my fave part about the trust version of this trial is the fact that y'shtola is the only one out of the entire party who stands exactly where the safe spots are.
I noticed that most of them except maybe estinien fails to dodge her first attacks .. but than they learn it with the next ones .. even alisaie says "oh so its like this" when they succeed at dodging her next ones
A recent dev interview stated that the Trusts have a lot of quirks built into them on purpose. Estinien greeds a lot early in the fight but becomes more cautious later. After Hydaelyn mentions following the Aether, Yshtola will not fail to position properly for the remainder of the encounter. I'm sure Alisaie's tendency to rush LBs is also intended. You get amusing easter eggs bringing the Scions to the 1st boss in Ktisis Hyperborea (by levelling up your Trusts) with how they each respond to the first boss hiding. As you might expect, some Scions are smarter and patient, others are impatient and brute forcey.
@@jaeusa160 The fact that they had interactions with that boss probably meant it was intended for a different dungeon at first, but it's still funny to watch Alisaie spam 5 Contre Sixtes
@@jaeusa160 I just finished EW (absolutely loved it and cried the whole time), but I noticed this with her fight. Like I thought it was so cool listening to the Scions talk to each other like a real team working through the battle. It really emphasized that hey these guys been fighting together for years now. Everyone ate the first attack, but then I noticed the second time Estinien ran back, and shouted "Alphinaud, get back!" and he responded and ran away from the attack. Like Estinien was looking out for his best bud. It was very cool seeing all these interactions through the fight.
I love how the Scions not only know how to resolve the mechanics (even if they occasionally make a mistake here and there, just like us), but they also do callouts in chat.
My most favorite fight. My heart when half way through the battle and she confirms my answer to her challenge. It was at that moment when I realized, this is the last time I will ever see her. Throughout the fight after that was a tear jerking exercise in remembering my combos. I also played it with NPC party. Since it just felt right. May your rest be peaceful and know your mission is good hands, Venat.
Gosh, I feel like crying again just remembering how I felt. I had the same realization as you, and seeing her cry in that cutscene just destroyed me. I've been playing FFXIV since 2015, I was 15 years old at the time, now I'm 25; I grew up playing this game, watching as the ascian's arc slowly unfolded as the years went by. I know all good stories (or arcs, in this case) come to an end, but it still saddens me to think about it; that it was the last time I saw some of them. It might be wishful thinking, but I do kind of wish we end up seeing them again in the next expansion somehow, even if briefly through a flashback of sorts.
Not really, he wasn't there for the Flood of Light, he came after. Sure he might be unnerved by it due to his own experience with light.. but it's not the same.
What hurt me the most was in her EX if you don't make the dps check and she enrages she tells you "flee ypu have been found wanting" and it hurt like i disappointed her
And I just realized now, listening to the intro of a theme called "Your answer" that it's a remix of the theme from "Answers" from the final cinematic of the original FF14 run... talk about full circle!
Yeah, just like a slow instrumental version of Answers is the theme we get with her in a number of scenes, and Answers itself plays during her sundering cutscene. They took the title and lyrics of the song and made it the plot. These are the Answers to Hermes' question.
Yes, but I love how the transition goes along with the phase transitions in the extreme version and you just don’t get that sync up the first time around
I remember when I realised we would have to fight and kill her… I was already emotional due to the whole story and I just bawled my eyes out through the entire fight. My team were with me in discord as I was playing the EW story with my best friends from the game and they were like, Healer, you okay there? And I was like yeah! Just gotta do my job 😢
You know, because of the whole reincarnation thing the world has going on, it’s totally possible that in following expansions we get to meet and mold reincarnated Hydaelyn.
As far as they've said, she's one of the few who's deader than dead. She literally spend the entirety of her aether on this last battle. Nothing short of how Athena reconstructed Elidibus's soul would bring her back.

Susano and Innocence welcome Hydaelyn to the "best boss voicelines in the expansion" club.

Everyone on the forums kept saying she was evil because she was a Primal, but I had faith the whole time.
Never listen to this awful community. They have zero idea what's really ever happening

She isn't evil but she brought about a great deal of death and suffering due to her gamble. Yoshi even said so himself

I can’t wait for them to make an ultimate using Hydaelyn as a boss

I had the same issue with Thancred refusing to stack, but that's why Yoshi-P gave us invulns.
@1:38 There is def some FF8 vibes from that part of the song! reminds me of the intro music from FF8.
Best fight
I love this fight. And if i'm not mistaken you could solo the tank stack with a lv 90 war. It worked even on extreme.
Oh hey cool, this video is listed again :D
