS an overlap with popular Christian pilgrimage sites, especially Marian ones. :-)
In Hispanic countries, Orthodox love Guadalupe too. This one might be legit though because it happened a lot like Orthodox apparitions.
I would love to see a video about the Jerusalem “holy fire.”

Idk... Guadalupe seems pretty plausible. I'm Orthodox but I kinda like that one as a guilty pleasure. 😂
It definitely has a different 'flair' than other big ones :-)
Well put.
I like the personal, intimate aspect of the Orthodox visions.
Likewise :-)
how are you❤️🙏🏽?

I have had a few visions and a couple of Miracles but I didn't run anywhere to tell people about them. Number one most people wouldn't have believed me and number to my mother knew these things happened so I could talk to her and I did. She passed away a year ago so I keep them to myself but they don't happen often and I'm not some special person.
You should make a video about Blessed St. Xenia of Petersburg. I took your encouragement to read about the lives of the Fools-For-Christ and her story grew on me. Maybe a Reliquary video, perhaps.
I will make a Reliquary episode at one point. :-)
@@BanterWithBojan Cool, thank you!
@Bible Illustrated Hands What can you say on the apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Mexico, known as the Lady of Guadalupe? An image on a tilma (impossibly used as a medium for painting) without any human trace.
I also believe in Our Lady of Guadelupe. I think Bojan said at the end of the video that his bishop believes, or at least doesn't discount, this vision of Mary because she left her imprint on Juan Diego's cloth and she didn't cause any fear or panic and caused the conversion of Mexico.
What do you think of the apparition to the Coptic Church in Zeitoun, Egypt, 1968 - 70?
"I am the Immaculate Conception, I am the Papal Infalliability, I am the Filioque. Go tell the bishop!" LOL
Mary described herself as the Immaculate
Conception to the children at Fatima.
Papal Infalliability and the Filioque have nothing
to do with the Theotokos (i.e. the B.V.M -- Blessed
Virgin Mary)
The Filioque was a response by the Western Church
(RCC) to the Arian controversy in Hispania and other
areas of the western portion of the Roman empire
Papal Infalliability was a religious-political push back
to the Protestant Reformation.
Mary said that she was the Lady of the Rosary at Fatima.
@@robertwaguespack9414 She said she was the Immaculate Conception at Lourdes.
@@here_we_go_again2571 she said that, supposedly, at Lourdes.
Fatima was much more focused on politics. First World War, the Liberal First Portuguese Republic, which had a very anti-clerical bent and the Revolution in Russia... then comes, Papal authority.
She’s like a heavenly Karen!
Dear Bojan, first of all, thank you for all your wonderful videos. This time, however, I have to correct you on one point. The apparition in Lourdes (1858) happened after the proclamation of the dogma of the immaculate conception (1854). By the way, to my knowledge it never happened that a catholic dogma was proclaimed as the result of an apparition. That’s fortunate, because most of the more recent ones are rather bonkers. When are you going to post the video about the toll-houses? I’m immensely looking forward for that one. Best wishes, Fr. Hugo
Hello Fr. Hugo, yes, you're quite right. Still, I would say that the apparition is simply a move to gain approval for the dogma. :-) As for the tollhouses, the video goes live on Friday. :-)
I remember the year was 1986. They were talking about this monjita (small nun) who was having these visions. She said that God was going to punish Miami for all the drugs and illicit sex. The bishop didn't want to listen. Six years later Hurricane Andrew came and Miami was destroyed.
Dear Brother in Christ, please remember that prior to the Great Schism we were all One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church. In is upon us to return to the Unity that Christ prayed for. That is, the Latin Church with the Three Branches of Orthodoxy (Eastern, Oriental & the East), then together we can figure out how to bring back all the Protestant Churches one by one.
Is there any modern apparitions that are well known in the orthodox church?
Zeitoun, maybe?
Guadalupe has a big following in Mexico and Guatemala among the Orthodox.
I do like Guadalupe :-)
I wanted to ask what is your opinion on the difference between the Eastern Orthodox Church (Greece, Serbia, Russia) and the oriental orthodox church (Armenia, Assyria, Egupt); Would you perhaps do a video on this. Your video is magnificent!
