Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included th-cam.com/users/postUgkxqtX4Dxs6aecAZEuz6GY5-d81YecKCshn and I had it set up in about 30 minutes. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.
Having grown up in the 60’s, this piece was right up my alley. And so was the smooth jazz. My childhood came flooding back through this video! Thank you!
LOL Mine as well but in a different way. My mother's prized possession was a round, teak dining table and chairs. It was very weird in that the chair backs made up part of the table skirt. Which was the space-saving she was looking for in our very small dining room. [part of the open plan, L-shaped living room] If I had a nickel for every hour I spent oiling that table! When Mom died, my sister asked me if I wanted it *NO!* It's all yours, have fun taking care of it.
Andy, you are the brightest spot in my week of binging furniture flipping videos! I adore your clever story-telling style. You have managed to create this wonderful little niche that sets you apart from the rest. Best of all, you don't cut corners or sacrifice content in the process. Your videos deliver everything your audience needs to know, from start to finish. JUST like a perfect story! 😃
Wow, Kate ~ what an incredibly wonderful thing to read!! I can't thank you enough for taking the time to write this comment. I'm truly grateful to hear it and hope to keep bringing more brightness to any future video binging! Many many thanks! ❤️
It takes a special person (or a furniture fairy) to see this MCM in such sad shape and BELIEVE it can be saved… and then actually save it. Another wonderful video.
You really are my kind of crazy , another fun video with a wonderful finish , as I said before sign your pieces . Look forward to seeing this channel grow and grow , you actually make me want to paint all my furniture lol , You are a refreshing change to other how to videos I have watched keep em coming 😊😊🤩
I'm seriously hooked on your channel. Just binged all your videos and am delighted. You do amazing, quality work and describe all the steps and decision making as you go along which is really a great way for us to glean from your experience. You are amazing! Keep sharing and we'll keep watching!
It’s bittersweet for me. I love that I found Andy from the beginning but disappointed that I don’t have more to binge. I could rewatch them? Hmm, maybe so. 💕
Great job on stippling that scratch! I’m going to experiment with painting the inside of the drawers, and making the dove tails stay stained! Great job! Messy Mendy 👍🙏🏻🖌
I grew up with teak furniture. My mom would roll over if I ever painted hers. BUT with all that chipping and peeling going on, you made it gorgeous again. I wasn't sure about the taping off but you were spot on. It still looks like that always stylish mid century modern. Very nice work.
Love it! Honestly, I think the piece is better painted than in its original state -- the paint really lets the teak show off and stand out. Great work!
Ι am great fun of Christina Muscari and Kacha, but i am glad you have a dynamic entrance with this channel. i love your narrative style.. beautiful job!!!
At first, I did not like the color choice. But after seeing the finished product, it was perfect with wood highlights. A real beauty. You did it, again!!
I just found your channel and I absolutely love the way you do story telling and your work is beautiful. Also I really appreciate that you go through your cost and pricing. I'm new to furniture flipping and although in a different part of the counrty and cost of goods is lower than California it helps me gage what I can ask for the pieces I am selling. Keep the videos coming.
Thanks so much for you comment, Melani! Yes - pricing is hugely impacted by area! And of course, this is such a cottage industry - so it's so difficult to find an "industry standard" for pricing. Best of luck with your flipping ~ feel free to share any updates! 😊
Could you actually be any more adorable? Your unique personality along with your detailed content had me at hello! Well, hello Andy, I'm Kay and hooked to your lovely ways! All the best.
I was about to kick a matched set chest of drawers to the curb when I found your channel. Lo and behold, not only did you have a video on flipping some drawers, it was the EXACT same drawers! The veneer is in better shape, but a few of the drawer slides need repairing. Instead of a makeover I'm now I'm inspired to restore them. Thanks for sharing what you do, I really enjoy your humor.
Another excellent and engrossing video. I love mid century modern. In the late 70s we bought HUD Danish teak bookshelves and we still have them. I did some damage to one of them by drilling a hole in the back for cords for our record player (pre CDs, pre MP3 players, the original stereo set up) which kills me now! But the sleek teak of these bookshelves is just so beautiful and classic. I really appreciated your preserving the teak trim both as a sign of respect for the design and the wood, and because it looks beautiful with the paint. Looking forward to your next video.
Wow, thanks so much for this, and sharing about your bookcases...and hey - altering them to accommodate a record player would've been right up their "form follows function" alley! 😊 Thank you so much for the support!
You're a better story lady than even I am, and I am Guudd!! I was so pleased to see how it resolved with that paint and waxing the teak. Thank you for the best sort of teaching. The fable lesson of the day is so welcome to my own journey
I really appreciate your videos and your makeovers. Like the fact that you keep it simple and don't embellish and/or stencil everything. Keep 'em coming!
That is beautiful wood. I have never seen teak before. Great makeover. Like you, I always add paper to the drawers and I always have such a hard time doing it.
Thank you! This gave me some ideas for a super cool MCM tall boy and chest that I started years ago and stalled…. This is great motivation to get back to it!
Wow Andy! I thought I had seen all your content but there were 4 or 5 videos I had not yet seen. And with each new video I watch, there is a new tip that I can use immediately! Inspecting my patient, I discovered the hardware may be copper and watching this video, I think the wood may be teak! I will be taking a drawer to Lowes to confirm. Many of the issues you faced in this “fable”, are present on my project. Although there is more going on than I originally thought, I remain enthusiastic and energized as I prepare to start. Online orders have been placed. In the meantime, I will continue to rewatch your fables, with pen and notebook in hand!
Wow, cool discovery! Yes, you are onto a key factor - every piece is different, and so great idea to get all the info you can on what you're dealing with. So glad if the fables are a source of help!!
I love that color. I'm about to go to a restore and find a vintage piece and redo it for my record player thanks for all of your inspiring work. I love it all.
What a beautiful piece you restored!!! And I really like your sander and looked it up... Holy-Moly, couldn't believe that it cost around $600.00!!!!!! Wish I could, but that will remain a wish and nothing more.
Thank you so much, Michelle! Gosh - that's a great question...I kind of stand around and look and look and look at a piece...😂...I also love to look at the color palettes for all the top chalk and mineral paint lines - their color designers are so fabulously on point!
Durham Rock Hard Water Putty found at Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace, Menards is an alternative to the bondo. It works fantastic and it does not smell bad at all and takes longer to dry. Sands very well.
Such dedication to the genre, with a modern twist of the exactly right colour. Excellent bogging, and goodness knows where you found that matching decade music! Your taping up is an exemplar extraordinaire! Nice work, well priced! RIght! Right!
The beige-mauve was an interesting choice. I might have gone for a gray, dark blue, or muted green....but there you go. I hope you sold this for big bucks!

