- I had the opportunity to interview Dr. Parke Wilde, a distinguished professor at Tufts , to explore the intricate relationship between inflation and its impact on food security. Dr. Wilde illuminated how food security is intricately linked to individuals' resources, particularly affecting those with low incomes who often fall outside the eligibility criteria for federal food assistance programs like SNAP. When asked about solutions for this group, Dr. Wilde cautioned against relying solely on suppressing food price inflation, citing historical precedents where such measures have proven ineffective. Instead, he advocated for bolstering wages, emphasizing the importance of improving the financial stability of the workforce to address food insecurity during times of inflation.
Furthermore, Dr. Wilde highlighted the disparity in price increases among different food categories, noting that while inflation appears to lift the prices of most foods equally, nutritious options like fruits and vegetables have experienced disproportionately higher price hikes over the decades. He emphasized the significance of wage policy in mitigating these disparities, suggesting that increasing wages could play a pivotal role in improving food security amidst rising inflation. The conversation concluded on a note of cautious optimism, with Dr. Wilde acknowledging the challenges posed by a deeply divided political landscape but expressing hope that collective action and cooperation could transcend ideological divides and pave the way for shared benefits across all segments of society.

What organizations are working diligently on eradicating poverty in the US? If China accomplished this most honorable goal… how is this not happening in the US? Or is it? Thank you
Inflation is far more harmful to individuals than a collapsing stock or property market because it directly affects people's cost of living, which they immediately feel.

It's hard to predict the future until we see this month’s inflation results. However, historical data consistently show that stocks tend to outperform bonds in the long term. Therefore, I'm staying in the market and focusing on selecting high-quality stocks. The challenge lies in identifying these stocks.
I use paper towels to cover my chopped and unwashed lettuce. I remove the lettuce core and wrap the lettuce lightly in paper towels then place in a crisper tupperware. I then simply wash what I use for each meal

“Food insecurity “ = “Can’t afford to eat and hungry”. Not everything needs a PC sounding name! Call it what it is!
You can't fool people with a low CPI. People see what they pay for on a daily basis and nothing is cheaper. The speed of inflation is accelerating.
Inflation is out of control, however I haven’t seen ONE person who looks physically hungry.
This video changed my perspective on this topic.
Unsustainable increasing demand for food that will inevitably lead to increased starvation in many parts of the world.