Argyrus 47 ^ I would like this too
Also curious. All I ever see is "these churches are non-Chalcedonian" without an explanation of what that means.
@@Statinthehat Non Chalhedonian means that the do not follow the rules established by the synod of Chalhedon. Yet I do not know exactly what are those.
@Temesgen Abraha I know, thanks for mentioning them.
Just a quick note - Assyrians are largely Nestorian, they have their own communion, which is not with the Orientals.
4:27
To be fair the first Marian vision that supported the Immaculate Conception happened *after* Pius IX proclaimed it as Dogma, not before. So the visions never actually caused a change or development in Doctrine itself
10:41
Actually people did believe in the Immaculate Conception during that time. Dominicans traditionally opposed it and Franciscans tradionally promoted it, with both generally agreeing that Mary never commited any actual sin. Also, its important to notice that the Dominicans believed Our Lady was cleansed of original sin very early in her life, like before her birth.
And even Augustine himself seems to court with Immaculate Conception by saying "We must except the holy Virgin Mary, concerning whom I wish to raise no question when it touches the subject of sins, out of honour to the Lord".
I noticed that Belgrade has a regular bus service to Medjugoire, there aren't enough Catholics there to make this viable so Orthodox must be going. I know there are Orthodox trips from here in Romania.. Thank you Bojan for your comments. I am a very skeptical Papist, it is refreshing for me to hear what you have to say. Certainly, it simply isn't scriptural to go chasing miracles and prophecies and indeed some of these visions cloud scripture, introduce novelty into prayer and produce no discernable fruit, just endless division, joylessness and dodgy end-times thinking.... It ain't easy being a Catholic
I don't know if anyone has already said you that the Lourdes' apparitions have happened AFTER the proclamation fo the Immaculate Coneption's dogma: the dogma was proclaimed in 1854; the first of the Lourdes' apparitions, was in 1858. :) Just for precision's sake
Yes yes, people were kind enough to point it out to me :-)
This is a fair assessment. I myself am the midway point between Catholodox and Protestant so I am not as antagonistic to apparitions of the Saints. Generally I don't support invoking them...but I don't doubt the Saints have some sort of power.
Let's just talk about Fatima for a second here. There are multiple things that bother me about this vision.
1) The Lady said the war would "end soon". It ended a year after the vision ended. Now...I suppose a year technically could be *soon*....but "soon" is vague. It definitely allows for a lot of wiggle room in the interpretation.
2) It does not appear as if this apparition predicted the start of the war correctly (as in, the start of WW2). She said it would start in the reign of Pius XI. Pius XI died before WW2 began (which was in September of 1939. Pius died before the war began). The only way you can reconcile this is by saying the war DIDN'T start with German invasion of Poland...but rather Japanese invasion of China (which did happen in Pius' reign). Now we're splitting hairs.
3) The lady never declares that she is Mary...only that she is the Lady of the Rosary. Why not...say the obvious? "I am Mary". I'm not saying that it's not possible that she isn't Mary...but insistence on the usage of that title bothers me. Think about messengers in the Bible...they openly declare who they are. "I am Gabriel". They use their names rather than titles.
4) She never prays with them...or even tells them what they need to repent of. All she says is "pray the rosary" and "consecrate yourselves to my immaculate heart". I'd expect (or hope) that an apparition would bring convictions of specific sins rather than a general "give sacrifices" and "pray this thing in honor of me".
5) that phrase..."my immaculate heart will prevail"...makes me shudder every time. It's like...whatever God does is at the will of Mary. I think of Mary in the Bible...how humble and meek she is (and I hold her in high regard). I just don't know if these are the words of a humble or meek person.
Out of respect for Mary...I will not take a hard line and say "demonic apparition"...but I am greatly troubled by some parts of the vision.
I especially resonate with your last point!
I have never told the priests the things that I have seen heard and felt.
I am the Papal infallibility lololol
The local bishop has rejected Medjogorie.
Question. At the end of the video you reject the miraculousness of the Holy Fire (I agree). But more recently you posted a video about it seemingly supporting its miracuolousness. What changed your mind?
