I had an occurance beginning of Advent 2018. I was about to sit down to eat a meal I was espescially looking foreward to eating. During my prayer before my meal, for some reason I just felt the need to pray to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God to pray for my grandmother's soul. She had passed away in 2015 and I knew she always had a special devotion to our Blessed Mother.
I then felt a presence behind me. I did not see anything but I felt the Blessed Virgin's presence and distinctly I remember understanding the twelve stars as Our Holy Queen's crown and that was how I knew. I felt that she was telling me to put down my meal, go in my room and pray a Chaplet of Divine Mercy for my grandmother and to fast until after Mass the next day (it was Saturday evening). I did so and I have had a massive conversion in the two and one half years since. And I do not feel the need to pray for my grandmother as I did before then. (I still do just in case since well feelings are fickle and fallible as the rest of me)
Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us.
Praise be God! Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen!

      The Archivist
      THE ARCHIVIST WROTE:
" I then felt a presence behind me. I did not see anything but I felt the Blessed Virgin's presence and distinctly I remember understanding the twelve stars as Our Holy Queen's crown and that was how I knew. "
The woman with the crown and 12 stars of Revelation 12:1 is NOT Mary.
This is Roman Catholic's misuse of Revelation 12, which focuses on the woman clothed with the sun with the moon under her feet and on her head a crown of 12 stars. Roman apologist Patrick Madrid claims that this passage, “hints at her [Mary’s] Assumption.” (Patrick Madrid, Where is that in the Bible?, [Our Sunday Visitor Publishing Division, 2001], p. 72).
However, it is clear here that the woman is not Mary, but the people of God. There are 3 main characters in Revelation 12; the woman, the Child (Jesus), and the dragon (Satan). There are also 3 episodes; the birth of the Child (verses 1-6), the expulsion of the dragon from heaven to earth (verses 7-12), and the dragon’s war against the woman and her children (verses 13-17). The following are the reasons why the woman here is not Mary but instead, the people of God.
      1. The woman being clothed with the sun, having the moon under her feet and having a crown of 12 stars, verse 1, proves she is God’s people for these heavenly symbols are metaphorical for Israel. As G.K. Beale and Sean M. McDonough remark:
“The picture of the woman is based on Genesis 37:9 (cf. T. Naph. 5.3), where sun, moon, and eleven stars are the metaphorical respectively for Jacob, his wife, and the eleven tribes of Israel. All these bow down to Joseph, representing the twelfth tribe.”
      2. The context will show the woman shown here is true, or ideal, Israel, the people of God who metaphorically gave birth to, that is produced Jesus, the Son. As Mounce remarks in his commentary on Revelation:
“…it is out of faithful Israel that the Messiah will come.” (Robert Mounce, The Book of Revelation: Revised, ed. Gordon Fee, The New International Commentary on the New Testament, [Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co., 1997], p. 232).
The fact is Israel, or the people of God, being depicted as pregnant mother who gives birth is a very common motif in the Old Testament literature, which John, the author of Revelation was so acquainted with. For example, Isaiah 51:4 says: “‘Sing, O barren one, who did not bear, break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who have not been in labor! For the children of the desolate one will be more than the children of her who is married,’ says the LORD.” (Isaiah 51:4).
“Before she was in labor she gave birth; before her pain came upon her she delivered a son… For as soon as Zion was in labor she brought forth her children.” (Isaiah 66:7-8).
“But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother.” (Galatians 4:26).
      3. In Revelation 12:5, the Son that is Jesus, is said to be caught up to God and his throne after his birth. This refers to Jesus’ resurrection and ascension. Then verse 6 says shortly after Jesus’ ascension, the woman fled into the wilderness where she is nourished for 1,260 days. There are 3 reasons why this can’t be Mary.
      A) Mary is never said to have fled to the wilderness for 1,260 days after Jesus’ ascension, being nourished.
      B) Fleeing to the wilderness being nourished and protected by God is common Old Testament language which is applied to Israel. Beale and McDonough note: “First, it refers to the time when Israel fled to Egypt into the wilderness and was protected by Yahweh (Exod. 16:32; Deut. 2:7; 8:3, 15-16; 29:5; 32:10; Josh. 24:7; Neh. 9:19, 21; Ps. 78:15, 19; 136:16; Hos. 13:5)… The woman’s flight into the wilderness also recalls the end-time exodus or restoration when Israel would return to faith to the Lord and again be protected and nourished by him in the wilderness (Isa. 32:15; 35:1; 40:3; 41:18; 43:19-20; 51:3; Jer. 31:2; Ezek. 34:25; Hos. 2:14).” (G.K. Beale and Sean M. McDonough, Revelation, eds. G.K. Beale, D.A. Carson, Commentary on the New Testament Use of the Old Testament, [Baker Academic, 2007], p. 1124).
      C) The woman, (that is Christians) will, according to Revelation 12:14, be given eagle’s wings to fly away from Satan into the wilderness for time, times and happy time , which refers to a 3 1/2 year period. Mary, after Jesus’ ascension, never ran from Satan into the wilderness with eagle’s wings for 3 1/2 years. The church, on the other hand, did. In A.D. 66, the Palestinian church fled to Pella during the outbreak of the Jewish war for 3 1/2 years. Moreover, in Exodus 19:4, God is said to take the people of God out of Egypt on eagle’s wings, the same thing which is said to happen to the woman in Revelation 12:14. The woman is clearly the people of God.
Further evidence the woman is not Mary is that, although the Son is explicitly identified as Christ in verse 10, and in verse 9 the dragon is explicitly identified as Satan, John never identifies the woman as Mary. One would expect him to if the woman was in fact the person of Mary and John was keen on naming the characters.
The point of Revelation 12 is that God’s people, ideal Israel anguished prior to the coming of the Messiah. They then give birth to him metaphorically. Satan is angry at this time and wants Jesus dead. Jesus is then ascended at the end of his ministry and after he does, Satan is cast down to earth to pursue the woman, ideal Israel, that is, mother church. The devil realizes his time is short before the return of Jesus so he launches a war against the woman; i.e., God’s people. God protects mother church for a time, times and half a time. The serpent attacks again but is unsuccessful and so make war with mother church’s offspring; i.e., individual Christians who obey Jesus. This has nothing whatsoever to do with Mary and even Catholic professor, Richard McBrien realizes: “Pious commentaries notwithstanding, the ‘woman’ here is not Mary.” (Richard P. McBrien, Catholicism: New Edition, [HarperOne, 1994], p. 1080).

