I still remember at the age of 7 how exciting and sentimental Christmas Eve in 1968 was... Watching the live TV broadcast of Apollo 8 orbiting the moon for the first time and waiting for Santa to arrive. That was the last year I believed in Santa.
Remember Christmas 1968 well. It has truly been a horrible year but that epic Christmas Apollo 8 flight was such an incredible accomplishment and gave us all renewed hope going into the New Year.
I don't even want to think about the squeals squawks & miss notes that came from the "music show"but from the looks on everybody's faces they thought it was good cool. !!😊😊👍👍
I don’t know you folks from Adam, but the similarities between your home and mine in 1968 are uncanny. That’s when being American meant something, and we all just knew what it meant.
In 1968 we were mired in a war that the US had no business getting into. Sound familiar? It should because now we're mired in another war, trying to save a country that is of no vital interest to the USA. The good old USA - can't seem to turn in its badge as the world's policeman. And paying a high price to maintain that status.
I love reminiscing, I don't know you people, but, memories are a strange thing. They can be triggered by similar family engagements. Odd. I have watched a few of your videos and I gotta say, this one looks neither like Christmas nor 1968 (according to the Christmas morning 1963 video). Thanks for sharing, though. It's kinda cool how someone else's memories bring back your own.
Society may have had its problems, but man I miss people who believed in God and were just nice. I miss this spirit. America had made it through the Great Depression and WWII and just wanted a little slice of Heaven in the suburbs, Great video - not my family, but I almost cried watching it, because it could have been my family!
Definitely not 1968. There is a calendar in one of the scenes that shows that December 1 is on Thursday; in the 1960s, the years where that applied are 1960 and 1966.
Love it! Is there a stabilizer program being used? It makes it so much better to watch. There’s a bird flying around your house. All you need to be happy is a silly hat, a smoke, a brewsky, the hi-fi, a dog, and a big table to gather all the generations around.
You folks had quite the Warm Spell there on Christmas Day 1968! Everyone was in the spirit - even the parakeet got a reprieve from his cell! Were the kids playing Christmas Carols during their recital, or other music as well?
Ah more clothes from the ugly clothes department of SEARS yes(hay I didn't.have Sears I had.spiegles some had wards I got no room to talk I had ugly clothes too nobody knew but... They were durable play all day wash iron wear to school Yelp!!😊😊👍👍👍