Bojan, what do you think about the miracle of Soufanieh in damas? there is a lot of information about Her on the internet. Christ also appeared to the lady Mirna, who is Melkite, and her husband Orthodox.
Again, not a huge fan of visions and visionaries.
@@BanterWithBojan there is not only visions and messages but also Oil and the Stigmata. the nazzour family have remained very simple.
You say that you don't know a Catholic who believes in Medjugorje... Let me introduce myself... 😉
What I believe about Marian apparitions is this:
1. God uses the weak and the fools to confound the strong and the wise, so it's no surprise that He would choose to send Mary particularly to children & women, as they were/are often *considered* weak & foolish when compared to men (especially more so in the past...)
2. These are private revelations, which do not require specific belief from all of the Church. We can individually choose to believe what is revealed or not.
3. A house divided against itself cannot stand. In the Marian apparitions that you refer to: Lourdes, Fatima, Medjugorje, Mary asks us to pray the rosary which is a meditation on a series of mysteries from Jesus' life. They revolve around 4 themes: Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious mysteries. Yes, the Catholic Rosary contains more than twice as many Hail Mary's as it does prayers directed to God specifically (Creed, Our Father, Glory be, & I'll include the "Oh my Jesus! Forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Your Mercy." prayer from Fatima...) Even so, the Rosary is a prayer where we walk with Mary and meditate on the life of her Son and our Lord, Jesus Christ. Do you think the devil would really encourage us to focus and/or meditate on the life of Christ in ANY way? I know that anytime I focus & meditate on the life of Christ, I draw nearer to God.
4. I know of no credible Marian apparition where Mary introduced herself as "papal infallibility" (I know you were joking, but just to be clear...) I do know that she introduced herself to Bernadette Soubirous at Lourdes as the Immaculate Conception, but this was AFTER the Catholic Church had recently (within a few years) declared her Immaculate Conception a dogma of the Church. This is why it was so surprising to the Clergy when Bernadette, an uneducated girl from rural France said it... She couldn't, and didn't know, what it means.
5. As far as giving warnings of calamities to come, this also makes sense. As a parent, I give "similar" warnings to children... "You will get hurt if you don't stop doing that and start doing this..." I speak on an individual basis, she speaks at a global level. Her warnings are for larger scale events than a mother warning a willful child about a hot stove...
Even so, with all I have said, there is no requirement to believe in any of these Marian Apparitions. I personally believe in Lourdes, Kibeho, and to some degree, Medjugorje... I reserve full judgment on the totality of the apparitions & the evaluation of the Church. Would she visit daily and send messages regularly? She is our loving mother, and we are a particularly sick world. Just as I, in my imperfect love, would tend to my sick child and bring messages to them, it seems reasonable that she, in her more perfect love for us, would do the same. So for now, I believe that something special is going on in Medjugorje, and that God will draw all possible good from it, even if it's not 100% "kosher"... God, not Mary, though maybe through her, will bring all good out, as He brought the greatest good possible through of the greatest evil on Earth... Our salvation through the death (& resurrection) of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Keep up the good work on your videos. We thoroughly enjoy them! God bless you!
As a Catholic who never questioned Marian Apparitions I have become concerned that all may not be as it seems. I agree with your points but why, In Guadalupe did Mary ask for a Church to be built to her? Why, in Paris does the Immaculate medal have her image on and not Christ's? These subtle doubts have really led me to concentrate more on John 14:6 - "Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.". Always remember that Satan is supremely clever and will use our vulnerabilities to deceive us.
@Candy Clews Many, if not most, churches are dedicated to saints (or rather I should say dedicated to God in honor of saints), one close to me is in honor of St. Thomas More (or think St. Peter's Basilica), so Mary saying to built a church in her honor isn't crazy and weird (it's somewhat to be expected). For the Mary Medal, an icon can totally just show a single saint and doesn't need to show Christ on it (ex. early icons of the Apostles Peter, Paul, John, and Andrew). There are plenty of statues and images of just Mary in the Catholic Church, like for the Annunciation, Immaculate Conception, Our Lady of Sorrows, and Our Lady of Guadalupe; and I've seen many Eastern Orthodox icons like of the Cincrure of the Theotokos or of the Theotokos the Holy Protection that just have Mary. That's not a new thing. Remember our veneration of saints doesn't take away from the glory and honor we give God, but in fact, when we venerate those who showed how deeply they loved God and lived for him, we actually give great honor and glory to God.