I can give testimony that I’ve smelled roses once when praying the Rosary. I will continue to pray almost daily. Also, I visited the house of the Virgin Mary in Turkey just after being diagnosed with an hemorrhagic kidney cyst. After my return, I’ve had two CT scans and a sonogram, and the cyst disappeared. My urologist can’t believe it. It is true. The world is in trouble, we need to pray more.

As someone who has studied apparitions and so called Forteana for several years, I can tell you that, while demons, whether manifesting as such or as "aliens" or sometimes even as Holy Figures to try to trick believers, are almost always accompanied by the smell of sulphur, Divine Beings (usually Mary and the Saints, sometimes Angels too) are invariably associated with flowery fragrances.
Lavender is actually the one I heard the most being mentioned.
Another way of assessing if it's a holy figure is if it doesn't try to force strange beliefs, give vague answers or relay partially or entirely false prophecies.
There are other signs, of course, and they were frequently discussed by learned theologians for centuries, who were also concerned with the ability of demons to assume fake identities (such as St. Catherine being tempted by the Devil, disguised as Jesus).

I had a strange feeling while on a run once. I haven't told anybody about it. The entire neighborhood instantly got brighter even though the sun was behind a cloud. I turned off my music because I thought it might be a revelation of some kind. Of course, it was not a new revelation as this video explains but a reminder that God is with me. I heard a voice that told me to observe everything around me, and I witnessed God's creation of wildflowers and trees on the side of the road. I told God that if it was Him, I would end the run in 30 minutes or less. I ended exactly at 30 minutes flat. Of course, the revelation wouldn't mean anything to anybody else, but I think I understood the point that God was with me. I have not ceased to pray the Rosary every day since.

