@@Adventureman_Dan we are already planning our first kayak trip, a one day trip going around 10 miles along side the island of Kauai. I live over here in Hawaii and my brother and both of my friends we’re all learning how to dive. We’re all starting to push just around 50ft and trying to slowly extend our bottom times. The last three dives we have been calling in UKU(green job fish) and both times we have had the opportunity for a shot our guns have jammed 😂 on top of that we keep getting sharked out. That’s a big learning curve just being comfortable protecting our catch from sharks. Anyways thank you for the awesome video, I heard about you from the noob spearo podcast.

Amazing trip and spearfishing adventure! Thanks for sharing this! I can't wait to go back to NZ..didn't spearfish at the time, but got introduced by locals to rock fishing for King and Snapper and had the time of my fishing life.

That’s my home town , it’s good that the people who gather it’s resources share it with the locals , there will always be elders from the area waiting for some fresh fish to be dropped off , keep up the good vids 🤙🏽

That was exciting, you have bigger kahunas than me! I'm from NZ and visited all those areas in a campervan, but I'd never have the stones to jump in there and fight off sharks. Nice catch.

I’m with first comment,respect the areas and locals!both very important,though you may respect bag limits and the area doesn’t mean all will. You can still show your exploits without maps.if you did that in certain areas and people found out,well good luck and I wouldn’t argue.

I love spear fishing but I can’t hold my breath for long meaning I can’t go deep enough to get any good fish
Keep at it. The more you go the better you will get. Plus there are plenty of good fish to be found in under 30ft.
Keep at it. You can practice to increase your dive time. Or if you got a few hundred bucks I seen some people use these small breathing devices that give you like 10 minutes. Not sure how they refill them though for more dives.

I grew up in the islands everyday going out to the ocean. Accidents happen but being uncomfortable and panicking will not help you.

Haha, yea some of them can be dramatic. But remember that the risk of loss of life is pretty high in a breath holding sport where there are much bigger and hungrier things lurking.