Great video, what's your opinion on Catholic Rosary Bead's vs Orthodox prayer ropes and the things the old rite believer's use?

Clearly you've never visited a Catholic faith sharing group in southern Massachusetts (for reasons other than that the you've never been a Catholic). Unless we're talking about a faith sharing group comprised of those radical Latins who call us heretics and condemn us to Hell (to any Catholics reading this, I'm referencing the type of fringe Catholicism I practiced before becoming Orthodox), you'll find most people there would regard Medjugorje to be authentic. From what I've read, Medjugorje tends to be popular among mainstream American Catholics and it's mostly diehard conservatives (especially Traditionalists) who oppose it.
Well, that would explain a lot. I was present on the Fisheaters forums and I suppose it didn't really reflect the wider Catholic opinion on the matter.
Medjugorje is absolutely a grift. Their bishop condemned it. A recurring, scheduled "apparition" should get anyone's hackles up.
I find the Fatima vision’s message insulting to the Russian martyrs.
The prayers of Mary at Fatima were to end persecution of Christians in Russia, by ending communism in that country. It wasn't about the Schism between East & West itself.
What do you think about Jesus apparitions, like divine mercy image ?
A few corrections: First, Catholic Marian apparitions accepted by the church do NOT always result in new devotions (you have probably never heard of a new devotion for Our Lady of Kibeho or Our Lady of Akita which are approved by no new devotion). Second, no, they are not always accompanied by negative "create a new devotion or humanity will suffer" message; in fact the ONLY one with such as message is Fatima, which is ridiculous. Lastly, ALL Marian apparitions are considered "Private" in the Catholic church; regardless of whether they result in a public feast day, ANY Catholic can say, "I don't believe there was ever an apparition in Lourdes, Fatima, Guadalupe etc" and still be a believing Catholic. In other words, it doesn't affect their salvation in any way. I hope this helps.
Akita isstrange. I am the only one who can save you?.
It is also not true that all Marian apparitions are post Schism. The first Marian apparition in history appeared to Saint James the Apostle, the brother of Saint John the Evangelist, on the bank of the river Ebro in Saragossa, Spain. Unlike every other recorded apparition, this one took place during the earthly life of the Mother of God.
According to tradition, she had promised Saint James that when he needed it most in his difficult mission to the pagans in today’s Spain, she would appear to him to encourage him.
In the year 40 A.D., while praying one night on the Ebro bank, the Virgin appeared with the Child Jesus standing on a pillar and asked Saint James and his eight disciples to build a church on the site, promising that “it will stand from that moment until the end of time in order that God may work miracles and wonders through my intercession for all those who place themselves under my patronage.”
The church of Our Lady of the Pillar in Zaragoza, is the first church dedicated to Mary in history and it remains standing to this day, having survived invasions and wars - in the Spanish Civil War of 1936-1939 three bombs were dropped on the church and none of them exploded.
Our Lady is also said to have given the small wooden statue of the apparition to Saint James which now stands on a pillar in the church.
And Guadalupe also was a vision the image of which was already known & traditional in the Church. And, yes, I am not Orthodox because of fire.
Hail Holy Queen pray for us oh Holy Mother of God that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
“I am the Papal Infallibility!” 😂
Fatima has the RCC by the throat, sad to say. It makes me glad that changes in the Orthodox Church take eons to implement.
So, what do you think of the dreaded Three Days of Darkness?
Hope your cough is better soon!
That is how religion should be a stable anchor. Laws change. Cultures change. Borders change. The God does not.
Considering the RCC that you view literally pretends Fatima does not exist (only Traditional Catholics seem to care) I think it's rather silly for you to say that.
Mary has not defined any Dogma of our Church. You are ignorant of us. And as for the quick changes in the RCC of late, don't worry. We'll do away with that diabolical Council soon.
God bless.