About 20 years ago when around 4 or 5 years old I'm 25 now I was lying down in bed it was really early in the morning and I was staring at a Jesus portrait my mom had hanging on the wall. When all of a sudden the Jesus portrait morphed into an image of Virgin Mary wearing an all white robe carrying baby Jesus Madonna. She was leaning on a wall inside of what looked like a very old temple with baby Jesus on her shoulder. I wasn't scared at all I actually felt a great sense of peace. My mom was asleep so I woke her up, so she could see it too. As soon as I tapped her shoulder to try to wake her up the portrait morphed back to the original Jesus portrait. I was at a loss for words and didn't even know how begin to explain to my mom what I had just seen. Until this day 20 years later I feel like she was trying to tell me something almost as if she was trying to give me a message.

Oddly enough it's not a difficult as one might imagine, basically it rests on common sense, moral reason, and the Catholic Faith. As with demonic activity, for it is also angelic in character, these things are to be dealt with calmly .. or with as much calm as can be attained. Indeed, it is a matter of intellectual insight not of emotional conviction, of clarity rather than enthusiasm .. I guess that is why those old processes, and their rigorous demands, are so unpopular today.

They are known as personal revelation and as such are not part of the deposit of faith that we are required to believe in. Ask any priest they will tell you this. If you are confused about these apparitions don’t be. You do not sin if you do not believe in them. But we do honor Mary as the mother of God and can be devoted to her.

My hometown, Buffalo, NY, USA has a small shrine dedicated to a supposed apparition called "Our Lady of Seneca Street." While the church, yet alone the diocese, doesn't officially recognize it, it's cool to drive by and see.

When I was in Japan and a parishioner at the Franciscan chapel center, we dis make pilgrimages to Akila where the blessed mother gave messages to a nun. I did meet the visionary. The film Hill of Redemption, talks about the approval process. Some friars from your province say that even if the church approves an apparition, caution is to be exercised.

I’ve sought out to see the Virgin Mary in 2017 going to church to pray an entire Rosary at her relief every 13th of the month at noon May-October even after Hurricane Irma damaged parts of the church except one day my widow neighbor ask me to take her to get food after the hurricane so I took her so I arrived late that day. I was hoping to get confirmation about the Trinity which I was struggling with even in reading Tertullian. I heard that saints Lucy Jacinta and Francisco were told to have devotion to the Trinity by St Mary. April of 2018 I began dating my non-Catholic girlfriend who out of the blue wanted to go to Portugal with me and I was overjoyed and told her I would like to go to Fatima. She just wanted to go to her timeshares so I wasn’t expecting much but she made arrangements to stay our first two days January 30 and 31, 2020, in Fatima. She made an AirBNB arrangement. So we get there the lady of the AirBNB was a Marto a kin of saints Jacinta and Francisco and tried to tell me in broken Spanish to visit the three holy places there to get an indulgence but I don’t understand much Spanish and she didn’t speak much Spanish and it was our only means of communicating other than obregado. I didn’t find out about the indulgence until much later. So I went to the Chapel of the Apparitions and prayed a full Rosary except I had to finish the Glorious Mysteries in the Sanctuary because I couldn’t concentrate since they started a public Rosary in Portuguese. I never saw Our Mother and I’m sure I never will this side of eternity but I did try which I never would have in my Mary busting statues days of being Baptist. I do feel she forgave me for all that and I believe she intercedes for me and the Church. I wish she would have told me how bad the sickness happening in China would be but my girlfriend knew and were the only ones traveling with surgical masks at the time. I don’t think I need to see Mother Mary while I have my girlfriend in my life. Maybe she will see Mary and convert.

Why do so many Catholic's act as if we can't find JESUS without Mary? The Scriptures, especially the NT, lead us to JESUS, just read them!

Hi, I want to share a story to which i had experienced during this year. One Sunday night, I was sleeping then I woke up to the sound of gregorian chant, but I wasn't familiar with it and it wasn't on my playlist, and during that time I thought I left my phone on. So I woke up but I couldn't move my entire body, I was in sleep paralysis, and then I rolled my eyes to my left, I saw a radiant lady in blue and white with a figure in pink floating above her, I wasn't too sure on who it was because I closed my eyes in fear immediately after seeing this. Then I opened my eyes and everything was gone and I could move again. I slept next to my mom after that, and I woke up the next day with a very painful neck. I only told my closest friends about this, and after giving it some thought, could it be the Blessed Virgin and my Guardian Angel praying for me? Because I have a deep love for the BVM and I pray daily to my Guardian Angel, could it be that they were praying for me at the time of death? considering the fact that my neck was painful the other day.