Thank you, Kris - that is so nice to hear!!
I have only watched 2 of your videos and learned a lot. Thanx for sharing your knowledge.

Love your channel. Your sense of humor helps so much. FYI, my father-in-law was a master wood worker and he always waxed teak whenever he used it.
Thank you so much! And that's great to hear about the wax!

Wow, thank you so much Nancy!! Quite a compliment from another story lady. (love that 😊)
Looks great! I too have run into issues with black water stains. I used oxalic acid to remove the stain and it worked.
Thanks Ann, and great tip!!
Growing up in Scandinavia, I'm so tired of all older Scandinavian designs but wow, this was gorgeous!
Thank you so much, that means a lot coming from you!!

Love your videos!
Thank you so much! Yes, me too - it was definitely an investment, but so far I feel like it was well worth it!!
What a beautiful piece you restored!!! And I really like your sander and looked it up... Holy-Moly, couldn't believe that it cost around $600.00!!!!!! Wish I could, but that will remain a wish and nothing more.
Thank you very much! Yes - for sure an investment piece! But worth every penny if one does a lot of sanding. 😊
love your narrative and of coarse the final product is beautiful
Thank you, so nice to hear! 😊

Durham Rock Hard Water Putty found at Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace, Menards is an alternative to the bondo. It works fantastic and it does not smell bad at all and takes longer to dry. Sands very well.
Great tip!

Thank you so much, I'm so glad!
Dresser looks beautiful! I don't like MCM furniture but your makeover plus color choice transforms this piece! Looks even better.
Wow, thank you! 😊
The beige-mauve was an interesting choice. I might have gone for a gray, dark blue, or muted green....but there you go. I hope you sold this for big bucks!
Many thanks Virginia - yes, I think any of those colors would've been gorgeous. 😊
Just beautiful work! Always very entertaining!
Thank you so much!
Sincerely entertained. This was fun. Thank you.
Wonderful to hear, thanks so much!!
I don't know about furniture, but on a sailboat you use teak oil for the teak trim and it gives a very warm rich color.
Great tip, thank you!