I never heard that in any appearance of Mary she said "I am the Papal Infallibility". If I hadn't researched her appearances I wouldn't have learned to respect her, having been raised Baptist, and I wouldn't have eventually started to look for the original Church, which I believe to be Orthodox. Bojan says Mary's belt or mantel is symbolic of her care for ALL (well-meaning) people. Then why disparage or ridicule her appearances to people other than Orthodox? She appeared in 1519 or so to Juan Diego, a poor Indian man in Mexico, and because of that appearance all of the Mexicans converted to Christianity instead of demon-worship. Do you fault her for that? The cloth she gave to Juan Diego has her image on it, and that image is 500 years old, has never faded and has some pretty inexplicable properties. It's called Our Lady of Guadalupe. You should research it instead of simply assuming that her appearances to non-Orthodox are a joke. I would be afraid, personally, to think that her attempts to bring people to Christ are something to laugh about.
@@WestsidePredator Yeah, and if anybody wants to know what the Traditional Catholics say (I think you mean Catholics who don't accept Vatican II) then this website talks a lot about Fatima: vaticancatholic.com. I warn you, they are very judgmental of Catholics who go to post-Vatican II churches. Since I never went to a pre-Vatican II church (I wanted to go to Catholic church as a little girl but was not allowed-we were Baptist) it kind of hurt my feelings. They think any post-Vatican II Catholics are damned to hell or something like that.
Karen Bartlett not all Traditional Catholics are Sedevacantists. MHFM who you linked are pretty crazy. When I say Traditional Catholics I tend to describe those whose spirituality is derived from the Tridentine Latin Mass and the doctrines of the Church before the Council.
You made some mistakes when you talked about these visions. Lourdes happened after Pope Plus IX declared the Immaculate Conception. With respect to Fatima the Blessed Virgin said that if the people do not repent then there would be a worse world war. That is exactly what happened. With respect to the conversion of Russia isn't the revival Orthodoxy something good? How can this not be the triumph of the Theotokus?
From what I've experienced, 'conversion of Russia' was taken to mean 'conversion to Catholicism' ;-) But yeah, if that is what the vision meant (what you say), I'm all for it!
I am told that it is what Sister Lucy said that it meant.
Let us all praise the Theotokus.
@Bible Illustrated Hands The consecration of Russia to stop Russia from "spreading its errors" meant the conversion from atheism and communism as the Bolsheviks had just taken power, and boy did they spread those errors. And indeed, Pope JP2 in "spirtual union with all the bishops of the world" consecrated the whole world (including Russia) and all people to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1984. Gorbachew came to power less than a year later, the Berlin Wall fell 5 years later, and the Soviet Union fell less than a couple years after that. And not just that, but Christianity (specifically Russian Orthodoxy) has greatly increased since, a great gift by the grace of God. That could perhaps just be a coincidence, but then again, perhaps not. (Also, those "traditionalist" Catholics who reject that the consecration happened in 1984 and normally reject the recent Popes are probably the ones saying that it meant "conversion to Catholicism")
Btw in case you didn't know, Catholics are in no way required to believe in approved Marian Apparitions, cause they're private not public revelations in the technical terms, (though I don't think they can openly deny the official approval, i.e. it doesn't contradict the faith, cause that would be questioning the authority of the Magisterium, i.e. the interpretive teaching body of the bishops and the Pope) but I would say they're believed by most Catholics.
Also some questions: While I've mentioned it, does the Orthodox Church have a similar or somewhat similar teaching body like the Catholic Magisterium? Is it like each autonomous church has its own? Also should I refer to it as the Orthodox Church or is it more of the Orthodox Churches now cause of the whole excommunication/schism thing? Or does it depend on one's perspective of the whole situation? Also is the Immaculate Conception viewed as a problem to Orthodox just cause of the papal infalbility thing, or does it have to do with the doctrine, or is it more because of the scholastic terminolgy normally used to express it? I've read from an Eastern Catholic deacon that the problem is over the semantics of terminology between West and East, which wouldn't be the first time, (see his website east2west.org/faq/doctrine). Is he correct is his explanation (at least on the Eastern traditions, terminology, and theology)?
