I really like this game. It’s quite charming in a way I can’t explain. Some parts may be a bit creepy but I find it’s like that with a lot of kids games, especially the really old ones like this. Also pon’s little sneeze every time he gets hurt is aaaaaaaa
I wish this game was a part of my childhood, though judging by how scaredy-cat I was in a past(I could be scared of literally everything), I would've been scared of the game for good
This line got a chuckle out of me: "Pon made the mistake of underestimating the potency of the sansho pepper. It seems he got a free ride out of it though 🤔"
Underage Existential Crisises A-M A-Against As we see from the Japanese version of this kotowaza, you are likely to hit the mark if you try often enough-even if you are a hopeless marksman like Pon. So, do you practice hard and become good enough to hit what you aim at, when you aim at it; or do you leave everything to chance, and hope that you are lucky enough and have enough chances? And when it comes to flinging mud, you can be sure that some of it will stick even to the most unlikely (and often undeserving) surfaces. B-Blue The sun is out, the sky is blue, it's beautiful, and ZAP... out of nowhere, a bolt of lightning-you are caught completely off your guard. Yes, anyone can be hit at any tume, anywhere by the totally unexpected. Look at Pon, he thought he had it made: he would just kick back in the bright sunshine, without a care in the world, and leisurely munch on his favourite snack. But, as you and I know, he got a lot more than he bargained for. C-Caught Anyone caught in this situation is in a fix, indeed: every option is as bad or worse than the problem itself, and you are just stuck there without any way out. Take Mr. Okhotsk on his popular televison cooking show. He went to cut the lobster with a flourish of prized knives, but only succeeded in getting them stuck in the chopping board. He wasn't able to push them to get at the lobster, or pull them out to try again. Ohkotsk the celebrated chef couldn't even raise his hands in defeat. As bad as it may be seen, it's in such situations that a person's true character is revealed. What would you do? D-Drops Even the biggest and grandest things in the world are made up of seemingly insignifigant elements-the oceans are made up of drops of water, and mountains are made up of particles of dust. Dilligently saving these small, overlooked constituents can eventually add up to something really big. Jumping Jack Bu's doo is a case in point. Piled up over 5, 10, 00 "sittings", it indeed makes a mountain. And from this mountain of initially unwanted waste sprouts a watermelon, a tasty and nutritious fruit. While perhaps not as spectacular, or fragrant, as Bu's doo, the same applies to many other things in life-from study to sport. A little bit of effort everyday over time adds up to real, major gains. E-Eyes Your eyes can tell another person as much, or even more, about what you really feel and think than your mouth. Often, you don't even have to say anything, because your eyes are the windows to your soul; and all anyone has to do is to take a good look inside. Haven't you ever seen someone whose mouth says "No problem at all." but whose mouth say the very opposite! Or have you ever tried to stop the tears from flowing when you are sad or lonely? And the best thing about it is that the eyes speak the same language everywhere. Can you figure out what George is saying? F-Fire Just when you think you've escaped disaster, you find yourself in the middle of uet another fix-maybe an even worse one. Of course, no one likes problems; but when they come, don't they always seem to come in bunches? And when you're caught up in them, doesn't in seem like they'll never end! Look at Pon, just when he thinks he's finally gotten through the worst of Cho's tricks and escaped to the safety of his home... But Pon never gives up, because he knows that if he can understand the hardships, he can overcome them-and after pain there is pleasure, and after sorrow there is happiness. G-Go Ill-gotten gains are quickly lost. Pon stumbled upon what he thought was some "easy money". Even though it wasn't really his and therefore should have been turned over to the authorities, all he could think about was what he should spend it on. But the coin turned out ti be just another of Cho's tricks. And what did Pon end up gaining? Anything that you don't actually earn by yourself and that comes too quickly or easily is almost always squandered away just as quickly and easily. H-Heart People who are very close to each other, or are part of a tight-knit group can often communicate heart-to-heart without having to use words. This is sometimes called nonverbal communication. Look at the way a mother and a baby relate to eachother: the mother always seems to know what the baby wants, even though it still hasn't learned how to talk. The same applies to Banaten and George. Each knows what the other is thinking, without having to utter a word. Do you have someone with whom you can communicate at this level? Give it a try. I-Invention We tend to come up with new ideas and inventions when we are most in need of them. Banaten, well-known for his love of bananas, ran out of the deep-fried delicacies-his absolute favourite. Faced with the unthinkable prospect of having to go without, Banaten quickly put himself to the task... and came up in a flash with a new machine to automatically produce his favourite food dish. When there is a need, we usuallly find a way. Just think of how inventive you become when you want to go out and play, but your mother makes you stay at home and study. J-Jack We need to keep a balance in our lives between work and play. As too much play, of course, is not good for us, too much work or study can be just as bad. Las Vegas Akiko works hard and plays hard. From nine to five she is a serious, hard-working typist; but after five she does her thing. The right amount of play not only adds spice to your life, but also broadens you horizons and makes you a more well-rounded human being. K-Kettle We are often unable to see our own surroundings, and accuse those around us of being at fault. The pot, unable to see its own bottom, criticizes the kettle for being scorched underneath. Have you ever done the same? The Del Montas are all exactlly alike-like peas in a pod, in fact. Unable to recognize this, they try so hard to undercut each other to elevate their own positions. They finally end up in the exact same situation, don't they? L-Little Haven't you found that the smallest chili peppers are usually the hottest? Well, the same applies to Japanese "sansho" pepper-and many times, to people and things around us. This is why we must avoid judging a book by its cover, remembering that, indeed, good things also come in small packages. Pon made the mistake of underestimating the potency of the tiny, apparently innocuosm sansho pepper. It seems he got a free ride out of it, though. M-Makes We should not forget the importance of practical experience and practice. Of course theory and learning are vital, but it is just as importnat for you to learn by doing and to gain mastery through repitition. Take bicycle riding, for example. Have you ever seen anyone who was able to ride just by learning the theory behind it? And what good is just knowing how to ride! You have to be able actually to ride a bicycle for it to be use to anyone. What did it take for you to master this skill? In the same way, Jumping Jack Bu gets better and better at his job as he goes along, doesn't he?

is it just me or is jumping jack buu's diary real interesting? we learn lots about him. Its implied he grew up poor,at least i see it like so, since he mentions being poor and never mentions any other education other than karate clases which couldve well been taught by someone his family knew and he writes pretty badly even tho he knows many languages, perhaps growing in a poor mixed family. he also mentions... selling his own body? its kinda off putting, im not sure if it actually means prostitution or what idk maybe im just looking too far into this

Why I recognize the sound @ 36:27 . The sound for the hammer is the tape loading mechanism for a VCR pitched down. More specifically the loading mechanism for Sony's line up of Betamax VCRs from the mid-late 80s.

is it just me or is jumping jack buu's diary real interesting? we learn lots about him. Its implied he grew up poor,at least i see it like so, since he mentions being poor and never mentions any other education other than karate clases which couldve well been taught by someone his family knew and he writes pretty badly even tho he knows many languages, perhaps growing in a poor mixed family.
he also mentions... selling his own body? its kinda off putting, im not sure if it actually means prostitution or what
idk maybe im just looking too far into this
Did you ever watch MamaMax's video on this game or Vinesauce Vinny's reaction to this game on one of his streams? (The full stream is archived and on TH-cam; its Edutainment Games #3.)
