That was supper fun today ! Thanks Mark for lunch and it was great to meet Jack ! Amazing how sometimes in life we are connected to one another in ways we never would have thought.
My Lupron shots have all been sub-q in my right butt cheek. 6 month shot, then 6 months, 3 months, and most recently a 3 month shot n September. No lumps. Only pain was overnight soreness on the last one, but not on any of the preceding ones. Fatigue in the first six months I attributed to the chemo (taxotere) I was getting. However, loss of muscle mass, loss of muscle strength, loss of overall stamina have become much more noticeable in the past four months. Keeping up the exercise and walking routines have become a struggle.
It is amazing how much loss of muscle mass there is. It really makes me miss my testosterone! How long are you scheduled to be on Lupron? Any surgery or radiation on the horizon?
@@surfcitylocal Nope, not a candidate for either. Late detection, stage 4 at diagnosis last year, with mets in a lot of lymph nodes, plus a couple of bone mets. Started Lupron and taxotere ASAP and responded well to them, but PSA just doubled from nadir (only took seven months, drat!), so the next layer of ADT (probably abiraterone) will likely be added to the schedule soon, possibly next month.
