I'm not too sure about that, but if nothing else the Aionios merge would doubtlessly have provided extensive data on matter merging and annihilation to Origin that the two worlds could study and utilize in efforts to create a safe and controlled planetary merger in the future.
My theory is that it is also partially the result of both the wishes of the people of both sides to reunite and from the extensive development of the ourobourus power

origin did not create both worlds, klaus did at the end of the 21st century during the orbital particle accelerator event, creating a world of anti matter, in which xenoblade 1 takes place. Origin was a machine built by both worlds to resolve the differences when their orbits intersected. the process stalled and instead froze time, as the uncertainty principle of the origin device working caused doubt in the operation. the thousands of years of xc3 are relativistically simulated by origin. mere seconds pass in real time that we see post credits. the re entry shuttle is probably the trinity processor, shulk, and rex. the origin device was successful in not only preventing annihilation, but also resolving the polarity differences between the two matter states of both worlds.
At the beginning of Xenoblade 3, when they show that scene of the clock, you can see the other planet in the sky. In this final scene, the second planet does not appear, which proves that in that scene they are already fused
FFXIV is also known for vei g pretty detailed in their MSQ and sidestories . But XC series does pay close attention and sometimes doesn't directly spell it out for the viewers.

Back when I first finished XC3, I believed that slowly everyone would regain their memories of their lives in Aionios (we already know that people could remember things from previous lives in Aionios, like Cammuravi and Ashera), and that the worlds would wind up fusing together and forming one world sometime relatively soon. Now the ending of Future Redeemed makes me wonder if the worlds actually fused together almost immediately after separating again...
I had the same thought cause when Melia and Nia were talking about the worlds eventually wanting to come back together, they made it sound like it was gonna happen later rather than sooner. It also made think about where geographically Bionis and Alrest would be in the newly fused world, did two separate continents just appear on Earth?
It seperate at the end of XC3 and fused again but this time without the intervene of Origin so that a world without of any control, a true world or an original world before Klaus seperate them.

It didn't merged right after the ending, in the last save screen Mio Talks about Noah and mentioned that she doesn't even clearly remember how he looked like.
The implication that they’ll find each other and fall in love as they did countless times before helps end the heartache that their splitting apart caused me. And I think it is a stronger ending leaving it here… but I’d cry with joy if we ever see them reunited again

It’s not the conduit since it doesn’t look/move like that, and it’s not Elma since X isn’t canon to the overall series Meanwhile, Saga and Blade are confirmed to be the same chronology, meaning it’s meant to at least appear to be KOS-MOS. We'll probably never see a follow-up in this merged world, but THIS is what i hope happened. At first, it felt like "Both worlds are deleted, here's a completely fresh one with none of the original characters" to me. But this here makes a lot of sense

One thing that still puzzles me about the ending is if the things that happened in Aionios "stay happened", most importantly the people that were birthed outside the "system" like Ghondor and Matthew. I cannot stop thinking that we erased a lot of people out of existence by undoing what Origin did.
Oh we definitely "deleted" countless people. But it was insinuated during the final cut-scene of the base game that they'll find their way back in the new world(s). I don't know how that'll work but I guess we'll find out in Xenoblade Chronicles 4 🤷🏻♂️

Okay, basically the two earths were originally one earth but split because of the mad scientist dude in the space elevator, right? Well now the two earths are becoming one again by the power of love and friendship, basically. And the meteor is not a meteor, it's a robot girl from the predecessor series called Xenosaga. I don't understand the details myself, but basically she's traveled a SUPER long way to get back to Earth; and this is a setup for either Xenosaga 4 or Xenoblade 4, or setup for a whole new series.
idk why they fuse at the end and just because the 2 scenes match up doesn't mean they are happening at the same time. The blue light heading towards the new Earth is also a mystery but is kinda implied to be kosmos from xenosaga but that still might is yet to be hard confirmed

The whole plot of the game was how the worlds of 1 and 2 were split apart by Klaus, but wanted to be fused again. Two worlds colliding isn’t a good thing though so Origin was meant to store the souls of both planets and “reboot” the world when the collision happened
But this still doesn’t explain what happened to Noah there. Why did he disappear, and where to? Also, after everything we’ve been through across these three games, it honestly is disappointing that we don’t get to SEE that everything is happy and good for our characters. Sure the worlds are peacefully combined now, but after all their pain and hardships we don’t actually get to SEE Shulk reunited with his family and friends, Rex reunited with his family and friends, or Noah and Mio reunited. 🙁
The whole point of the ending was to go for it, even if you can’t tell whether it’s going to be okay or not. FR’s ending shows that it did turn out okay without hammering it in. It’s much more beautiful like this I feel

That’s not “hammering it in.” We don’t know for sure Shulk and Rex were reunited with their families, for all we know they’re stuck as part of Origin, and we don’t even know what really happened to Noah. He just disappeared off the screen at the end.

That’s what I hate about endings that don’t SHOW how the characters are, not have to imagine it. But my main point is that after three games of playing through the stories and caring about these characters, we should get to SEE them live happily ever after. After seeing their hard-earned futures put in jeopardy by the events of 3 we should get to see that they got their futures back. And as I already said, we have no idea what happened to Noah. If the worlds are safely combined and he meets Mio again and lives happily with her, why did he disappear? What about his friends? They’ll be forever wondering what happened to him. Not happy at all.

As a big proponent of Twin Flame journey, the whole merging, canceling, running, preparing for the eventual reunion is just, beautiful 🥲 I've played Xeno since gears but Xenoblade 3 really came in my lowest time as I was deep in depression because of a runner - chaser phase with no contact situation. The ending of future redeemed was like, damn! Maybe not in my reality but somehow, somewhere, there's a world where we are together and it really settled me and gave me a push to move on with my life.