@@landonweist The main difference is with filioque and the authority of the Pope. When the issue of papal authority is resolved then everything else will fall into place.
Apparently this guy has never seen the footage from Garabandal. The girl literally has the host _manifest_ on her tongue, from nowhere. It was on film! They had _many_ great and well recognized events.
Hosts and unleavened bread for liturgy are uncanonical
If I have a choice between a Host that has been consecrated by a Priest or a Host that has appeared out of thin air. The one that has been consecrated by a priest is the most important one.

I can do whatever I want I have Papal Infallibility.
Argyrus 47 -that's not how the concept of papal infallibly works, though. Papal infallibility is only from when (for example) there is an issue in the Church, say that maybe there are people who believe heresy X, and then tye pope will enter the seat of peter, and then condemn heresy x using evidence from the scriptures, ecumenical councils, church fathers etc. A pope cannot Change a doctrine, a pope is subject to it (which is why more and more people are condemning the second Vatican Council)
You might think the pope is a monarch who uses papal infallibility to do whatever they wish, but in reality papal infallibility is far more intricate and far more restrictive then "I'm pope ill do what I want."
At the very least Bojan doesn't make baseless assumptions about the Catholic church, no matter how much he disagrees with its teachings
Richy Rich- Yes, because the pope has scriptural basis, namely the book of John, who pits extreme emphasis on Jesus being God in the flesh. If a pope claims papal infallibily on something that is doctrinally incorrect, he is anathema, or what you could call, an Antipope.

Bad things happen to those who don't repent of their sins.

No and I'm posting a very vitriolic video on them on Friday. :-)

About $500/month, but only when my personal cosmetologist isn't at the estate.

Someone sounds jealous:
I believe that the impact of these Apparitions are a point in their favor. Certainly Lourdes has borne more fruit that some old woman finding a picture in a field. And you are really mischaracterizing some of these apparitions:
1. Lourdes - 1858, Our Lady appeared to Bernadette Soubirous. For the most part, she simply and silently invited Bernadette to say the rosary. To my knowledge there were no threats of torment, hell, or judgement. Her self-idetification as "the Immaculate Conception" did not precede the Dogma, which was declared in 1854. The belief itself dates back to the 2nd century in the pseudoevangelion of James. It is true St. Thomas Aquinas denied the Immaculate Conception but he believed in something very much like it, that she very briefly was exposed to the stain of Original Sin, but was immediately purified of it.
[Btw... what is your problem with the doctrine? Do you believe that Mary was a sinner?]
Many miracles occur at Lourdes in particular during the Eucharistic Procession.
2. Fatima - "but the Pharisees said, 'He casts out demons by the Prince of demons.'" That's all I have to say to your suggestion that the miracle of the sun was demonic in nature.
For an Orthodox christian to criticize Catholics for various conspiracy theories is a case of the pot calling the kettle black don't you think? To your questions: yes, Russia was consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, but not until Communism like a cancer to the rest of the world. St. Lucinda said this was so and she also denied the conspiracy theory regarding the third secret. I see no logical reason to doubt her.
Yes, she spoke a lot about hell, but then WWI marked the beginning of the downward slide into no fault divorce, abortion on demand, same sex marriage, hook up culture, strident Atheism, nuclear proliferation, etc. Of course no one was threatened with hell for failing to say the Rosary. She only encouraged the faithful to pray daily in order to resist the forces of Hell which are currently on the ascendant.

What do you mean you're not a fan of the Holy Fire? It's just fireworks? You mean the Holy Light we get at Pascha-Easter?
Yes, that one. :-)
@@BanterWithBojan you mean you don't believe in it? Or you're just not that excited about it?

@@BanterWithBojan Say WHAT? I love the Holy Fire miracle!
So you are saying that we should abolish them all the apparitions? And consider them anathema?
Not all, but I find some of them rather problematic.
Like what PLS don't mention Fatima or Lourdes
I am also careful to judge and needs more research into such phenomena. Most media information however only focus on the actual events itself but not really on an explanation as to why apparitions happen. In other words there must be deeper hidden meaning or message for humanity. Could it be that the Theotokos appears differently to catholics than to the orthodox.
