It's amazing how sad, but how hopeful at same time this song sounds... all of that while seeping with pain, pain of thousands of years of lost world, lost friends, families, lives... Hydaelyn's face saying it all, as she puts us to a test, so that we may hope to save our world... something the Ascians couldn't do... Something both Elidibus/Zodiark and Venat/Hydaelyn couldn't achieve. Tens of thousands of years after their world was destroyed, leading to this one day, as time runs out, as the world burns, the fate that befall ascians, awaiting us... Hydaelyn having to witness it again. A test which we cannot fail.
Flawed? I wouldn't say that. Her logic was that in order for humanity to find a reason to live they would have to suffer and come to that conclusion on their own. It was the best decision she could have made. Because being a mind slave to Zodiark would have led to the same conclusion as the other failed worlds of Ultima Thule.

She hoped the main character could fix it but in all truth she believed we should escape. She had given up a bit and we had to convince her by showing our strength. She may have loved humanity as a whole but the WoL was her true hope. Her light in the dark. Without the WoL humanity would either have to run or would have died. The plan was indeed flawed and very very hopeful. Lucky for her the WoL is a walking deus ex machina

I just remember my reaction the first time this all happened. Countless times we've faced bosses and always been "imma kick your ass. You're going down" but this time all i remember saying was "I don't want to do this... I can't kill her"
Just sayin the OST is nice, but theres voice line from the boss that actually MAKES it for me. Where she actually expands: Hear.. the song of creations end. Feel.. the sorrow at hope's demise. Think.. and find your way in the darkness. Without this, the song is incomplete. because its that which brings meaning to the first words we hear.
I ran this shit so much, that I when I hear this part in the song - even with out the text, my instincts are ready to blast my 4:00 minute mark cooldowns.
This was kinda of the hardest fight in endwalker for me to do not because of its difficulty but because I just got done falling in love with her in the story and I really enjoyed the whole story arc with her ,emet-selch and hythlodaeus it was really cool to hangout with young emet and venat not going to lie.
This story is where i got my headcannon that Emet is the way he is because he was the introvert adoptee of the extrovert Hyth, Ven and Azem and his THREE best friends are now gone and he'll do anything to bring them back.

Still sometimes get emotional doing this fight. The first time especially when you had the option to do it with the NPCs, and they had scripted dialogue in the fight. Such a great story element brought into the fight that made it that much more special.

Such a simple name, but it literally adds more to the original song. "Answers" was posing questions. Constantly. It was ASKING for answers to why the suffering humanity had to be endured. And in the end, Hydaelyn answers it. Quite simply, without those struggles, humanity wouldn't be prepared. Nothing good would mean anything, and everything bad would be debilitatingly incomprehensible. Meanwhile, this is YOUR Answer. To Hydaelyn's question at the end now that you know everything. To the struggles of the world as a whole. And it reveals that the final chrous of the original song was and always has been your answer, since the very start or since before even that if you were there for the original launch. You never strayed from that answer no matter how many beasts, fiends and madmen tried to lie about it, to defy it, to try and find something else that made more sense than it. And this time, at the end of all creation, will be no different.

She'd always been Hydaelyn to me. That is, until I met Venat. However, in this fight, I couldn't help but seeing her as Azem of the convocation, in all their glory.
She is both Hydaelyn and Venat, Hydaelyn was the primal and Venat served as her heart/consciousness. The same is likely true of Zodiark who without Elidibus appears to have been left in a sleep/stale state until Fandaniel usurped the position of Zodiark's Heart.

The non-spoiler answer is: re-watch the cutscene in Elpis where she talks about her "traveler's charm" The spoiler answer is No, the "blessing of light" which was actually her magic that she calls "traveler's charm" that she gave the WOL is permanent I assume it's the same as the Kojin blessing that lets WOL breath underwater Even in distant worlds like the First or the distant past like in Elpis, both blessings were working normally The blessings are probably kept up by the WOL's own aether Those few times she shields us, she was actually using something else (probably similar magic as the one protecting the moon) Regardless, the blessing is still there, but WOL is actually back to being just "an adventurer" since WOL has finished his/her task as a WOL
The purpose of this fight is to prove we no longer need Her blessing. We still have the powers, they're just from our own will instead of being bestowed upon us.
@@lordlundar not exactly. There never was a “Blessing of Light”, just a spell calles a Traveler’s Ward that protected beings from aether corruption to a degree. She constantly intervened to keep us safe in the beginning, until we started not needing it anymore, and now we prove ourselves more powerful than her.

That’s like saying Zodiark is personally responsible for what happened to the thirteenth, or Leviathan for the sixth umbral calamity. These primals have a main element they represent and draw power from, but that doesn’t mean they hold absolute authority over all aether belonging to that element or aspected pole.

Best moment of EW for me. Ever since SHB I realized that hydaelyn was an obstacle that needed to be removed. For too long has Hydaelyn limited the WoL from doing what needs to be done. With this eternal primal gone Eorzea can finally start moving forward.

