I've been wearing 2 USSR made watches I bought around 1989 recently.these were sold in the UK branded as sekonda but are actually poljot watches, one is hand wound the other automatic, both 25 jewels.both still work perfectly and are over 30 years old now so i would say USSR made watches were decent quality.
This is another daily grind watch that I’ve seen in so many cool looks, that red looks really nice. “Meranom Watches” carries a ton of cool Vostok’s and at bargain. Theirs really only a couple red dialed watches I’d grab and this is one for sure . Thanks for the review & your work RR. Your take on timepieces and the great looks is the go to spot!
This komindeerskee is made just like an amphibia. Real komindeerskee are hand wind only and 30 meters wr. This red one is made with a Vostok amphibia case and movement so it's automatic. There's a few more colors called komindeerskee but they are basically the same as amphibias.
True but the it seems the question came for better wr komindeerskee’s because the amphora dails got boring and people wanted more choice. For me they should do a better lume and I would be happy to pay 20$ more. And yes I love these things
Open the watch up and you will find a gasket about 20 times thicker than a normal watch since only the lockdown ring only turns when taking the case back off and on, not the actual case back which on a regular watch stretches and tears the gasket while doing so. This watch has a true compressor case, also with the thick acrylic crystal, the deeper you go underwater, the pressure pushes the crystal and the case back into the case making it even more waterproof. The design of this watch was brilliant and they did it from the ground up, not wanting to "borrow and designs from Swiss Watches for patent battles. Service intervals for this watch is 10 years.

Very nice watch, I will ad a vostok to my collection soon. Right now I have an islander on my radar, as well as an orient Kamasu. Then I think will get a vostok.
That's a great looking Vostok, I agree it doesn't need modding at all, I've got the bug for them now my self, I got one of the scuba dude ones with the sea blue face and I put a Pepsi bezel on it, it looks great. They're so easy to regulate as well, mines running 5+ seconds a day. I can see me getting one of these.
I have this exact watch. I saw it on someone else's watch channel and had to order it. It took a while to get it from Russia. I put a knurled bezel on it along with a red insert to match. I do have an aftermarket bracelet on it but I like that one in your video. I guess I'm hunting for a good moderately priced mesh bracelet now.
Just ordered mine from ebay! I wonder how rare these red ones become in a couple of years.. That steel tone mesh strap is like designed for the watch. Very cool combo. Thank you!
Have 2 Kommanderskies and the Red Sea, the Amphibia and the Amphibian. The Red Sea is beautiful but very heavy, but the Amphibian is by far my favourite Vostok and the variety in Amphibia especially scuba dude ones as a bug draw.
Great tip on the date setting from 9 to 12!... I just bought a vintage Komandirskie and spent a ton of time winding it through 25 days to set the date correctly, lol.
I have to admit, I disliked some of your vids in the past, because I had the opinion you were sort of biased, yet this review changed my mind completely. I even ordered the same strap for mine (ordered the same as you have about 3 weeks ago), that you have equipped the watch with in your video, because it is such a great combination. (Cancelled the order fo a different star mesh I wanted to order from Ali Express for this)
I like the 2416b movement more than the 2415 one. It seems like my cheaper kommandirskir is losing several seconds a day. I have an amphibia, and a beater kommandirskie. Any info on the clearance between the crystal and the dial? I'm thinking about nodding one to have a sterile or custom dial one day.
I just ordered this from Kazakhstan. I'm assuming it'll take some time to come to India. They've said it'll arrive early April. Today is 24th Jan. Along with it I ordered another black Kommanderskie and a Amphibia Scooba Dude.
I just gotone of the Special Edition ones... Amfibia that is. Its very cool but its very far from flawles. Mainly the lugs are veeery sharp... I'm afraid to put elastic strap on it... It might cut it 😆 Anyways these are cool just some QC issues I guess. Kinda acceptable g For the price (but then you remembere there Seikos for around 100 USD or less...)
@randomrob What kind of Spring Bars are you using? I have the same watch in yellow and same kind of H-Link mesh bracelet but the spring bars are not thick enough and looks weak!
Exactly. It's basically an amphibia with komindirski written on it and a ss crown. Actual komindirskis are much worse quality. Hand wind only, 30m of wr.
If a reputable company or a decent microbrand would make this exact watch (with a laughably horrible bracelet it comes with) and deliver it to customers in the same manner - several weeks or a couple of months... For example, can you imagine giving this a positive review if it had Seiko brand on it? Whatever.... spend your couch fold loose change on garbage, hoping to impress your friends with a "cold war trophy" )))) p.s. I was born and grew up in USSR 1968-1992. Did my required military service in the Soviet Army 1986-1988. Never seen any Vostoks while I was in the Army. Russians think of these watches as garbage. The exact way Russians look at ALL consumer products made in USSR - cars, TVs, vaccum cleaners, refrigerators, washing machines, clothes, shoes, etc. They were all garbage.
That is a «shark mesh» AND THE OTHERS AREN’T - the other ones you refer to aren’t - they are something else that was forced upon the market by deceit (Chinese deceit by criminal monopoly, it appears). A quick way to identify the «shark» mesh and separate it from the Chinese hamster very crappy stiff mesh is this: the REAL ‘shark mesh’ watch bracelet is COMPLETELY LOOSELY KNIT. LAY IT FLAT. AND IF IT LAYS DOWN FLAT, BENDS SHARPLY, CASE ALL THE WAY DOWN, then that is it. If anyone knows anyone who sells it, I want to know.
You didn't showed the original bracelet the watch came with??? Please atleast you should have shown us how it looks with it's original bracelet or strap.
You wouldn't even consider using the original bracelet. Hollow polished metal. I immediately removed them on each arrival of my amphibias which I have both modded with seiko skx bezels. But the watches itself are accurate and looks fantastic especially if you brush finish the case if they come polished.
I think Vostok watches are very decent watches; to begin with they have a clear identity However, at the same time, I think the company does not do "the extra mile", reason for which I would not recommend the purchase of their product, less in the current pandemic environment. Not from them - Meranom in Christopol, nor from any third party because you might find yourself in a more than likely bad situation, as a buyer and / or for under guarantee services. My point: Vostok should pay more attention to issues like shipment, lead time and follow up. In normal conditions or in "pandemic" conditions, they should not take an easy position about the quality of the perceived service when it comes to lead times, they should engage in a proactive task that reaches the Russian Post, etc., and avoid lost in transit products, which happened to me; their lack of engaging in a proactive resolving task is really unique. They basically have no answers, no actions.. nothing. It seems to be that a Lost in Transit item is just the most normal thing... "it is what it is..". They can blame the Russian Post service to any extend, but, no matter how Vostok pictures it, it is Vostok problem! It is a problem the company has to deal with and they do not show willingness, at least, I did not perceived it. Again, it is not Russian Post problem, it is Vostok's; issues like this create and contribute to a negative perception of the company, it reflects a "third world" image. Vostok, no matter how good your product is, you show no commitment to customers.

Use gravity to help you winding it, you don't need to pull the crown towards outside, just do it with the crown at six ó clock, much easier.