How do we know that science won't find an answer later on. For science is always discovering new things. Thank you for this, Father. When it comes to Marian apparitions, I hear different messages from two different extremes.
On the one hand, there is my father, who believes every Marian Apparition there is out there and on the other hand, there is a Protestant girl who I am interested in is who doesn't believe a single one of them.
The Protestant girl's argument is that nowhere in any of The Marian Apparitions does Mary mention one word about Jesus. She goes on to ask, "if Mary is so humble, then why does she say, 'In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.' If Mary was truly humble, wouldn't she say, 'In the end, God will triumph' or 'In the end, my son, Jesus, will triumph'?"
Then, my father tells me I need to believe every Marian Apparition there is out there, or else I am not really Catholic.
The Protestant girl I am interested also tells me that if we were to enter into a relationship, "someone needs to win, either Protestant Jesus or Catholic Mary."
I swear, dating would be so much easier if there were such a thing as Catholic women over 30 who were single.

It's amazing that the founding apostles hardly mentioned Mary in their letters to the church and yet according to Roman catholic tradition she is the most important person in the church after Jesus Christ himself.
    FACTS:
1-Did Mary wrote any letters to the church that are considered canon inspired holy scripture?, NO. 2-Did she performed any miracles in the name of Jesus Christ that are mentioned in the Bible?, NO. 3-Is the gospel inspired and build upon Mary?, NO.4-Is Mary the holy mother of Jesus Christ (Jehovah God The Son incarnated)?, YES. One must give credit where credit is due but one must NEVER depart from what is written in the Holy Scriptures by trying to add man made traditions and fables.

When you say that The Blessed Virgin would not predict a future disaster and yet Fatima and La Sallette do exactly that I get confused. She has...is doing...and will always warn Her Children when they stray. Especially evident in Fatima where She highlighted that the entire world was at risk including (especially) The Church. It is not right to call Her warnings nonsense. This is the Mother of God. Nothing She says can ever remotely be considered nonsense. That statement you have made...leaves me very sad because it treats Her messages in a most offhand manner. I hope you are able to edit that part of this video and remove it. Eg. In Kibeho She appeared as Our Lady of The Word and predicted a River of Blood. Later the Rwandan Genocide happened. That apparition is approved and there is a Shrine devoted to Her. And She revived the recitation of The Chaplet of Seven Sorrows. She can predict disasters to warn Her Children. She not only predicts the disasters but also calls Her Children to prayer and charity to avoid it. Just like in Fatima She predicted WW2 if people did not stop offending God. Please don't tell people She cannot do that. The Mary of Scripture shows us the Love of God. And this Love compels Her to leave Her Throne in Heaven and come to save us from our errors. Please edit the video.

Here's the lyrics for the Lady of Knock:
There were people of all ages
    Gathered 'round the gable wall
Poor and humble men and women,
    Little children that you called
We are gathered here before you
And our hearts are just the same
Filled with joy at such a vision
    As we praise your name
    Golden Rose, Queen of Ireland
All my cares and troubles cease
As I kneel with love before you
Lady of Knock, our Queen of Peace
    Though your message was unspoken
Still the truth in silence lies
As we gaze upon your vision,
And the truth I try to find
Here I stand with John the teacher,
And with Joseph at your side
And I see the Lamb of God
    On the Altar glorified
    Golden Rose, Queen of Ireland
All my cares and troubles cease
As we kneel with love before you
Lady of Knock, our Queen of Peace
    And the Lamb will conquer
And the woman clothed in the sun
Will shine Her light on everyone
    Yes,
    The Lamb will conquer
And the woman clothed in the sun
Will shine Her light on everyone

Question from a non Catholic. Why do Marian apparitions appear at all? Why isn’t all apparitions just of Jesus. Mary is mentioned more times in the Quran than in the Bible but somehow she’s the one being seen left, right and center. Why not send Gabriel to convey a message. The whole thing seems to have a “Too much Mary. Not enough Jesus” vibe to it.

