Im watching this while drinking juice of half a lime, just eyeballed 2 shots of Riga Black Balsam and filled the rest of glass with ice and coca cola. You should try it. :D
My wife's favorite old fashioned recipe that I make for her often: 2-3 dashes of orange bitters, 2oz bourbon, 3/4oz simple syrup, 1/4oz fresh squeezed lemon juice, lemon peel for garnish (and expressing the zest). Adding just a little lemon juice totally makes it much lighter and easier to drink for those that don't traditionally enjoy whiskey.
@@inthebag84 That's why I said "That makes it MORE of a bourbon sour". You do you man, whatever you or your wife like to drink, but I wouldn't call anything with lemon juice an old fashioned.
that little splash of soda (I use sparkling mineral) seems to make the flavours pop for me. Not plain water but something with a little mineral flavor. Great EASY cocktails for sure!
Love it when you have all the ingredients in the fridge already and so simple to... Thanks for the inspiration I know what I'll be drinking today.. I'm going to smash a couple of Whisky Smash.. 🥃😆
My Old Fashioned recipe, I've made a lot of these: Built in the glass - 2oz Wild Turkey 101, 1/4oz demerara syrup 2:1, 3 dashes angostura bitters, 2 dashes reagans orange bitters, 1 dash scrappy's chocolate bitters, lemon peel expressed into the glass and stirred with the cocktail on a big cube
Almost identical to the one I made last night. It was my 1st Old Fashioned (that I've made myself). I love that everyone has their own little twist to make it their own. (and I hate when the Didacts attempt to school you on what "the" classic Old Fashioned is.) Cheers!
Thanks for the video. I'm really interested in non-alcoholic ones... It would be really nice to get a video from you from time to time about these :) Thank you
Hey man I love your TH-cam channel and have a request! I would like to see your version of a Bloody Mary and then a clarified version of it!! I think it would be a super fun experiment! Keep up the awesome work!
my favorite version of old fashion is to first pour the whisky in the whisky glass to about half full, then add a big ice ball, you may stir but its not the way i serve it.
Preferred old fashioned: 2 ounces high-rye bourbon, 1/3 ounce maple syrup (the “maplier” the better), 4 dashes angostura bitters, and a tiny wedge of orange. Stir until diluted, pour over a fresh large cube & garnish with an orange peel expressed over the drink.
I watched this during the workday and had to hold myself back from running to the kitchen to make all 3. They all look so good. Just made my first Old Fashioned last night (I have no idea why 🤣) and I'm loving all the comments on everyone's preferred perfect Old Fashioned.
The video is amazing and the recipes perfect🤩. Is this possible to have the reference of your highball you use for the first cocktail? Merci d'avance 😁
My grandmother had a fairly thick French accent so I should have known better but I was still thrown by the Hi ball sounding like "eye-ball" Those pesky h's!.

Swap in demerara syrup, less time than muddling that cube and more even distribution. Sometimes fire in some orange bitters too.
2.25oz of your favorite bourbon
.25oz of Aperal
Bar Spoon of simple
2 dashes of orange ango
1 sugar cube
Orange bitters
Then muddle
Ice
2oz Makers or Woodford
Orange peel essence
Black cherry and a little of the syrup.

That's more of a bourbon sour. =)
@@meauxx No one asked you...
@@inthebag84 You're responding in a public forum. Very little approval from your side is needed for me to make a comment. =)
@@meauxx Plus, adding a dash (no more than 1/4 oz) of lemon juice, hardly turns it into a sour.

We dont have soda water in our country lol cant even make this, some fancy stores sell it though
Instead of sugar has anyone ever tried something like agave instead? Im curious as to what difference there would be

Instead of that angustra bitter can i use some syrup or lemon juice 🤔?

Why do you use such large ice chunks?
I have none of this so I’m gonna make lemonade and put Jameson in it
Where do you buy soda water?
Anywhere that sells soda.
Dumb question, when you say “soda water” is that the same as club soda? Cause I have a whole 24 pack of cans of club soda!
Yep that works. Whatever bubbly water will do.