The only marian apparition I believe in is The virgin of Guadalupe
the Marian apparitions never inspire new dogmas. there may be a new devotion (though normally they already existed in some form already) but if you don't like that then take it up with Heaven, also that you're not impressed with a miracle performed by the Mother of God. only Heaven knows WHY Our Lady requested Russia to be consecrated. you also get confused the concept of First Fridays / First Saturdays; the idea has never been that something greater than the Eucharist occurs. and you contradict yourself; the fact that St Thomas Aquinas rejected the Immaculate Conception (on a technical point only) SHOWS people believed it.
Very Skeptical of Marian Apparitions. They do not impress me and I find them very dubious. I know Catholics who are heavy into Medjugorje. They are confusing and never say anything I think is very worthwhile. Usually the opposite.
Orthodox or roman catholic, what is important is they leave communism and return to God
Satan can also appear as an angel of light
Of the sinners do not convert then something bad will happen to them.
Yup
I have traced the Marian Apparitions, a number of them to local folklore, with pagan gods nature. I said that in Catholic forum, and got banned.
Which forum was that?
The Church scrutinizes alleged apparitions for things such as you you just described. Very few Marian apparitions (or apparitions from other Saints) are recognized by the Church.
@@splashenful there are some slanderous accusations nowadays that Guadalupe is actually the pagan goddess Tzoantzin
@@splashenful but these are usually peddled by people who look into the apparition for like 3 seconds
@@cristeromexico3366 It's actually very common for anti-catholic bigots to claim that the Virgin Mary is some pagan goddess.
Explain what the miracles left behind mean. Like what does the tilma of Juan Diego mean? What does the miracles in the groto at Lourdes mean? What does the miracle of the sun at Fatima mean?
I believe that the definition of blasphemy is "attributing to the devil the works of God". It's what they accused Christ of. They said He had a demon, the ones who crucified Him, and that His works were demonic. I don't see why people aren't afraid of committing blasphemy when they so casually "make fun" about appearances of St. Mary to people which result in them turning to God. Remember, any appearance or vision of St.Mary is potentially with the permission of God and therefore is the work of God. You may not personally believe them, but it would be very wise not to denigrate them. I would be afraid to, myself. Here's a good video in which Father Nikon of the Orthodox Church talks about Mary the Mother of God: th-cam.com/video/jtQKG90072M/w-d-xo.html
Marian Apparition of Grigori Rasputin:
-Within The Orthodox Church
-didn’t cause any major dogmatic changes
From this we can conclude that Rasputin’s vision of Mary was valid, thank you and no further questions
Aren't we a living church? Shouldnt our understanding of revelation become more defined and understood as time goes on?
Two words: Fatima apparitions
When Mary commands the people for a new devotion- it isn't said "do this or the world will suffer" it is "do this so you can pray for the world, so that it doesn't suffer". Haven't seen any dogma get triggered by marian apparitions either. New devotions are not imposed on the church, the church chooses to do it as seen fit. This video seems to have very strong anti-catholic bias mixed into it.
Most Catholics aren't even required to accept private revelations.
Yes, I made a mistake regarding visions and them triggering dogmas. However, these apparitions do have a sense of urgency to them - consecrate Russia... or...
@@BanterWithBojan but i always believed that consecration of russia meant that russia woild return to christianity under the orthodox church- in the views of the catholic church, our orthodox brethren are not heretical and have valid sacraments- so it isn't strange to assume that our lady meant this. I believe the bigger issue here is that the orthodox are secretly afraid of what the apparitions of the blessed mother says about the validity of the catholic church- since the orthodox view us as heretics- but it seems that heaven does not make this distinction. Apparitions of the blessed mother are not a new thing by any means, and many orthodox have claims to marian apparitions as well.
How come Catholic priest expel demons as do the Orthodox priests ?
I think you've got it all wrong about apparitions, but I do respect your well-stated, albeit completely wrong opinion.
thank you for your detailed arguments.
@@lessthandust Not meant to be an argument, but thanks anyway.
Mary is always demanding things in her honor in catholic apparitions! Mary would never do that- demand churches in her name, demand devotions in her name... you know who does demand these things? Demons.
