    Thank you for this Stephanie. My husband loves a loss and cacti. I think I will try to make some as a garden, very small, for part of a gift. Blessings

    Thank you so much for making this and all your other videos! I used this tutorial to make a cactus pot for a friend of mine for his birthday and it was a huge hit. I actually used acrylic paint to give a little bit of texture to the spikes that were painted on, and that worked out really well too :) I really love your style and your message and I look forward to so many more cool videos and sculptures from you! Keep being awesome

      this one is called "desertification", although technically it is linked to deforestation.

    Thank you so much for this! I watch all your videos, though I almost never comment. But now I wanted to thank you because watching this video gave me the idea to sculpt some cacti to make a fake terrarium for a friend that likes plants, but can't take care of them, so they all die.

    Beautiful miniature replicas. the arioles are closer together towards the growing point, and a lot of fuzz near the top would make them just perfect.
    I would love to learn how you achieve those.

      oh yes indeed! I was quite surprised when I first learned about cochenille :D
      that is correct of course, but I meant that even healthy cacti have a sort of matte appearance that is bordering on white.

    Actually I have a request. Do you think you could make Himalayan blackberries? Not just the berries, but the thorn bush/vines as well.
    It's an invasive species and it grows all over the place where I live. I haven't seen it be made with polymer clay yet. I mean, I've been trying to sculpt it myself, but I would like to see you try it too. Besides, you're more experienced at making plants than me...
    Well in the end it's all up to you. Hope you have a good day :D

    • @stephanie.kilgast
      @stephanie.kilgast  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Working on invasive species is indeed something I might do more. However those blackberries look so much like 'normal' blackberries that I'm not sure you'd be able to tell them apart if I'd sculpt them.

    • @otterbecrafty1819
      @otterbecrafty1819 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hilda Chm well that is you opinion. I for one think they are beautiful! also no form of art it a waste as long as the artist enjoyed making it. art doesn't need to have a purpose which is what makes it incredible.

    • @stephanie.kilgast
      @stephanie.kilgast  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      actually, they are useful, as (if you had listen to the video) they are part of an artwork about desertification, which is a very important issue in the world right now. As for the "beautiful", that is up to the viewer, but of no real importance. Beauty is in the eye of the observer.
      Your comment however is without a doubt a waste of time and space, as it's not constructive nor nice.
