Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco, and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch.
Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army Officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows.
Based on the Monsterverse from Legendary, and starring Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski, this dramatic saga - spanning three generations - reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.

It's impossible to hate Kurt Russell - the man is naturally cool. And Wyatt plays his dad's younger self so well.
totally. I like the stage presence of both. They can really deliver - if they were given good lines. Monarch so far, did a "meh" job on the writing point. Specially 3,4,5,6 were underwelming. They served the drama but didn't catch it. Let's see if the final episodes will redeem this slow pace, bad writing....

Wyatt and Kurt are the best characters in the show, alongside Keiko and Bill. Might as well be called Legacy of Russells lol
On thing I really loved is how they have both father and son play one character without wasting CGI to make them younger.
0:27 this scene, when they put their face lined up to each other, is so well-matched! Even the curvature on their lips is matched! The genetic here resembles well!

This is incredible, I'm not a big Godzilla fan but love Kurt Russell and will watch whatever movie he makes. He can't do anything wrong. The father-son story line was the best! I hope they are bringing this back for as many seasons as possible. LOVE it and HIGHLY recommend it!

it is. the atomic breath slices through the lower jaw and blows through the upper jaw of the ion dragon unless that's just a cgi error.

@@MaceDeMarco2010 Simple and easy. It’s a cool shot, and cool shots make for great marketing techniques. That’s also why Burning/Thermonuclear Godzilla got spoiled before KotM came out.

Brilliant idea having actual father and son play the same character. And this interview is just so sweet and wholesome. Hope to see the Russell's paired up in more projects

Ngl, i do think that the show is amazing, and part of me tells me that people complain because of less monster action and more human drama, like look at Minus One, Godzilla has screentime less than the humans yet is still a masterpiece, now i do notice that there are some flaws of the writing, but by the time of Episode 8, not only are we getting more flashbacks of 50s, the present day characters are starting to get improved a little, especially with Cate and Tim (excluding Lee because he was always good from the start) as Cate now no longer complains about her dad (now don't get me wrong, there are some cases where people complain about parents) and she starts to understand Lee Shaw and even sympathizes with him, because they lost their lived ones, like how Cate lost her students due to Godzilla's accidental destruction and how Lee lost Keiko to Endoswarmers, and Tim seems to be likable and kind of funny.
I'm excited to see the next 2 episodes, and i gope Keiko is still alive.
They have the same laugh... I love it.

My husband and I watched the first 2 episodes without knowing any of the cast aside from Kurt Russel - he needs no introduction :)) We kept talking about how they found the literal PERFECT actor to play his younger self - like, nailed it!
Then I was reading about the show and realized they were actually father & son! It was pretty funny & great but really kinda showed me how some fallen apples stay so close to their trees. Great duo, we really enjoyed the show!

Well at 0:38 might be the scene where the fight ends after one blow for the atomic breath
Not really since Godzilla atomic breath is still weak, but it probably did a lot of damage to the Ion Dragon wouldn't make sense for apple to show us the death before we even see the fight

@Mr.Margwito you can see the Ion Dragon literally getting vaporized. Not only that but this is Godzilla after his fight with MUTO Prime, he's stronger than he was in Godzilla (2014)

Whyatt Russell is a person i can really see on the big cinema. He got his own Charisma like his Father and you can feel his stage presence. I would wish for some better writing, specially in the drama scenes where most of the actual dialogs fall pretty short.
Awesome show,Such a vital part for future spin offs and movies,The flashback story is awesome with Billy and all,Some of the cgi is awesome too,Hope too see more of the older era with the Russell’s a lot more,Really would end this season perfectly.

@@banana440 why do people hate ep 5? it was alright imo. it had alot of godzilla scenes. ep 7 on the other hand was a chaotic and very underwhelming episode. I didnt even understand the point of the episode ( which was to show that AET turned into apex cybernetics which later created mechagodzilla ) until i researched about the episode on the internet.

I like the show! But man, I wish it more focused on Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell instead of The Randas and May who just aren’t interesting characters.
Kurt is awesome in the show and I got giddy when he said “Stop him? I’m trying to help him.” Hearing my beloved childhood actor saying he wants to help Godzilla my beloved childhood character made me feel happy.
I love the 50’s segments too! Keiko is possibly my favorite character!
I’m fine with a human character driven show with monsters, but the human characters they focus on the most are not likable and are flat.
This show needed to be episodic with a monster of the week feel like X-Files. The daddy issues story dragged.
I enjoy this show still and I can’t wait for the final two episodes!

Um i complete disagree,The flashbacks are one of the best written lore out of any series and some of the scenes modern day are really really good,Just because a minority of certain people and sequences makes some of the parts dull doesn’t make the show dull because it definitely isn’t.My fav series this year.