Your interpretation of the essential message of Marian apparitions is somewhat reductive. On quite a few occasions, the Blessed Mother most certainly did warn of self-induced suffering as a result of sin and a refusal to convert - as at Fatima, perhaps the most authoritative of recent apparitions. Your summary of how the Church evaluates the potentially supernatural nature of apparitions is, nevertheless, good.

Not sure about any of this, but I am not catholic and did not grow up in a religious family… I had a clear apparition when I was 8-9 years old, standing at the end of my bed. The lights were on, and I was sitting up in my bed. She was about 5 feet away. She just glared at me for a bit and then closed her eyes. I was frozen in shock. I have always wondered about that moment and what it meant. I didnt even know other people had visions of her until I dated someone in high school that was catholic and his mother had a book about mary apparitions. Still have no idea what it all means, but I am almost 35 and it still pops up in my mind from time to time…. Who knows???

Some of them are officially recognized by the Roman Catholic Church. According ti encylical "Mistery Chorporis Christi" the Blessed Virgin Mary prayed God and interceded the descent of the Holy Spirit God on the Twelve Apostles in day of Pentecost.
Hence, she has a salvific role, making necessary her apparitions.

Father, I have just reviewed this video for a second time. I feel much the same as James Machau in his comment on this video. I would like to add one other apparition James didn’t add, and that is of St. Faustina and the Divine Mercy. With utmost respect Father, I urge you to do an updated video on our most Holy Mother.
You did a video during the pandemic recently (July 2020, I think), to answer some questions you often get asked. One of the questions was “do you pray the rosary daily?” and you replied “no, it really wasn’t your thing and that you had many prayers to say with the Liturgical Hours” - forgive me if I miss quoted you somewhat. However, I was really surprised at your answer. I am a lay RC and to be honest, I struggle to say the rosary. There may not be a lot said about Mary in the bible, again however, she plays a big role in our catholic faith. Respectfully again Father, it seems as if you have put the ‘blessed Holy Virgin, mother of God’ into a small box. Shalom Father, ✝️🙏🏻🇨🇦

    • @pappythehumble1138
      @pappythehumble1138 3 ปีที่แล้ว

The bible put your blessed Holy Virgin into a small box. Why do you think that is? What makes man so want to esteem that which God did not see fit to?
If Mary deserved a bigger box the bible would have been the best place for that.
But per your logic, God doesn't know what is needed and what is not needed so he put 'His most holy mother' into a small box at the time when someone in the crowd shouted, blessed is the woman who nurtured you and Jesus replied Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.
Instead of looking for bigger boxes for Mary why dont you seek to be more blessed than your so called most holy virgin by seeking out the words of the Lord and obeying.
If what Jesus is saying is true then the number of people who deserve bigger boxes than your most holy virgin are numerous indeed. Before you go, how big a box do you think Paul would need, ah well I think we should leave that to God to decide.
In short, stop honoring the creation more than the creator.

Our Lady of Akita is approved as 'worthy of belief' (though probably for local veneration as it wasn't on Father's list of the big six). Medjugorje is not approved as yet, if it ever will be. There's some theological problems with things that have supposedly happened there, but 'supposedly' may be the operative word, as the varying media reports from that site have created a circus-like impression (hard to know what is what when it comes to Medjugorje).

Personally, a great piece of advice to me was that when I find it most challenging to pray and read the Bible, that is when I need to pray and read the Bible most. Jesus said man cannot live on bread alone but every word from the mouth of God. We need the Bible daily and we need to remind ourselves of the gospel daily. We were sinners destined for eternal damnation that we deserve, but by the grace of God He gave us His one and only son so that those who trust and call on His name can inherit eternal life.

Are you loosing your faith because
      1. You feel no connection to God and dont know if He really exists ? Then build up your faith and relationship with God. Pray more, read scriptures and attend church online courses. Ask for the Spirit of God to fill you. Ask and you shall receive.
      2. If you Catholic faith is weakening because of Protestant attacks, then I would suggest listening to 1 Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to every man who ask you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
Find out the biblical support for the Catholic position in
      A. Catholic Answers
      B. Look up the explanations by Scott Hahn, Jeff Cavins, Tim Staples, Steve Ray etc. They are ex Protestants who became Catholics through the study of bible, the beliefs of the Early Church, the history of the Church and the history of the bible.