Surely no kind individual would spoil such a momentous moment for the awesome story that I’ve shed many tears over. Edit: to everyone saying “it’s not as spoilery as you think:” all you’re doing is spoiling that it’s not straightforward. Now you’ve got my mind racing about that fuckin bored guy with the weeb sword summoning and taking control of hydaelyn. Heavy, heavy shadowbringers 5.3 spoilers: It’s effectively the same as saying “The crystal exarch _doesnt REALLY die,”_ or showing someone going through the ARR patch content Y’shtola’s shadowbringer clothing. It would remove all significance from what happens because not only would they now know “something happens to cause stress,” they’d also know it resolves in a way that’s effectively nothing lost. Not only are the feelings of surprise gone, but so are fear, doubt and uncertainty. I appreciate that you’re genuinely trying to keep my disappointment down, but i figured I’d let you know for the future. I’m sure I’ll appreciate whatever twists, turns and tearjerkers come my way in Endwalker, but the least I can do for myself and others is try to change things. I still dont understand how she could even defeat Zodiark. The difference in size is massive. And Zodiark wasnt even at full power either.. Remember it's only after Zodiark dies that the Final Days start. There's other reasons you could probably think of. Elidibus as the heart of Zodiark was probably weaker than Venat as the heart of Hydaelyn since Elidibus was a baby according to Ancient standards. Zodiark probably uses most of his power diverting the Final Days. Etc etc

You can activate your W Cross Hotbars so you can see more than one set of hotbars at a time while playing on controller. They can also be moved separately so they dont overlap.
For me these hotbars are better since r1 tap is instinctual at this point and everything fits on 2 hotbars

"Answers" was posing questions. Constantly. It was ASKING for answers to why the suffering humanity had to be endured. And in the end, Hydaelyn answers it. Quite simply, without those struggles, humanity wouldn't be prepared. Nothing good would mean anything, and everything bad would be debilitatingly incomprehensible.
Meanwhile, this is YOUR Answer. To Hydaelyn's question at the end now that you know everything. To the struggles of the world as a whole. And it reveals that the final chrous of the original song was and always has been your answer, since the very start or since before even that if you were there for the original launch.
You never strayed from that answer no matter how many beasts, fiends and madmen tried to lie about it, to defy it, to try and find something else that made more sense than it. And this time, at the end of all creation, will be no different.

She'd always been Hydaelyn to me. That is, until I met Venat. However, in this fight, I couldn't help but seeing her as Azem of the convocation, in all their glory.
She is both Hydaelyn and Venat, Hydaelyn was the primal and Venat served as her heart/consciousness. The same is likely true of Zodiark who without Elidibus appears to have been left in a sleep/stale state until Fandaniel usurped the position of Zodiark's Heart.

They're the same BEING, but Hydaelyn is the guiding crystal whom lead us through our journey as the WoL and protected us, while Venat is the woman who, due to her love for the world, sundered it and suffered through immense pain to give the world a chance. They're the same BEING but not the same PERSON. To me that being is Venat, the mortal woman who suffered through so much due to her love for the world. To overs that being is Hydaelyn, the crystal guardian who guided and protected us. The same being, but not the same person.

No, the "blessing of light" which was actually her magic that she calls "traveler's charm" that she gave the WOL is permanent
I assume it's the same as the Kojin blessing that lets WOL breath underwater
Even in distant worlds like the First or the distant past like in Elpis, both blessings were working normally
The blessings are probably kept up by the WOL's own aether
Those few times she shields us, she was actually using something else (probably similar magic as the one protecting the moon)
Regardless, the blessing is still there, but WOL is actually back to being just "an adventurer" since WOL has finished his/her task as a WOL
The purpose of this fight is to prove we no longer need Her blessing. We still have the powers, they're just from our own will instead of being bestowed upon us.
@@lordlundar not exactly. There never was a “Blessing of Light”, just a spell calles a Traveler’s Ward that protected beings from aether corruption to a degree. She constantly intervened to keep us safe in the beginning, until we started not needing it anymore, and now we prove ourselves more powerful than her.

That’s like saying Zodiark is personally responsible for what happened to the thirteenth, or Leviathan for the sixth umbral calamity. These primals have a main element they represent and draw power from, but that doesn’t mean they hold absolute authority over all aether belonging to that element or aspected pole.

Edit: to everyone saying “it’s not as spoilery as you think:” all you’re doing is spoiling that it’s not straightforward. Now you’ve got my mind racing about that fuckin bored guy with the weeb sword summoning and taking control of hydaelyn. Heavy, heavy shadowbringers 5.3 spoilers:
It’s effectively the same as saying “The crystal exarch _doesnt REALLY die,”_ or showing someone going through the ARR patch content Y’shtola’s shadowbringer clothing. It would remove all significance from what happens because not only would they now know “something happens to cause stress,” they’d also know it resolves in a way that’s effectively nothing lost. Not only are the feelings of surprise gone, but so are fear, doubt and uncertainty.
I appreciate that you’re genuinely trying to keep my disappointment down, but i figured I’d let you know for the future. I’m sure I’ll appreciate whatever twists, turns and tearjerkers come my way in Endwalker, but the least I can do for myself and others is try to change things.

I still dont understand how she could even defeat Zodiark. The difference in size is massive. And Zodiark wasnt even at full power either..

Zodiark is the most powerful primal. Zodiark has much more aether. Zodiark has many more sacrifices. Zodiark is the one preventing the biggest calamity. Why was Hydaelyn created? Cause they feared Zodiarks might. Thats how insane his power is. So wich comes to the conclusion of me saying..., how the hell did this ONE, I repeat ONE tiny fledgling take victory on Zodiark without plot armor. Realistically speaking. I know plot armor is normal here, but they could have atleast made Hydaelyn look atleast somewhat believable in comparison to Zodiark. Especially when she is the one taking victory upon such a foe..

Zodiark wasn't made to fight, he was made to preserve the star while Hydaelyn was made with the sole purpose of sundering the world. An act that doesn't even conflict with Zodiark's goal. Remember it's only after Zodiark dies that the Final Days start.
There's other reasons you could probably think of. Elidibus as the heart of Zodiark was probably weaker than Venat as the heart of Hydaelyn since Elidibus was a baby according to Ancient standards. Zodiark probably uses most of his power diverting the Final Days. Etc etc

Why the fuck did they play answers for Hydaelyn? That's the theme for the Bahamut arc. Why didn't they use the song they made for Venat in Elpis? Endwalker was a massive disappointment in almost every regard.
