Hey, have you read the "Witches of Portland" series by T. Thorn Coyle? It's romance, which isn't my cup of tea, genre-wise (and there seems to be a weirdly high number of current Pagans who also write romance on the side these days, for some reason). It's also not Gardnerian, iir. However, it is centered around an initiatory, magical, contempory witchcraft coven. I also love the level of inclusivity and diversity in their books.

@@JackChanek It's a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the blending of witchcraft magic with fantasy elements. And I also really like how in the books, magic is portrayed as helping situations, but not as solving all problems.

As a Feri initiate, I have met Thorn a few times, she's an interesting person who's kind of gone off in her own direction. I had no idea she was writing romance novels. She's a good musician too, has recorded several albums. I'll have to check it out to see if there is any Feri material.

what do you think of the M R Sellers Rowan Gant series? While not "traditional wicca" it's a series I quite enjoy ... the whole murder mytery with an occult/pagan twist.

Curious what your thoughts are on Lammas Night by Katherine Kurtz? I admit I've only just recently started reading it & so far it seems more Wicca-adjacent than about Wicca. But, based on true events and advised on by some practitioners around for those events. So far not a terrible read either. Better written than I was expecting, but again, only partway through it.

@@JackChanek I'm about halfway through it now and it is surprisingly not bad overall. Certainly above average for this kind of thing. Very much a war story, as much as it is an occult thriller. It's pretty easy to see the fingerprints of the consultants when one of the primary characters goes into another explainer monologue on How Magic Works, etc. So far I'd say I recommend it, though I do have a few qualms about where some plotlines may be headed.
